  • Royals' Maikel Garcia: Nabs stolen base Tuesday

Garcia went 2-for-4 with a double and a stolen base in Tuesday's win over the Rockies. Garcia posted his second straight game with multiple hits and has now reached base multiple times in five of his last six games. Over that span, he's recorded a .520 on-base percentage. For the season, Garcia is hitting .289/.360/.434 with two homers, 10 RBI, eight runs, three steals and a 9:13 BB:K in 86 plate appearances.

  • Royals' Maikel Garcia: Collects three hits

Garcia went 3-for-4 with a two-run double in Sunday's win over the Guardians. Garcia singled twice, but his most important hit was a go-ahead two-run double in the fifth inning. It was his first extra-base knock since April 4 and his fourth multi-hit performance of the season. Garcia is now slashing .300/.321/.500 with six extra-base hits and nine RBI through 15 games.

  • Royals' Maikel Garcia: Productive night against O's

Garcia went 2-for-4 with a double, a run scored, three RBI and a stolen base in Friday's 8-2 win over Baltimore. The steal was his first of the season, while the RBI doubled his total to begin the year. Garcia is off to a flying start to his campaign, batting .381 (8-for-21) through seven games with three doubles, two homers and four runs scored.

  • Royals' Maikel Garcia: Blasts second homer of season

Garcia went 1-for-3 with two walks, a solo home run and an additional RBI in Monday's 11-1 win over Milwaukee. Garcia took a 93 mph fastball from Elvin Rodriguez deep for a 428-foot solo home run to center field in the second inning, and the former drew a bases-loaded walk in the seventh frame to bring in another run. Garcia manned third base in his last two outings but got the start in center field Monday, and his utility should allow him to see every day work. He's gone 5-for-13 with two solo home runs through the first four games of the 2025 season.

  • Royals' Maikel Garcia: Not in Thursday's lineup

Garcia is absent from the lineup for Thursday's opener against the Guardians. The Royals have Vinnie Pasquantino at designated hitter as he protects a hamstring injury, and the domino effect has Michael Massey at second base, Jonathan India at third base and Garcia on the bench. Garcia should be in the lineup most days once Pasquantino is healthy, but he'll be the odd man out Opening Day.

  • Royals' Maikel Garcia: Leading off in spring game Saturday

Garcia (elbow) is starting at third base and batting leadoff in Saturday's Cactus League contest against the Dodgers. Garcia underwent surgery to remove bone spurs from his right elbow in early December, but the procedure won't affect his ability to hit or to play the field early this spring. The soon-to-be 25-year-old posted a poor .613 OPS over 157 regular-season games for Kansas City last season, though he showed some signs of growth with a career-best 16.5 percent strikeout rate and 37 stolen bases in 39 attempts. Garcia is slated to open 2025 as the Royals' starting third baseman, but it remains to be seen if he'll hit atop the lineup after registering a paltry .281 OBP last year.

  • Royals' Maikel Garcia: Not in Kansas City lineup

Garcia is not in the lineup for Friday's game in Atlanta. Garcia had started the last seven games, including each of the past four contests versus lefties, but he'll grab a seat in this one as Atlanta sends southpaw Max Fried to the bump. Garrett Hampson is at third base and batting eighth for the Royals.

  • Royals' Maikel Garcia: Registers 37th steal

Garcia went 0-for-3 with a walk and a stolen base in Friday's 2-1 loss to the Giants. Garcia was held without a hit for the third game in a row, but he was able to make a little noise after drawing a ninth-inning walk. The infielder has four steals over his last six games and 37 thefts on 39 attempts this season. He's added a middling .237/.284/.342 slash line with seven home runs, 58 RBI and 84 runs scored over 149 games.

  • Royals' Maikel Garcia: Runs wild against Bucs

Garcia went 1-for-3 with a walk, a double, a run scored, an RBI and three stolen bases in Saturday's 5-1 win over the Pirates. The Royals went 6-for-6 on steal attempts on the day, with Garcia leading the charge. The 24-year-old snapped a 12-game drought on the basepaths with the performance, a stretch in which he batted just .147 (5-for-34) and failed to even score a run. On the season, Garcia is slashing .238/.284/.343 with seven homers, 36 steals, 56 RBI and 84 runs in 144 contests.

  • Royals' Maikel Garcia: Bowing out of starting nine

Garcia is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Twins, Joel Goldberg of Bally Sports Kansas City reports. Garcia will get a breather as the Royals wrap up their series in Minnesota with a day game after a night game. He had started in each of Kansas City's last eight games, going 8-for-32 (.250 average) with four runs, three RBI and one stolen base.

  • Royals' Maikel Garcia: Picks up 28th steal

Garcia went 1-for-5 with one RBI, a stolen base and one run scored in Saturday's 8-3 win over the Cardinals. Garcia has gone 9-for-37 (.243) over nine contests in August, adding three doubles and three steals this month. The infielder is up to 28 thefts on 29 attempts this year after swiping a bag following his RBI single in the seventh inning. Garcia is at a .238/.287/.345 slash line, six home runs, 48 RBI, 73 runs scored, 21 doubles and five triples over 115 contests. While he's still been able to make an impact on the basepaths, he's gotten on base at a .258 clip since the start of June, which continues to limit his effectiveness in fantasy since he hasn't displayed much power.

  • Royals' Maikel Garcia: Sitting Saturday

Garcia is not in the starting lineup for Saturday's game against the Tigers. Garcia will get a breather Saturday after going 2-for-10 with two runs scored and two stolen bases over the first two games of the series. Michael Massey will start at second base and bat sixth.

  • Royals' Maikel Garcia: Notches two thefts in victory

Garcia went 1-for-5 with a run and two stolen bases in a 7-1 win against the Tigers on Thursday. Garcia made the most of his lone trip on the basepaths, following his first-inning single with a pair of thefts before coming home to score. The infielder is up to 27 stolen bases on the campaign, sixth-most in the majors. Garcia is batting just .237 this season, but he's been much better than that for nearly a month, hitting .302 over 63 at-bats since July 7.

  • Royals' Maikel Garcia: Swipes 25th bag

Garcia went 2-for-6 with two runs scored and a stolen base in Wednesday's 10-3 win over the White Sox. The 24-year-old wasted no time in making an impact, singling, stealing second and scoring in the first inning. Garcia has been heating up to close the books on July, batting .302 (13-for-43) over his last 11 games with 13 runs and four of his 25 stolen bases on the season.

  • Royals' Maikel Garcia: Nabs steal Friday

Garcia went 1-for-3 with a walk, a stolen base and two runs scored in Friday's 7-1 win over the White Sox. After an uninspiring June, Garcia has steadied himself in July, batting .250 (9-for-36) over 12 contests. His steal Friday was his first since he swiped two bags June 28. The infielder is at a .231/.284/.344 slash line with 22 steals, six home runs, 43 RBI, 56 runs scored, 15 doubles and five triples over 96 games this season. Garcia's counting stats are likely to be less notable during the second half if he remains near the bottom of the order, as he's been replaced by Adam Frazier as the Royals' leadoff hitter against right-handed pitchers.

  • Royals' Maikel Garcia: Moving to bench for nightcap

Garcia is out of the lineup for the second game of Wednesday's doubleheader with the Cardinals. Garcia started at second base in the Royals' 6-4 win in the early game, going 1-for-4 with a run scored. He'll receive a breather for the nightcap while Michael Massey covers the keystone.

Garcia isn't in the Royals' lineup Thursday against the Rays. Garcia will get a day to rest Thursday after going 1-for-7 with a walk and a run scored through the first two games of the series. His absence will move Michael Massey into second base while Vinnie Pasquantino serves as the DH, putting Salvador Perez at first with Freddy Fermin behind the plate.

  • Royals' Maikel Garcia: Two more steals in win

Garcia went 2-for-5 with a double, two stolen bases and two runs scored in Friday's 10-3 win over the Guardians. Garcia was briefly bumped down the order last weekend, but he hasn't really rebounded since returning to the leadoff spot for the last five games. His multi-hit effort Friday was his first since June 14 and just his third such game in June, a month in which he's batting .153 (15-for-98). The infielder is now at a .234/.288/.347 slash line with five home runs, 40 RBI, 51 runs scored and 21 steals over 82 contests, with his speed being the biggest upside in his game this year.

  • Royals' Maikel Garcia: Rips walk-off double

Garcia went 1-for-4 with a double, two RBI, a run and walk in Thursday's 4-3 win versus the Yankees. Garcia came up with two on and two out in the ninth and took a Clay Holmes sinker down the left-field line to win it for Kansas City. The 24-year-old third baseman entered the game in a bit of a slump during June with just one RBI and a .159 average in 40 at-bats. Garcia continues to provide a spark for the Royals this season with his solid counting stats, as he now has 18 extra-base hits and 38 RBI with 16 stolen bases through 68 games.

  • Royals' Maikel Garcia: Logs steal in loss

Garcia went 1-for-5 with a stolen base in Tuesday's 10-1 loss to the Yankees. Garcia has three steals over his last seven games, but he's gone just 5-for-32 (.156) in that span. He surged at the plate over the second half of May, but it appears he's leveled off again. The third baseman is slashing .251/.299/.373 with 16 steals, five home runs, 36 RBI and 43 runs scored over 66 contests out of the leadoff spot for the Royals.
