  • Braves' Raisel Iglesias: Secures win

Iglesias (4-5) struck out one batter in a scoreless inning and earned a win against the Mets on Tuesday. Iglesias delivered a perfect 10th inning and earned a win after Atlanta walked it off in the bottom of the frame. He's turned in three scoreless innings since his last blown save June 5. He still owns a 6.00 ERA through 27 frames this season. Pierce Johnson and Dylan Lee each threw scoreless innings in Tuesday's win.

  • Braves' Raisel Iglesias: Notches first hold of season

Iglesias gave up a hit and struck out one in a scoreless eighth inning Friday to record his first hold of the season in a win over the Rockies. The right-hander was brought in to protect a 7-4 lead and got the job done on 12 pitches (eight strikes). Iglesias hasn't collected a save since May 16, and while Atlanta manager Brian Snitker indicated over the weekend that he was no longer the team's primary closing option, he didn't say the veteran reliever would be completely removed from the late-inning mix. If Iglesias can string together a few more sharp appearances, he could reclaim the job. Dylan Lee was in line for the save opportunity Friday before Atlanta erupted for five insurance runs in the bottom of the eighth inning.

  • Braves' Raisel Iglesias: Clean inning in lower-leverage spot

Iglesias struck out two in a perfect eighth inning during Monday's 7-1 win over the Brewers. The right-hander entered the game to protect a four-run lead, with Atlanta adding on some insurance in the top of the ninth. Iglesias has a 7.07 ERA since the beginning of May and hasn't successfully converted a save since May 16, but with no one else in the bullpen having yet taken advantage of the opportunity to lay claim to the closer role, he may only need a few sharp appearances in a row to re-establish himself as the top option for manager Brian Snitker.

  • Braves' Raisel Iglesias: Passed over for save chance

Iglesias did not pitch Saturday despite Atlanta holding a 2-1 lead in the ninth inning against the Giants. Iglesias has struggled over the last month, allowing 11 earned runs across 10 innings pitched. After blowing a save and taking a loss Thursday, manager Brian Snitker noted that Iglesias was not necessarily Atlanta's primary closer moving forward, per Mark Bowman of MLB.com. He was unavailable to pitch Friday but was then passed over in a save chance Saturday. Pierce Johnson got the save opportunity instead, but he blew the chance by allowing a two-run home run to Matt Chapman.

  • Braves' Raisel Iglesias: Blows save, takes loss Thursday

Iglesias (3-5) blew the save and took the loss against the Diamondbacks on Thursday, allowing three runs on four hits and one walk in two-thirds of an inning. He did not record a strikeout. Iglesias entered with a 10-7 lead and a runner on first with one out but was unable to close things out, departing with an 11-10 deficit. He's now allowed runs in seven of his past 10 appearances and holds a disappointing 6.75 ERA, 1.54 WHIP, and 25:6 K:BB across 24 innings overall. While there's been no indication from the team that the 35-year-old is in danger of losing the closer role, he's just 8-for-12 in save chances as Atlanta continues to slide in the National League East standings.

  • Braves' Raisel Iglesias: Struggles continue Wednesday

Iglesias gave up a run on two hits and a walk in the ninth inning of Wednesday's loss to the Diamondbacks. He struck out one. The Atlanta closer was brought in for the top of the ninth with his team down 1-0, but Iglesias couldn't prevent an insurance run from crossing the plate -- something which loomed large when Atlanta scored its only run of the game in the bottom of the frame. Iglesias has been tagged for at least one run in seven of his last 10 appearances, posting a ghastly 7.71 ERA, 2.04 WHIP and 8:3 K:BB in 9.1 innings over that stretch while converting two of three save chances. As yet, there's been no indication manager Brian Snitker is considering removing Iglesias from the closer role, but his strikeout rate on the season has swooned to a career-low 24.8 percent, and there's little sign of a turnaround in his recent performances.

  • Braves' Raisel Iglesias: Takes loss against San Diego

Iglesias (3-4) was tagged with the loss against the Padres on Friday after allowing a solo homer in the ninth inning while striking out one batter. He did not issue a walk. Iglesias was tasked with keeping the game tied at 1-1, but that mission was short-lived after he yielded a solo home run to Manny Machado. It's been a shaky season for Iglesias, who has allowed at least one earned run in five of his last seven outings and has a 5.75 ERA, 1.33 WHIP and 21:4 K:BB across 20.1 innings. Iglesias' recent poor play could force manager Brian Snitker to turn to someone else for closing duties. Pierce Johnson and Dylan Lee are current options out of the bullpen, or Snitker could consider veteran Craig Kimbrel, who is with Triple-A Gwinnett after signing a minor-league deal with Atlanta in March.

  • Braves' Raisel Iglesias: Shaky while collecting eighth save

Iglesias picked up the save in Friday's 4-2 win over Boston after allowing one run on one hit in the ninth inning. He struck out one. Iglesias' uneven start to the season continued, as he's now given up five runs on 11 hits over his past five outings. Among the veteran right-hander's 19 appearances, only six of them have been perfect. Iglesias owns a 5.89 ERA and 1.42 ERA on the campaign, but he does sport a 20:4 K:BB and has converted eight of his 11 save chances as Atlanta's closer.

  • Braves' Raisel Iglesias: Notches save No. 7

Iglesias picked up the save Thursday against Washington, allowing one hit with no strikeouts over a scoreless ninth inning. It was a much-needed clean outing for Iglesias, who had surrendered a run in each of his last three appearances and had blown two of his previous four save chances. The 35-year-old has been uncharacteristically bad in 2025, posting a 5.71 ERA in 17.1 innings after notching a sub-3.00 ERA in his last five seasons, including a 1.95 ERA across 69.1 regular-season innings in 2024.

  • Braves' Raisel Iglesias: Blows another save

Iglesias (3-3) blew the save but picked up the win Monday in a 4-3 victory over the Nationals, giving up two runs (one earned) on three hits and a walk in an inning of relief. He struck out one. The beleaguered closer had another rough night as he coughed up a two-run lead in the top of the ninth, although Atlanta walked it off in the bottom of the frame. A Nick Allen error didn't help, but Iglesias has been tagged for eight hits and five runs (four earned) over his last three appearances, leaving him with an alarming 6.06 ERA and 1.41 WHIP through 16.1 innings despite a 19:4 K:BB. He's converted just six of nine saves chances, and his average fastball velocity has slipped to 94.7 mph, his lowest mark since 2016. Pierce Johnson (2.45 ERA, 0.89 WHIP, 17:4 K:BB through 14.2 IP) and Dylan Lee (2.16 ERA, 0.90 WHIP, 18:6 K:BB in 16.2 IP) both appear capable of stepping up in save situations if Atlanta decided to move Iglesias into a lower-leverage role while he sorts things out.

  • Braves' Raisel Iglesias: Saddled with loss

Iglesias (2-3) took the loss in Sunday's contest at Pittsburgh. He allowed one run on two hits and a walk in one-third of an inning. The veteran closer entered in the ninth inning with the score tied at 3-3 and failed to send the game to extras. Iglesias looked unsteady from the start, allowing two consecutive singles to open the frame, although neither one was hit hard. The game ended on a fielder's choice as the Atlanta infield was unable to convert a Joey Bart groundball into an out. After Iglesias pitched to a spectacular 1.95 ERA across 69.1 innings in 2024, he has struggled through 15.1 frames this season, pitching to a 5.87 ERA and 1.24 WHIP while already allowing six homers.

  • Braves' Raisel Iglesias: Picks up extra-inning win

Iglesias (2-2) got the win Tuesday after tossing a perfect inning while striking out two against the Reds. Iglesias was tasked with stranding the ghost runner in the 10th and did so with ease, retiring the side on just seven pitches. Atlanta went on to walk it off in the bottom of the frame, leaving Iglesias victorious. He's now posted four consecutive scoreless outings with an 8:0 K:BB over that span but sits tied for 15th with six saves thus far.

  • Braves' Raisel Iglesias: Secures sixth save

Iglesias allowed a hit and struck out three in a scoreless inning to earn the save in Sunday's 4-3 win over the Dodgers. Iglesias has strung together three scoreless outings for the first time this season, adding six strikeouts in that span. The veteran closer had some struggles in April, but he appears to be getting on track now. Those issues are reflected in his 4.85 ERA, but he's added a 1.00 WHIP and 15:2 K:BB while converting six of eight save attempts over 13 innings this season.

  • Braves' Raisel Iglesias: Nails down fifth save

Iglesias notched a save against the Rockies on Monday, allowing one hit and striking out one batter in one scoreless inning. Iglesias had a comfortable three-run lead to work with when he entered in the ninth frame, and he cruised through three outs, needing just nine pitches (eight of which were strikes) to secure the save despite giving up a two-out double. It was a promising bounce-back for the veteran closer after he allowed four runs over two innings across his previous two appearances. Iglesias holds an unimpressive 5.73 ERA on the campaign, but he has a more promising 10:2 K:BB and 1.09 WHIP over 11 frames and has been successful on five of seven save chances.

  • Braves' Raisel Iglesias: Blows save, snags win Saturday

Iglesias (1-2) allowed one run on two hits over one inning, taking a blown save but earning the extra-inning win Saturday versus the Diamondbacks. Iglesias gave up a piece of history in the ninth inning, allowing Eugenio Suarez's fourth home run of the game. It came at a bad time for Iglesias, as it tied the game at 7-7 just after Atlanta had rallied ahead in the eighth. The right-hander is now 4-for-6 in save chances this season, and he's been scored upon in five of his 10 outings, allowing a homer in each of those instances. He's at a putrid 6.30 ERA despite a passable 1.10 WHIP and 9:2 K:BB across 10 innings. Prior to Saturday, no other reliever had logged a save for Atlanta, but Dylan Lee was able to protect a one-run lead in the 10th inning to earn one. Iglesias' role as closer isn't in immediate danger, but he needs to get back on track soon.

  • Braves' Raisel Iglesias: Converts third save

Iglesias pitched a perfect inning to earn the save in Friday's 6-4 win over the Twins. Atlanta's five-run rally in the eighth inning created a save situation, and Iglesias took care of business. The closer hadn't pitched since Saturday -- Atlanta went 1-3 over its previous three games entering Friday, and the one win didn't yield a save opportunity. He's allowed a run in three of his seven appearances this season while converting three of four save chances. The right-hander is at a 3.86 ERA, 0.71 WHIP and 7:1 K:BB across seven innings.

  • Braves' Raisel Iglesias: Blows first save chance of 2025

Iglesias (0-1) took the loss and blew a save against the Dodgers on Wednesday, allowing one run on two hits while striking out two batters over one inning. With Atlanta off to an 0-6 start to the season, manager Brian Snitker didn't wait until the ninth inning to go to his closer as the team clung to a two-run, eighth-inning lead. Iglesias entered with one out and a runner on first base in that frame, inheriting a 2-0 count on Dodgers catcher Will Smith. Iglesias threw two more balls to put Smith on base but then got Tommy Edman to ground out to move within an out of escaping the jam. However, Max Muncy followed with a two-run, game-tying double, saddling Iglesias with a blown save. The veteran closer remained in the contest for the ninth, and he took the loss when Shohei Ohtani got to him for a walk-off homer. Iglesias went 67-for-75 in save chances over the past two regular seasons, so he figures to have plenty of leash despite Wednesday's stumble.

  • Braves' Raisel Iglesias: Cruising through camp

Iglesias gave up a hit and struck out one in a scoreless inning during Saturday's Grapefruit League game against the Pirates. Atlanta's closer has been sharp in camp, posting a 0.00 ERA and 3:1 K:BB in his three innings so far. Iglesias has produced 67 saves along with a 2.30 ERA, 0.94 WHIP and 9.79 K/9 over the last two seasons, and the 35-year-old is entrenched in his ninth-inning role heading into Opening Day.

  • Braves' Raisel Iglesias: Needed on both ends of twin bill

Iglesias blew his fourth save of the season in the first game of Monday's doubleheader against the Mets, giving up two runs on two hits in one-third of an inning. He then gave up a hit in a scoreless ninth inning during the second game to record his 34th save of the year. With Atlanta clinging to a 3-2 lead in the eighth inning of the matinee and needing at least one win in the twin bill to secure a playoff spot, Iglesias got the call with nobody out and runners on first and second to try and shut down a rally, but the veteran closer gave up an RBI single to Jose Iglesias, a sacrifice fly to Mark Vientos and a two-run homer to Brandon Nimmo. Atlanta wound up losing 8-7, but Iglesias shut the door in the nightcap, taking him off the hook for what might have been a season-ruining meltdown. It was his first blown save since Aug. 27, but the second time in his final eight appearances of the regular season he's been tagged for multiple runs. Fatigue could be a factor after the 34-year-old finished the regular season with 69.1 innings, his biggest workload since 2021. Iglesias has also taken the mound four times in the last four days, which likely makes him unavailable should Atlanta have a late lead to protect Tuesday in Game 1 of its NL Wild Card Series against the Padres.

  • Braves' Raisel Iglesias: Picks up win Saturday

Iglesias (6-2) struck out two in a perfect inning to earn the win over the Royals on Saturday. Iglesias kept the game tied at 1-1 in the top of the ninth inning, and Travis d'Arnaud walked it off for Atlanta with a solo home run in the bottom of the frame. Iglesias has allowed six runs (five earned) over 14 innings this month, but five of them came in one appearance versus the Dodgers on Sept. 15. The closer has a 1.72 ERA, 0.71 WHIP and 68:13 K:BB across 68 innings this season while converting 33 of 36 save chances. Iglesias has thrown a modest 16 pitches over the last two days, so he could still be available for a potential save opportunity Sunday.
