Cimber (shoulder) was non-tendered by the Blue Jays on Friday, Ben Nicholson-Smith of Sportsnet.ca reports.
Cimber struggled to a 7.40 ERA and 12:7 K:BB over 20.2 innings in 2023 before suffering a season-ending shoulder strain in late June. The 33-year-old reliever is now a free agent.
Cimber (shoulder) was activated from the 60-day injured list Monday.
This is purely a procedural move for Toronto, as Cimber finished the 2023 campaign on the injured list while rehabbing from a shoulder strain. He should be at full strength for the start of spring training.
