  • Diamondbacks' Geraldo Perdomo: Steals base in loss

Perdomo went 0-for-2 with a walk and a stolen base in Saturday's 5-0 loss to the Padres. Perdomo stole second base with one out in the third inning but the Diamondbacks were unable to advance him. It was the ninth steal of the season and the first in 17 games for Perdomo. Arizona faces a must-win scenario Sunday to give it a chance at the postseason, so manager Torey Lovullo will want his best, likely including Perdomo, in the lineup.

  • Diamondbacks' Geraldo Perdomo: Two hits in loss

Perdomo went 2-for-4 with a walk, a double, an RBI and a run scored in Monday's 6-3 loss to San Francisco. Perdomo moved up the order to bat second, as Ketel Marte was held out of the starting lineup in a preventative measure. The double was the career-high 21st for Perdomo, who also has career bests in batting average (.276) and slugging percentage (.382). This is not the same hitter that batted .195 in 2022, his first full season in the majors.

Perdomo batted leadoff and went 2-for-5 with a run scored in Thursday's 3-2 loss to San Francisco. Perdomo led off the game with a single and eventually scored. Arizona manager Torey Lovullo has moved Perdomo to the leadoff spot against lefties -- he batted second against a right-hander Wednesday -- but he'll likely slide back down the order when Ketel Marte (ankle) returns, which could come as soon as this weekend. Perdomo is 7-for-18 with four RBI and five runs scored over the last five games.

  • Diamondbacks' Geraldo Perdomo: Swats second homer

Perdomo went 2-for-5 with a solo home run, an additional run and a double in Wednesday's 10-8 win against Miami. Perdomo entered Wednesday with just one homer through 63 games, but he displayed some unexpected power to provide an insurance run with a solo blast in the eighth inning. The long ball was the infielder's first extra-base hit of any sort over his past 10 games, though he's been reaching base consistently of late with six hits and three walks across his past 20 plate appearances. Perdomo's overall .281 batting average on the campaign is on pace for a career-best mark.

  • Diamondbacks' Geraldo Perdomo: Activated from IL

The Diamondbacks reinstated Perdomo (knee) from the injured list Tuesday. Perdomo suffered a torn meniscus in his right knee in early April, but after roughly two months of recovery and a seven-game rehab assignment, he's ready to return to Arizona's lineup. • Diamondbacks' Geraldo Perdomo: Activation expected Tuesday

The Diamondbacks are expected to activate Perdomo (knee) from the 10-day injured list Tuesday, John Gambadoro of Arizona Sports 98.7 FM reports. Perdomo has been sidelined since early April following surgery on his right meniscus, but he's ready to rejoin the big club after seven rehab games, the last four of which came at Triple-A Reno. Gambadoro relays that the Diamondbacks aren't prepared to remove the struggling Eugenio Suarez from the roster to make room for Perdomo. Kevin Newman or Blaze Alexander could be at risk of losing their spots on the active roster, though Newman would have to be exposed to waivers if he's sent out of Arizona in a corresponding transaction.
