Braves' Austin Riley: Sitting for Game 1
Riley is out of the lineup for Game 1 of Sunday's doubleheader at Washington, Mark Bowman of MLB.com reports. The 26-year-old started the past 14 games after sitting out a couple contests due to an illness in early September, and he'll take a seat for Sunday's matinee after he posted a 1.017 OPS with three homers, 11 RBI and 10 runs during that 14-game stretch. Luke Williams will handle the hot corner in Game 1 with Riley likely to be back in the starting nine for the nightcap.... See More ... See Less -

Riley went 2-for-3 with a home run, four RBI and two runs scored in Friday's win over the Nationals. Riley blasted a 434-foot, two-run moonshot off Patrick Corbin in the first inning. That wasn't his only production of the night though, as the Atlanta third baseman added two sacrifice flies later in the game. Riley sports a .281/.343/.516 slash line with 37 homers, three steals, 110 runs and 96 RBI this season. The home run total is one off his career high of 38, set last season.... See More ... Riley (illness) remains out of the lineup Friday versus the Pirates. Riley was held out of Thursday's series finale against the Cardinals due to a stomach bug and isn't quite ready to return to the starting nine, though manager Brian Snitker indicated the 26-year-old slugger should be available off the bench, per David O'Brien of The Athletic. Nicky Lopez will get another start at third base and bat ninth for Atlanta in Friday's series opener against Pittsburgh.... See More ... See Less -
Braves' Austin Riley: Sidelined with illness
Riley is out of the lineup Thursday versus the Cardinals due to an illness, David O'Brien of The Athletic reports. Atlanta manager Brian Snitker told reporters that Riley was vomiting all night, but it's believed to be just a 24-hour type of stomach bug. Nicky Lopez is filling in at third base and batting ninth against St. Louis.... See More ... See Less -
Braves' Austin Riley: Gets day off Thursday
Riley is not in the lineup Thursday against the Cardinals. This appears to be a scheduled day of rest for Riley, who homered in each of the first two games of Atlanta's three-game set versus St. Louis. Braves' Austin Riley: Goes deep in victory
Riley went 2-for-5 with a solo home run in Thursday's 8-7 win against the Dodgers. Riley accounted for the final run in a six-run second inning for Atlanta with his solo shot to center field. The long ball was his third over his past six contests to bring his total to 32 on the campaign. Braves' Austin Riley: Belts 31st long ball
Riley went 2-for-5 with a home run, a walk, two total runs and three total RBI in a 14-4 victory versus Colorado on Monday. Riley opened the scoring for Atlanta with his two-run shot to right field in the third inning, and he tacked on an RBI single in the seventh. The long ball was his second over his past three contests following a nine-game stretch during which he went just 6-for-33 without any homers. While Riley has been overshadowed by the MVP-level seasons of teammates Ronald Acuna and Matt Olson, he's performed very well in his own right, reaching the 30-homer mark for the third straight campaign while tallying 81 RBI, three steals and a .274/.336/.504 slash line over 578 plate appearances.... Braves' Austin Riley: Reaches 30-homer plateau
Riley went 1-for-3 with two walks, a solo home run and a second run scored in Saturday's 7-3 win over the Giants. The third baseman turned on a first-pitch fastball from Sean Manaea in the fifth inning and crushed it to left field, snapping a brief nine-game homer drought. The streaky Riley is slashing .278/.345/.515 in August with six long balls and 14 RBI, and he's now reached 30 home runs for the third straight season. His career high is 38, set last year, and with 34 games left on Atlanta's schedule, Riley will likely need at least one more heater to get there.... See More ... See Less -
Braves' Austin Riley: Rare steal Sunday

After rapping a two-out single in the first inning, Riley got himself into scoring position with his third steal of the season -- a new career high -- and first since late June. The third baseman has been on a big tear of late, hitting safely in 14 of his last 15 games with 10 home runs over that span. Riley's OPS for the season is up to .843, and while he may not receive down-ballot MVP votes this year like he did in 2021 and 2022, he's likely to be a part of that conversation again down the road.... Braves' Austin Riley: Homers again Sunday
Riley went 1-for-3 with a two-run homer and an additional run scored in Sunday's victory over Milwaukee. Braves' Austin Riley: Homers in fifth straight game

The third baseman has been on a remarkable run, going deep in five straight contests and compiling six long balls along with 16 RBI during that span. The power surge has pushed Riley to 22 homers (ninth-most in the NL) and 61 RBI (tied for 10th-most in the NL) on the campaign.... See More ... See Less -

Riley went 2-for-4 with a home run, a triple, three RBI and two runs scored in Thursday's 7-5 win over the Diamondbacks. Riley led off the bottom of the seventh inning with a triple before coming around to score on a Matt Olson home run in the next at-bat. But the third baseman wasn't done there, launching a three-run homer in the very next inning to put Atlanta on top 6-5. Riley is riding a nice hot streak at the plate and he's now homered in three consecutive games, driving in 11 runs over that stretch.... See More ... See Less -

Riley went 3-for-5 with a double, two home runs, three runs scored and seven RBI in Tuesday's 16-13 loss to the Diamondbacks. The seven RBI were a career best for Riley, as he launched a three-run shot off Zach Davies in the fourth inning and a two-run blast off Austin Adams in the sixth.
