  • Mariners' Dominic Canzone: No timeline on return

Mariners manager Scott Servais said Monday that there is no set timeline for Canzone (shoulder), Shannon Drayer of Seattle Sports 710 AM reports.

Canzone was placed on the 10-day IL on Monday. He sustained a sprained AC joint in his left shoulder Sunday after colliding with the outfield wall. Servais added that Canzone will be down at least a couple of weeks. While Canzone is out, Jonatan Clase will see more starts in left field, beginning Monday against the Reds.

  • Mariners' Dominic Canzone: Doesn't have structural damage

Canzone does not have structural damage to his left shoulder and will not require surgery, Ryan Divish of The Seattle Times reports.

He's dealing with a sprained AC joint, but an MRI cleared him of any additional damage. Canzone will be sidelined at least a couple weeks, but it sounds like the diagnosis was close to a best-case scenario. Jonatan Clase is expected to see the bulk of the at-bats in left field in Canzone's place.

  • Mariners' Dominic Canzone: Lands on IL with shoulder injury

Canzone was placed on the 10-day injured list by the Mariners on Monday with a sprained AC joint in his left shoulder, Shannon Drayer of Seattle Sports 710 AM reports.

Canzone suffered the injury during Sunday's game against the Cubs when he collided with the outfield wall. The Mariners expect to have a better idea later Monday as to how much time Canzone might miss. Jonatan Clase has taken Canzone's roster spot and could see some starts in left field in his place, although Luke Raley and/or Dylan Moore might get more reps.

Canzone was removed from Sunday's game against the Cubs with an apparent shoulder injury, Shannon Drayer of Seattle Sports 710 AM reports.

Canzone suffered the injury during the second inning when he collided with the wall in left field while making a catch. The 26-year-old didn't have a plate appearance prior to the injury and should be considered day-to-day as he continues to be evaluated.

Canzone isn't in the Mariners' lineup for Saturday's game against the Cubs.

  • Mariners' Dominic Canzone: Not starting against lefty

Canzone isn't in the Mariners' lineup for Friday's game against the Cubs.

The Cubs will send southpaw Jordan Wicks to the bump for Friday's contest, so Canzone will retreat to the dugout for the start of the game. His absence will allow Dylan Moore to pick up a start in left field and bat eighth.

Dylan Moore will fill in for Canzone in left field, while Luis Urias starts in place of Rojas at third base.

  • Mariners' Dominic Canzone: Goes deep in loss

Canzone went 2-for-4 with a two-run homer in Sunday's 12-4 loss to the Brewers.

Canzone left the yard for the second time this season, but it merely cut the Mariners' deficit to 12-4. Sunday was the first start in the early season during which Canzone did not strike out, as the 26-year-old is slashing just .174/.174/.435 with five RBI and a 0:9 BB:K in 23 plate appearances.

  • Mariners' Dominic Canzone: Launches three-run homer

Canzone went 1-for-4 with a three-run home run in Monday's 5-4 win against Cleveland.

Canzone came into the contest having gone hitless over his first eight plate appearances before belting a 411-foot, three-run homer to center field in the second inning to give Seattle a 4-0 lead. The outfielder didn't reach base again, but his long ball ended up accounting for the majority of the Mariners' runs in the close win. However, Canzone is just 1-for-12 with six strikeouts on the season, so he's yet to really get going as he seeks to nail down a starting role.

  • Mariners' Dominic Canzone: Projected as Opening Day starter

Daniel Kramer of MLB.com projects Canzone as the Mariners' Opening Day starter in left field following an impressive spring.

Canzone finished Cactus League play having slashed .316/.372/1.109 with four doubles, four home runs and 11 RBI across 43 plate appearances. A trade-deadline acquisition from the Diamondbacks last season, Canzone also swiped a pair of bases during the exhibition slate, and he should see plenty of playing time against right-handed pitching beginning with Thursday's regular-season opener against the Red Sox.

  • Mariners' Dominic Canzone: Swipes bag in spring action

Canzone went 1-for-3 with a stolen base in a Cactus League win over the Angels on Thursday.

He pushed his spring batting average to .231, while the stolen base was his first of the spring. The 26-year-old arrived via trade with the Diamondbacks last season and put in time in the corner outfield spots and designated hitter, but he limped to a .215 average and .248 OBP. However, Canzone was a stellar hitter in the minor leagues and struck out just 17.0 percent of the time with Seattle last season, lending credence to the notion he could be primed for much better production in 2024 now that he has some experience against big-league arms under his belt.
