  • Rangers' Wyatt Langford: Enjoys monster four-hit game

Langford went 4-for-5 with a two-run home run during Friday's 7-3 win over the Astros.

Langford kept the momentum going after his great series against the Angels and was retired only one time in Game 1 against the Astros. In the last four games, the outfielder has multiple hits in three of them, compiling a .563 batting average, two home runs and seven RBI. After hitting another homer Friday, the 23-year-old is up to 15 on the season, only one off his total from his entire rookie season.

  • Rangers' Wyatt Langford: Swipes two bags

Langford went 2-for-4 with two steals and two runs scored in Wednesday's 11-8 loss to the Angels.

Langford stole second and third base in the fourth inning, bumping his season total to 13 through 72 games. Both of his runs were game-tying scores in what was a back-and-forth game. He has multiple hits in two consecutive games and bounced back quickly from an oblique injury that landed him on the 10-day injured list. Langford is 5-for-18 with three walks, two extra-base hits, four RBI, two steals and six runs scored in five games since coming off the IL.

  • Rangers' Wyatt Langford: Season-high four RBI in rout

Langford went 2-for-4 with a home run, four RBI, a double, a walk and two total runs scored in Tuesday's 13-1 victory over the Angels.

Langford has been dropped from the second spot in the lineup since coming off the injured list, but it didn't take him long to respond by setting a season high in RBI on Tuesday. While it was certainly an encouraging performance, it's possible the speedy outfielder will need to string together some more positive showings before manager Bruce Bochy considers moving him back up the lineup given his recent struggles. Across his last 221 plate appearances, Langford is slashing a woeful .204/.285/.357 with eight home runs, six doubles, 23 RBI and seven stolen bases.

  • Rangers' Wyatt Langford: On base twice in return

Langford went 1-for-3 with a walk and two runs scored in Saturday's 7-4 win over the Padres.

Langford was activated from the 10-day injured list earlier in the day and slotted back into his usual spot in left field. He batted sixth in the order Saturday, but Langford was locked in as the No. 2 batter prior to his injury.

  • Rangers' Wyatt Langford: Homers in rehab game

Langford (oblique) started in left field and went 1-for-3 with a solo home run for Double-A Frisco on Thursday.

Thursday's appearance was the first of a rehab assignment for Langford and may be his only one. He did not play Friday, and MLB.com reports the Rangers are expected to activate Langford ahead of Saturday's game against Padres.

  • Rangers' Wyatt Langford: Back in action

Langford (oblique) was activated from the 10-day injured list ahead of Saturday's game against the Padres.

Langford missed less than two weeks with the oblique injury and is batting sixth in his return. He hit .224/.286/.342 with a 29.8 percent strikeout rate in 18 June games and has 13 homers and 11 steals in 67 games this season.

  • Rangers' Wyatt Langford: Playing rehab game Thursday

Langford (oblique) will begin a rehab assignment with Double-A Frisco on Thursday.

It may be the only rehab game he plays, as Langford is expected to be activated from the 10-day injured list prior to Saturday's game in San Diego, presuming all goes well. Langford has been sidelined since late June with a left oblique strain.

  • Rangers' Wyatt Langford: Expected back Saturday

Rangers president of baseball operations Chris Young said Monday that Langford (oblique) is expected to return from the 10-day injured list Saturday when first eligible, Shawn McFarland of The Dallas Morning News reports.

Manager Bruce Bochy told McFarland that Langford will likely head out on a rehab assignment later this week, and if all goes well, the 23-year-old outfielder will rejoin the big club this weekend. Langford is slashing a disappointing .232/.308/.421 for the Rangers this season and has been on the IL twice due to oblique injuries.

  • Rangers' Wyatt Langford: Placed on IL

The Rangers placed Langford on the 10-day injured list Friday, retroactive to June 25, due to a left oblique strain.

Langford underwent testing on his left side earlier this week, which revealed a mild strain in his oblique. He's eligible to return from the IL on July 5, but oblique strains tend to take longer to heal, and Langford may need to get some reps on a rehab assignment before being cleared to return to the majors. Alejandro Osuna is starting in left field in Friday's game against the Mariners and should see more playing time for as long as Langford is sidelined. Michael Helman was recalled by the Rangers from Triple-A Round Rock in a corresponding move.

  • Rangers' Wyatt Langford: Dealing with strained oblique

Langford said Friday that he's dealing with a minor strained left oblique and believes the Rangers will give him a few days off before deciding about placing him on the 10-day injured list, Jeff Wilson of AllDLLS.com reports.

Langford is not in the lineup for Friday's series opener against the Mariners and could sit out the entire weekend after he was removed from Wednesday's game with the injury. Langford missed time at the beginning of the season with an oblique strain and has also dealt with some back stiffness of late. The 23-year-old is slashing .232/.308/.421 with 13 home runs, 31 RBI, 32 runs scored and 11 stolen bases across 292 plate appearances this season.

  • Rangers' Wyatt Langford: Battling side tightness

Langford's absence from the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Orioles is due to left side tightness, Jeff Wilson of AllDLLS.com reports.

The 23-year-old will undergo medical testing once the Rangers return home after Wednesday's series finale in Baltimore. There doesn't seem to be significant concern for Langford's injury, though he could still end up requiring a stint on the injured list.
