  • Rangers' Adolis Garcia: Inks two-year pact with Texas

Garcia signed a two-year, $14 million contract with the Rangers on Thursday to avoid arbitration, Jon Heyman of the New York Post reports.

The two sides had been scheduled for an arbitration hearing Thursday, but that will no longer be necessary. Heyman says Garcia can push his total earnings over the two years to $20.25 million if he reaches incentives. The outfielder will be under team control for one additional year in 2026, as well, before reaching free agency. Garcia slashed .245/.328/.508 with 39 home runs in 2023 and added an additional eight long balls during the postseason.

  • Rangers' Adolis Garcia: Available off bench in Game 4?

Garcia (side) could be available off the bench Tuesday in Game 4 of the World Series against the Diamondbacks, Bob Nightengale of USA Today reports.

Garcia is not in the Rangers' starting lineup for Game 4 after tweaking his left side late in Game 3 on Monday, but he went through a workout Tuesday and apparently came away encouraged. ESPN's Buster Olney adds that the ALCS MVP walked through the pregame clubhouse carrying a bat and said "all is good." Travis Jankowski will get the start in right field Tuesday, but Garcia could appear in the game at some point and may be able to return in full as early as Wednesday's Game 5 at Arizona.

He went through a workout Tuesday afternoon and reported feeling good, but manager Bruce Bochy later noted that the diagnosis is "not great news" for his availability the rest of the way, per Kennedi Landry of MLB.com. Travis Jankowski will start in right field and bat ninth in Game 4 of the Fall Classic on Tuesday night against the Diamondbacks.

  • Rangers' Adolis Garcia: Headed for further testing

Garcia will undergo an MRI after exiting the Rangers' 3-1 win over the Diamondbacks on Monday in Game 3 of the World Series with a left side injury, Bob Nightengale of USA Today reports.

Garcia's availability for the remainder of the series will be unknown until the team can evaluate his scans, but a side injury is usually cause for concern. If he's forced to miss time, look for Robbie Grossman and Travis Jankowski to see more opportunities in right field.
