  • Yankees' Trent Grisham: Sitting against southpaw

Grisham is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Cubs. Grisham will take a seat while the Cubs send a lefty (Shota Imanaga) to the hill for the series finale, but the left-handed-hitting outfielder has also been seeing his playing time against right-handed pitching trend down of late. He's been on the bench for three of the Yankees' last four matchups against righties, with manager Aaron Boone seemingly prioritizing Jasson Dominguez in the lineup over Grisham.

  • Yankees' Trent Grisham: On bench for second straight day

Grisham is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Mariners. The left-handed-hitting Grisham will head to the bench for the second day in a row, with both of his absences coming against right-handed starting pitchers. Though he produced three hits in his most recent start Sunday against the Mets and owns an .826 OPS for the season, Grisham may be shifting into more of a fourth-outfielder role while the Yankees make finding playing time for Jasson Dominguez more of a priority. Dominguez will be included in the lineup Wednesday for the seventh time in eight games.

  • Yankees' Trent Grisham: Will be out of lineup Tuesday

Yankees manager Aaron Boone said on Jomboy Media's "Talkin' Yanks" podcast that Grisham will not be in the lineup for Tuesday's game versus the Mariners. Grisham has dealt with a hamstring issue recently, and while he's considered healthy, Boone wanted to give him a second straight rest day after Monday's team off day. Jasson Dominguez will lead off for the Yankees on Tuesday, with Cody Bellinger likely to handle center field.

  • Yankees' Trent Grisham: Homers in return

Grisham went 1-for-3 with a solo home run and two walks against the Blue Jays in Thursday's loss. Grisham returned to the lineup after beginning on the bench in each of New York's previous two games due to a hamstring injury. The veteran outfielder reached three times in his return, with his lone hit being a solo blast to center field in the third inning. Grisham is up to 16 home runs through 74 games this season -- his career high is 17 long balls, which he slugged over 152 contests with the Padres in 2022.

  • Yankees' Trent Grisham: Back in lineup Thursday

Grisham (hamstring) will start in center field and bat leadoff in Thursday's game versus the Blue Jays. Grisham didn't start the previous two contests after left hamstring tightness forced him from Monday's series opener. However, he's feeling well enough to give it a go in Thursday's series finale as the Yankees try to avoid being swept.

  • Yankees' Trent Grisham: Remains out Wednesday

Grisham (hamstring) remains out of the lineup for Wednesday's contest in Toronto. Grisham has thus far avoided the 10-day injured list, but his left hamstring issue will keep him out of the lineup for a second straight day. Cody Bellinger is again occupying center field for the Yankees on Wednesday.

  • Yankees' Trent Grisham: Not going on injured list yet

Yankees manager Aaron Boone said Tuesday that the Grisham (hamstring) will not be placed on the 10-day injured list at this time, Chris Kirschner of The Athletic reports. Grisham tweaked his left hamstring during Monday's game in Toronto and is out of the lineup for Tuesday's contest. However, the outfielder is going through pregame activities and will avoid the IL for now. Grisham is considered day-to-day for the time being, but an eventual trip to the IL can't be ruled out if the hamstring issue lingers.

  • Yankees' Trent Grisham: Likely headed to injured list

Grisham (hamstring) is likely to be placed on the 10-day injured list, Bryan Hoch of MLB.com reports. Grisham had to depart Monday's contest in Toronto with a tight left hamstring. He was seen testing out the hamstring in the outfield pregame Tuesday but evidently didn't feel well enough to avoid a likely trip to the IL. Grisham would be eligible for activation July 11, but with the All-Star break looming shortly after that, there's a good chance the Yankees would hold him back at least until the start of the second half. Cody Bellinger will handle center field while Grisham is out, opening up more starts in left field for Jasson Dominguez.

  • Yankees' Trent Grisham: Out of Tuesday's lineup

Grisham (hamstring) is out of the lineup for Tuesday's game in Toronto. Grisham will get Tuesday's contest off after he was removed from Monday's 5-4 win after four innings due to left hamstring tightness. Per Meredith Marakovits of YES Network, Grisham was testing out his hamstring in the outfield prior to Tuesday's game, offering hope that he could avoid the 10-day injured list. Cody Bellinger will patrol center field for the Yankees on Tuesday.

  • Yankees' Trent Grisham: Dealing with hamstring injury

Grisham (hamstring) exited Monday's contest against Toronto due to left hamstring tightness, Pete Caldera of The Bergen Record reports. Grisham likely suffered the injury while on base in the fourth inning after he led off the frame with a single. The outfielder can be considered day-to-day for the time being until the Yankees release any further information on his status. In the meantime, Jasson Dominguez took over in center field Monday, and he'd stand to fill that role in Grisham's place moving forward if Grisham is sidelined for any additional action.

  • Yankees' Trent Grisham: Exits early Monday

Grisham (undisclosed) exited Monday's contest against the Blue Jays in the bottom of the fifth inning, Bryan Hoch of MLB.com reports. Grisham was replaced in center field by Jasson Dominguez to open the bottom of the fifth, and it's unclear what forced Grisham to leave the game. The outfielder finished his day 1-for-2 with a single and run scored, potentially suffering an injury on a pick-off attempt by Max Scherzer in the top of the fourth.

Grisham went 4-for-6 with two doubles, one RBI and one run scored in Wednesday's 7-1 win over the Reds. Grisham opened the scoring with an RBI single in the second inning and went on to deliver his first four-hit effort of the season. The 28-year-old has been up-and-down over his past 10 games, going hitless five times but also recording four multi-hit performances with six extra-base hits in that span. On the season, he's slashing .251/.351/.481 with 15 home runs, 32 RBI and 38 runs scored across 271 plate appearances.

After starting in each of the Yankees' last five games, the left-handed-hitting Grisham will head to the bench Monday while the Reds send southpaw Nick Lodolo to the bump. With Grisham out of the lineup, the Yankees will roll out an outfield of Jasson Dominguez, Cody Bellinger and Aaron Judge from left to right.

Grisham went 3-for-5 with a solo home run in Saturday's 9-0 win against Baltimore. Grisham belted the first of four Yankees home runs in the game with a solo blast to right field in the first inning. It was his second long ball in three contests following a 14-game homerless stretch during which he batted just .176. Grisham has had hot and cold stretches this season, but overall he's in the midst of a career-best campaign, posting an .833 OPS through 255 plate appearances. He's up to 15 homers, two shy of the career-high 17 he swatted in 2022 with San Diego.

  • Yankees' Trent Grisham: Homers in win

Grisham went 2-for-3 with a two-run homer, a double and a second run scored in Thursday's 7-3 win over the Angels. The 28-year-old Grisham had cooled off at the plate prior to Thursday's contest, going just 4-for-22 in his previous six games. Overall, he's batting .245 with an .823 OPS, 30 RBI and 35 runs scored across 245 plate appearances this year.

  • Yankees' Trent Grisham: Grabbing seat Tuesday

  • Yankees' Trent Grisham: On bench Friday

Grisham isn't part of the starting lineup for Friday's game against the Red Sox. Jasson Dominguez, Cody Bellinger and Aaron Judge will fill the outfield from left to right.

  • Yankees' Trent Grisham: Sitting Saturday

Grisham is not in the Yankees' starting lineup against the Red Sox on Saturday. Grisham has gone 3-for-22 with three runs, five walks and eight strikeouts over his last six games. • Yankees' Trent Grisham: Launches homer Friday

Grisham went 2-for-5 with a two-run home run in Friday's 8-5 loss to the Dodgers. Grisham has multiple hits in three of his last 10 games, but he's gone just 9-for-38 (.237) in that span. His homer Friday was also his first since he went yard twice in Seattle on May 12. Despite Grisham's recent struggles, he has still frequently hit first or second, though Paul Goldschmidt has also gotten more looks in the leadoff spot, particularly against southpaws. Grisham is batting .259 with an .892 OPS, 13 homers, 26 RBI, 28 runs scored, three doubles, one triple and no stolen bases over 49 contests this season.
