White Sox's Ryan Noda: Lands on IL with quad strain
The White Sox placed Noda on the 10-day injured list Monday with a right quadriceps strain.
Noda suffered the injury during Sunday's loss in Colorado and will be sidelined at least until the start of the second half. Tristan Gray was called up from Triple-A Charlotte to replace Noda on the 26-man active roster.

White Sox's Ryan Noda: On bench for series finale
Noda is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Diamondbacks.
Since getting claimed off waivers from the Red Sox on June 13 and joining the White Sox, the left-handed-hitting Noda has been a fixture in the lineup against right-handed pitching at first base or designated hitter. However, Noda has gone just 2-for-21 with six walks and 13 strikeouts to begin his time with the White Sox, and it wouldn't be surprising if his time as a lineup regular was nearing its end. He'll take a seat against Arizona righty Zac Gallen to open up a spot in the starting nine for Michael Taylor.

White Sox's Ryan Noda: Sitting against southpaw
Noda is out of the lineup for Monday's game against the Diamondbacks.
Though he'll hit the bench while the Diamondbacks send southpaw Eduardo Rodriguez to the hill, the left-handed-hitting Noda has been a regular in the White Sox lineup against right-handed pitching since he was claimed off waivers from the Red Sox on June 13. Noda started in seven of the previous eight games but went 2-for-19 with five walks and 12 strikeouts. Edgar Quero will replace him at designated hitter Monday.

White Sox's Ryan Noda: Handling steady role
Noda will start at designated hitter and will bat sixth in Sunday's game against the Blue Jays.
After joining the White Sox last weekend shortly after being claimed off waivers from the Red Sox, Noda has handled a regular role for Chicago. He's started seven of the last eight games, but he's gone just 2-for-17 with a solo home run. Expect Noda's playing time to eventually trend downward if he's unable to get anything going at the dish.

Noda was DFA'd by Boston on June 9 and was subsequently claimed off waivers by the White Sox. Red Sox's Ryan Noda: Booted off 40-man roster

Angels' Ryan Noda: Dumped from 40-man roster
The Angels designated Noda for assignment Sunday.
The 29-year-old was unable to earn a spot on the Halos' Opening Day roster and has now lost his place on the 40-man roster. Noda posted a .148/.364/.270 slash line and 34.1 percent strikeout rate in 38 games with Triple-A Salt Lake and will now be exposed to waivers.

Angels' Ryan Noda: Dispatched to Salt Lake
The Angels optioned Noda to Triple-A Salt Lake on Wednesday.
Noda batted .182 this spring, but 15 walks in 49 plate appearances helped him finish the Cactus League with an .813 OPS. Despite his display of plate discipline and ability to play first base and the corner outfield, he'll have to work his way back into the majors by maintaining success at the Triple-A level.

Angels' Ryan Noda: Heads to Halos via waivers
The Angels claimed Noda off waivers from the Athletics on Friday.
Noda showed some promise in 2023 after the A's plucked him in the Rule 5 Draft, slashing .229/.364/.406 with 16 homers in 128 contests. He couldn't repeat even that level of production in 2024 however, posting just a .465 OPS in 36 games with Oakland while spending most of the year in the minors. Noda will turn 29 in March and could get a chance to compete for playing time at first base, the corner outfield spots and designated hitter.

Noda is not in the lineup for Thursday's contest in Houston.
The left-handed-hitting Noda started at first base in both of the first two games of the series with righties on the mound for the Astros, but he'll take a seat as southpaw Framber Valdez goes to the hill in the finale. Tyler Nevin will play first base and bat seventh for Oakland.

The Athletics recalled Noda from Triple-A Las Vegas on Tuesday.
Noda had put up a .998 OPS with eight home runs with Las Vegas since the beginning of August. He hit just .128/.242/.198 in 30 games with the Athletics earlier this season but could see ample playing time for them at first base down the stretch.
