Thomas went 4-for-6 with a double and two runs scored in Sunday's 10-9 win over Atlanta. Thomas had been going through a brutal 10-for-81 stretch at the plate coming into Sunday but capped off his breakout season in epic fashion with his first four-hit game of the year. He somehow managed to not drive in a run but did score twice, which brought him up to 101 runs this season. He became just the 10th player in franchise history to reach triple digits in that category. Thomas has certainly found himself a home in D.C. and finishes 2023 slashing an impressive .268/.315/.468 with 28 homers, 86 RBI and 20 steals.... See More ... See Less

Nationals' Lane Thomas: Leaves yard Friday
Thomas went 1-for-5 with a solo home run in Friday's 10-6 win over Atlanta. The home run was Thomas' 28th of the season, giving him an outside chance of joining the 30-homer, 20-steal club if he's able to continue the power binge during the Nationals' final two games. A late-round selection in most fantasy drafts this spring, Thomas has likely been an unsung hero for his managers. He's been a useful asset in each of the five major rotisserie categories, batting .266 and chipping in 99 runs and 86 RBI in addition to his home-run and stolen-base production.... See More ... Nationals' Lane Thomas: Homer, steal in loss
Thomas went 2-for-5 with a solo home run, a stolen base and an additional run scored in an 8-5 loss to Atlanta in Game 2 of Sunday's doubleheader. Thomas earned his first multi-hit effort since Sept. 3 with this performance. Over the 15 prior games, he'd gone a paltry 8-for-62 (.129), albeit with six extra-base hits. The outfielder is up to 27 homers, 85 RBI, 98 runs scored and 20 steals while slashing .270/.319/.472 through 151 contests this season.... See More ... See Less -
Nationals' Lane Thomas: Slugs homer No. 25
Thomas went 1-for-4 with a solo home run in Friday's 5-3 loss to the Brewers. His first-inning shot of Wade Miley kicked off a three-run frame for the Nationals, but the offense went cold the rest of the way. Thomas has gone just 3-for-30 since returning from a three-game absence earlier this month due to back issues, but all three hits have gone for extra bases (one double and two home runs). On the season, the breakout star is still slashing .275/.323/.476 with 25 homers, 18 steals, 79 RBI and 94 runs.... See More ... See Less -
Nationals' Lane Thomas: Comes up big in return
Thomas went 1-for-4 with a home run, three RBI and a stolen base in Saturday's 7-6 extra-innings win over the Dodgers. The outfielder had missed the last three games due to back soreness and was being eased back into action as the DH in this one, but Thomas looked completely healthy as he swiped his 18th bag of the season in the fifth inning after being hit by a pitch, then lofted his 24th homer in the seventh off Bobby Miller. Thomas has left the yard in four straight games sandwiched around his absence, going 8-for-17 over that stretch with eight RBI.... See More ... See Less -
Nationals' Lane Thomas: Returns to lineup
Thomas (back) is starting as Washington's designated hitter Saturday against the Dodgers, Mark Zuckerman of MASNSports.com reports. Thomas was held out of Washington's last three games as a result of back soreness, but he seems to be feeling well enough to play Saturday. The 28-year-old outfielder went 7-for-13 with three homers and five RBI in three games against Miami before getting injured.... See More ... See Less -
Nationals' Lane Thomas: Held out again Friday
Thomas (back) remains out of the lineup for Friday's game against the Dodgers, Andrew Golden of The Washington Post reports. Thomas hasn't played since Sunday because of a lingering back issue. A previous MRI showed no structural damage, but it's not clear when Thomas might be ready to play again. Travis Blankenhorn is holding down right field Friday.... See More ... See Less -
Nationals' Lane Thomas: Out again with sore back
Thomas (back) is out of the lineup again Wednesday versus the Mets. Thomas missed Tuesday's game due to back discomfort and could be fully held out of action until the Nationals' weekend series against the Dodgers, which begins Friday. The good news is that an MRI showed only inflammation, and he can utilize Thursday's scheduled team off day to further heal. Travis Blankenhorn, Jacob Young and Alex Call are starting across the outfield Wednesday against New York.... See More ... See Less -
Nationals' Lane Thomas: Out due to back issue
Thomas is out of the lineup Tuesday versus the Mets due to back discomfort, Mark Zuckerman of MASNSports.com reports. The back discomfort is severe enough that Thomas was sent for an MRI, the results of which are still pending. It sounds like he could require an extended period of rest. Travis Blankenhorn, Jacob Young and Alex Call are starting across the outfield for the Nationals on Tuesday against New York.... See More ... See Less -
Nationals' Lane Thomas: Gets breather Tuesday
Thomas is absent from the lineup Tuesday versus the Mets. This appears to be a routine breather for Thomas, who went 7-for-13 with three homers and five RBI in the final three games of the Nationals' four-game weekend series against the Marlins. Travis Blankenhorn, Jacob Young and Alex Call will start across the outfield Tuesday versus New York.... See More ... See Less -
Nationals' Lane Thomas: Three hits, homer Sunday
Thomas went 3-for-5 with a solo home run and a second RBI in Sunday's 6-4 loss to the Marlins. Thomas got Washington on the board in the first inning with a 431-foot blast off Sandy Alcantara. The 28-year-old Thomas has now homered in three straight games, going 6-for-13 in the series against Miami. He's broken out as a legitimate fantasy contributor this season, slashing .285/.334/.484 with 23 homers, 91 runs scored, 74 RBI and 17 stolen bases across 584 plate appearances.... See More ... Nationals' Lane Thomas: Returns to lineup
Thomas (back) is starting in right field and batting second Friday against Miami, Mark Zuckerman of MASNSports.com reports. After being pulled Wednesday and sitting out Thursday's contest due to back tightness, Thomas is now healthy enough to return to Washington's lineup. The 28-year-old outfielder has been in a bit of a slump recently, going just 2-for-17 with two runs scored across his last five games.... See More ... See Less -
Nationals' Lane Thomas: Remains out Thursday
Thomas (back) won't be in the Nationals' lineup Thursday against the Marlins, Jesse Dougherty of The Washington Post reports. Thomas was removed from Wednesday's game against Toronto due to tightness in his back, and the issue seems to still be bothering him Thursday. Alex Call will take Thomas' place in right field while Jake Alu starts in left.... See More ... See Less -
Nationals' Lane Thomas: Pulled due to back tightness
Thomas departed Wednesday's loss to the Blue Jays because of back tightness, Andrew Golden of The Washington Post reports. Thomas was 0-for-3 at the dish before Alex Call replaced him in right field to begin the bottom of the seventh inning. It's not believed to be a serious issue, but Thomas might be questionable for Thursday's series opener against the Marlins.... See More ... See Less -
Nationals' Lane Thomas: Back in lineup
Thomas (wrist) is starting in right field and batting second Sunday against the Athletics. After being hit by a pitch Friday, Thomas was scratched from Saturday's lineup against the Athletics. However, he did pinch hit, going 1-for-1 with an RBI.... See More ... See Less -
Nationals' Lane Thomas: Scratched from lineup
Thomas was scratched from the Nationals' lineup ahead of Saturday's game against Oakland, Bobby Blanco of MASNSports.com reports. Thomas was hit in the wrist by a pitch during Friday's game and will take Saturday off in order to recover. Stone Garrett will take Thomas' spot in right field and bat sixth.... See More ... Nationals' Lane Thomas: Mashes homer No. 20
Thomas went 1-for-5 with a two-run home run in the first game of Tuesday's doubleheader against the Phillies. He took Zack Wheeler deep to left field in the third inning -- Thomas' fourth homer in his last four games -- to give the Nationals an early 3-0 lead that quickly evaporated in an eventual 8-4 loss. After going 0-for-3 with two walks, a run scored and a stolen base in the nightcap, the 27-year-old breakout star sports an .823 OPS on the season, 118 points better than his 2022 mark, with 20 homers, 15 steals, 67 RBI and 78 runs in 113 contests.... See More ... See Less -
Nationals' Lane Thomas: In lineup for Washington
Thomas is starting in right field and batting second Tuesday versus the Brewers. Thomas has been called a potential trade candidate for the Nationals, but it looks as though he will remain with the club through the 6 p.m. ET deadline. The 27-year-old outfielder has posted a solid .807 OPS with 16 homers and 12 steals through 105 games this season.... See More ... See Less -
Nationals' Lane Thomas: Receives rare day off
Thomas is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Mets, Mark Zuckerman of MASNSports.com reports. He'll hit the bench for the first time since April 29, paving the way for Ildemaro Vargas to pick up a start in the corner outfield. Thomas has been an overlooked fantasy standout for a 44-61 Nationals squad this season, as the 28-year-old has hit .286 with 16 home runs, 69 runs, 55 RBI and 12 stolen bases across 450 plate appearances.... Nationals' Lane Thomas: In lineup after HBP
Thomas (knee) is starting in right field and batting second Tuesday against the Rockies. Thomas was removed from the Nationals' series opener Monday versus Colorado after taking a pitch off his left knee, but all is well. The 27-year-old boasts a .293/.340/.490 slash line with 16 homers and 12 steals through 98 games this season for Washington.... See More ... See Less
