  • Tigers' Ryan Miller: Sent out of big-league camp

The Tigers reassigned Miller to minor-league camp Sunday.

While with the Angels last season, Miller reached the big leagues for the first time and produced a 4.15 ERA and 1.62 WHIP in 13 innings. After being cut loose in November, Miller caught on with the Tigers on a minor-league deal and was given a chance to compete for a spot in the Opening Day bullpen, but he ultimately fell short in his battle for a roster berth. The reliever will likely open the season at Triple-A Toledo.

  • Tigers' Ryan Miller: Heads to Detroit as NRI

The Tigers signed Miller to a minor-league contract Tuesday that includes an invitation to spring training, Evan Petzold of the Detroit Free Press reports.

Miller, who turns 29 in March, got into 13 games with the Angels in 2024, posting a 4.15 ERA and 11:8 K:BB over 13 innings. The right-handed reliever will compete for a spot in Detroit's bullpen but will likely begin the 2025 season at Triple-A Toledo.

  • Ryan Miller: Cut by Halos

The Angels released Miller on Tuesday.

Miller was dropped from the Angels' 40-man roster Thursday, and he'll now attempt to latch on with another organization after passing through waivers unclaimed. The 28-year-old reliever allowed six earned runs over 13 innings in the majors in 2024, though his 2.45 ERA and 1.00 WHIP through 62.1 Triple-A frames should be enough to net him a minor-league deal elsewhere.

  • Angels' Ryan Miller: Dumped from roster

The Angels designated Miller for assignment Thursday, Jeff Fletcher of The Orange County Register reports.

Miller made his big-league debut in 2024 as a 28-year-old, maintaining a 4.15 ERA and 1.62 WHIP across 13 innings while working in relief. He'll remain in the Angels' organization and could have the chance to return to the majors at some point in 2025.

  • Angels' Ryan Miller: Grabs hold in return

Miller (leg) allowed a hit and struck out two over a scoreless inning, earning his first hold in Sunday's 3-2 win over the Mariners.

Miller was hit in the left leg by a comebacker in Friday's game, but it appears he's no worse for wear after just a one-day absence. The 28-year-old has allowed one run and posted a 4:1 K:BB over his first 2.1 innings in the majors since his call-up Tuesday. He's likely to see mostly low-leverage work as long as he stays with the big club.
