Angels' Caden Dana: Recalled by Halos
The Angels recalled Dana from Triple-A Salt Lake on Saturday.
Dana has spent most of the season in Triple-A, where he has a 3-4 record across eight starts with a 5.21 ERA, 1.45 WHIP and 41:16 K:BB across 38 innings. He made an appearance out of the Angels' bullpen against the Guardians on April 4, when he allowed two runs on four hits and one walk while striking out two across three innings. The Angels designated Shaun Anderson for assignment in order to make room on the 26-man roster for Dana, who is expected to serve in a long-relief role, per Sam Blum of The Athletic.

Dana was called up by the Halos on Saturday, and he'll return to the minors after giving up three runs over three innings out of the bullpen in a 6-2 loss to the Marlins. The right-hander should return to the rotation at Salt Lake, where he has a 5.21 ERA, 1.45 WHIP and 41:16 K:BB over 38 innings this season.

Angels' Caden Dana: Dispatched to Triple-A
The Angels optioned Dana to Triple-A Salt Lake on Sunday.
Dana's stay with the Angels lasted just two days, as he was recalled from Triple-A on Friday and appeared out of the bullpen later that night in an 8-6 loss to the Guardians. Since he covered three innings and gave up two earned runs on four hits and one walk in that appearance, Dana was unlikely to be available for another day or two, so the Angels opted to swap him off the active roster in favor of a fresh arm in right-hander Michael Darrell-Hicks, who was called up from Salt Lake. Dana is expected to move back into the rotation upon his return to the Triple-A club.

Angels' Caden Dana: Works three relief frames Friday
Dana allowed two runs on four hits and one walk while striking out two batters over three innings in Friday's loss to Cleveland.
Dana was recalled from Triple-A Salt Lake ahead of Friday's contest and ended up logging a sizeable workload of 56 pitches (34 strikes). The right-hander gave up a pair of runs, one of which came on Jose Ramirez's third homer of the game. Dana's call-up came as a result of Ryan Johnson landing on the paternity list, so the former's stay on the big-league roster may not last long.

Angels' Caden Dana: Recalled from Triple-A
The Angels recalled Dana from Triple-A Salt Lake on Friday.
Dana will join the big-league squad as the roster replacement for Ryan Johnson, who was placed on the paternity list Friday. Dana made three starts for the Halos last season, allowing 11 earned runs over 10.1 innings while striking out eight and walking seven. He'll presumably work out of the bullpen during his current stint in the big leagues and is likely to be sent back down to Triple-A once Johnson returns.

Angels' Caden Dana: Moved to Triple-A
The Angels optioned Dana to Triple-A Salt Lake on Saturday.
Dana was wildly inconsistent across his three Cactus League outings. He surrendered three earned runs over 1.2 innings in his spring debut before tossing three scoreless frames in his second start. He then struggled again in his most recent outing, giving up seven runs in one inning while striking out two and walking four. The 21-year-old prospect will look to find his footing in Triple-A to begin the year and attempt to return to the Angels' rotation at some point this summer.

Angels' Caden Dana: Shines in spring start
Dana pitched three perfect innings Thursday, compiling three strikeouts against the Cubs in a Cactus League contest.
The 21-year-old wasn't originally slated to start, but he stepped into that role after Jack Kochanowicz was scratched due to an illness. Dana thrived against Chicago, retiring all nine batters he faced on 36 pitches. He'd struggled in his first first appearance this spring, allowing three runs over 1.2 frames against Seattle.

Angels' Caden Dana: Optioned, shut down for year
The Angels announced Monday that Dana has been optioned to Double-A Rocket City and won't pitch for the rest of the season in an effort to ensure he enters the offseason at full health, MLB.com reports.
Dana has been hit hard since being promoted at the beginning of the month, surrendering 11 earned runs on 14 hits and seven walks while registering eight strikeouts over 10.1 innings. While this isn't the type of performance he was looking for in his first taste of the big leagues, Dana was the second-youngest player in the majors (behind the Brewers' Jackson Chourio) before his demotion and could win a big-league rotation spot in the spring.
