Red Sox's Chase Shugart: Optioned to Triple-A
The Red Sox optioned Shugart to Triple-A Worcester on Sunday, Pete Abraham of The Boston Globe reports.
Shugart was recalled by the Red Sox on Sept. 1, and in his last outing Saturday against the White Sox, he gave up a three-run home run to Andrew Benintendi in the top of the seventh inning. In Triple-A this season, Shugart has a 4.55 ERA and 1.35 WHIP across 65.1 innings. The move makes room for right-hander Richard Fitts, who will start Sunday in his major-league debut against the White Sox.

Red Sox's Chase Shugart: Call-up official
The Red Sox recalled Shugart from Triple-A Worcester on Sunday.
He'll be up with the big club for the second time this season after previously making one appearance with the Red Sox on Aug. 15, when he tossed 2.2 innings and gave up one earned run in his MLB debut. He'll likely occupy a low-leverage role in the Boston bullpen.

Red Sox's Chase Shugart: Sent back to minors
The Red Sox optioned Shugart to Triple-A Worcester on Friday, Gabrielle Starr of the Boston Herald reports.
Shugart made one relief appearance during his first stint in the majors, allowing one run over 2.2 innings. He's making room on the roster for the return of Cooper Criswell, who was activated from the COVID-19 injured list.
