Athletics' Luis Urias: Back from injured list
The Athletics reinstated Urias (hamstring) from the 10-day injured list Sunday.
The veteran infielder landed on the shelf in early July due to a hamstring strain, but he'll rejoin the active roster after missing the minimum amount of time. Urias is on the bench for Sunday's matchup with the Blue Jays, but he'll vie with Max Muncy for regular starts at second base after Zack Gelof was demoted to Triple-A Las Vegas in a corresponding move.

Athletics' Luis Urias: Lands on injured list
The Athletics placed Urias on the 10-day injured list Friday with a right hamstring strain, retroactive to Thursday.
Urias' hamstring forced him to make an early exit from Wednesday's game, and he'll spend at least 10 days on the injured list now that he's been officially diagnosed with a strain. Zack Gelof (ribs) was activated from the 60-day IL in a corresponding move, which means Urias likely won't benefit from regular playing time once he's healthy.

Athletics' Luis Urias: Exits early with hamstring issue
Urias went 0-for-2 before being removed in the bottom of the fourth inning of Wednesday's 6-5 loss to the Rays due to right hamstring soreness, Martin Gallegos of MLB.com reports.
Per Gallegos, manager Mark Kotsay said after the game that he doesn't think Urias' hamstring issue is significant enough to warrant a stay on the injured list, but the Athletics will have a better feel for the infielder's status after evaluating him during Thursday's off day. Even if he's able to quickly move past the hamstring injury, Urias' time as an everyday player could soon be over. The Athletics are expected to get second baseman Zack Gelof (ribs) back from the 60-day IL this weekend, and Miguel Andujar (oblique) will begin a rehab assignment at Triple-A Las Vegas on Wednesday and could soon be ready to return from the 10-day IL to reclaim a regular role at third base.

Athletics' Luis Urias: Posts steal in win
Urias went 1-for-3 with a walk, a stolen base and a run scored in Friday's 5-4 win over the Orioles.
Urias got a day off Thursday to reset after going 1-for-10 over three games versus the Twins. He was able to make a small impact Friday, stealing his second bag of the season. The infielder has added modest numbers across the board with a .243/.339/.395 slash line, six home runs, 14 RBI, 17 runs scored and five doubles over 50 contests. Urias continues to see a starting role at second base for the Athletics, but his hitting has been trending down over the last couple of weeks.

Athletics' Luis Urias: Out of Thursday's lineup
Urias is not in the lineup for Thursday's game against the Twins.

Athletics' Luis Urias: Getting afternoon off
Urias is out of the lineup for Thursday's game against the Angels.
Max Schuemann will get the nod at the keystone Thursday, but Urias had manned second base in each of the last six games and still appears to be the Athletics' preferred option at the position while Zack Gelof (wrist/rib) remains on the injured list. Since moving into an everyday role in late April, Urias has slashed .272/.358/.457 with five home runs and one stolen base in 28 games.

Athletics' Luis Urias: Notches first steal
Urias went 1-for-4 with a stolen base in Saturday's 1-0 extra-inning loss to the Giants.
Urias had one of the Athletics' five hits in the contest, where offense was at a premium. He's been pretty good in May, hitting safely in 11 of his 14 games. He's gone 14-for-46 (.304) this month, though just three of those hits have gone for extra bases. The infielder is at a .274/.355/.474 slash line with six home runs, 10 RBI, 12 runs scored and a steal through 33 contests this season.

Urias is out of the lineup Thursday against the Dodgers.

Athletics' Luis Urias: Racks up three hits
Urias went 3-for-4 in Monday's 7-6 win over the Mariners in 11 innings.
Urias provided some steady hitting from the No. 9 spot, though all three hits were singles and he wasn't directly involved in any scoring plays. Since April 20, he's been a regular in the Athletics' lineup, and he's gone 14-for-48 (.292) in that span. That has him up to a .272 batting average on the year to go with an .871 OPS, five home runs, nine RBI, eight runs scored and no stolen bases. Urias is holding down a starting role at second base, and with Zack Gelof (wrist/ribs) pausing his rehab assignment Monday, Urias should get a longer look in the lineup.

Athletics' Luis Urias: Swats walk-off homer
Urias went 1-for-3 with a two-run homer and a walk in Sunday's 3-2 extra-inning victory against the White Sox.
Urias drew his seventh consecutive start at second base, making the most of it by ending the game with his fourth homer of the season. The 27-year-old has heated up since taking over the keystone April 20, batting .304 (7-for-23) with three homers, four runs scored and RBI apiece. Overall, Urias is now slashing .275/.348/.575 across 47 plate appearances in his first season with the Athletics.

Athletics' Luis Urias: Making third straight start
Urias is starting at second base and batting ninth Wednesday against the Rangers.
The 27-year-old has worked as a reserve infielder early in the season with four starts each at second and third base, but he should be in line for more consistent playing time after Max Muncy was demoted Wednesday. Zack Gelof (wrist) doesn't appear particularly close to returning from the IL, so at-bats at the keystone should mostly be up for grabs. Urias has certainly earned the additional opportunities with a .304/.370/.565 slash line through 27 plate appearances.

Athletics' Luis Urias: Hits pinch-hit home run
Urias hit a pinch-hit home run in Friday's victory over Seattle.
Urias lost out on a starting job at both third base and second base this spring, but he will be used in a utility infield role. The 27-year-old slashed only .191/.303/.394 in 41 games with Seattle last season but clubbed 39 home runs for the Brewers from 2021 to 2022.

Mariners' Luis Urias: Draws rare start Sunday
Urias drew his first start since Sept. 4 in Sunday's win over the Rangers and went 0-for-3 with a hit-by-pitch and a run.
Urias was making his first appearance of any kind since that game, one in which he'd rapped out three extra-base hits and knocked in four runs. Despite that stellar performance, Urias had not been able to crack the starting nine again with Josh Rojas healthy and getting regular run at the hot corner. Urias limped to a .152 average and .580 OPS across his first 35 games at the big-league level this season before being demoted to Triple-A Tacoma, but he'd earned a call back up by posting a strong .260 average and .789 OPS across 78 games with the Rainiers.

Mariners' Luis Urias: Huge performance in win
Urias went 3-for-4 with two doubles, a home run, four RBI and two runs scored while also drawing a walk in Wednesday's win over the Athletics.
Urias brought home Mitch Garver with an RBI double in the top of the fourth before coming around to score himself on a Dylan Moore single as the Mariners took a 5-1 lead. The infielder then added a leadoff homer in the seventh to extend the lead, followed by another RBI double in the eighth, giving him his first three-hit performance of the campaign, as well as his first hits since being promoted to the majors last week. Urias' four RBI on the night also marked a season high.
