Braves' Huascar Ynoa: Back on 60-day IL
Ynoa (elbow) was placed on the 60-day injured list Thursday, retroactive to March 27.
Ynoa finished last season on the 60-day IL after he underwent Tommy John surgery in September, so his move back there to open 2023 was inevitable. The 24-year-old is expected to miss the entire season but could be ready for spring training in 2024.

Braves' Huascar Ynoa: Lands on 60-day IL
Ynoa (elbow) was recalled and placed on the 60-day injured list Wednesday.
Ynoa has been in the minors since August, but he underwent Tommy John surgery in early September. He'll likely miss the entire 2023 campaign, and Wednesday's transaction is simply procedural to make room on the 40-man roster.

Braves' Huascar Ynoa: Undergoes Tommy John surgery
Ynoa underwent Tommy John surgery Wednesday to repair a torn UCL in his right elbow.
The 24-year-old hadn't pitched for Triple-A Gwinnett since Aug. 24, though no injury had been reported prior to the surgery announcement from Atlanta on Wednesday. Ynoa will miss the rest of the season and is also likely to be sidelined for the entirety of 2023.

Braves' Huascar Ynoa: Optioned to Triple-A
Ynoa was optioned to Triple-A Gwinnett on Wednesday.
Ynoa will make his way back to Gwinnett after being called up Sunday, failing to appear in a game before being sent down. The move opens a spot in Atlanta's bullpen for Kirby Yates (elbow), who was reinstated from the 60-day injured list Wednesday.

Braves' Huascar Ynoa: Rejoins big club
Ynoa was recalled from Triple-A Gwinnett on Sunday.
The 24-year-old opened the season in Atlanta's rotation but was demoted after he surrendered 10 runs in his first two starts, and he'll now return to the major-league club with Ian Anderson heading down to Triple-A. Ynoa may not immediately enter the rotation since the team has scheduled days off Monday and Thursday, but he could be in the mix for a start during, or in the wake of, Saturday's doubleheader against the Marlins.

Braves' Huascar Ynoa: Demoted after rough start
Atlanta optioned Ynoa to Triple-A Gwinnett on Tuesday.
The demotion is an unwelcome development for fantasy managers hoping to get a two-start week out of Ynoa, who took the hill for Atlanta's series opener in Los Angeles on Monday. Unfortunately, the right-hander labored through 3.2 innings, giving up five runs on four hits and four walks en route to taking his second loss in as many starts this season. Since opening the 2021 campaign with a 2.23 ERA and 0.89 WHIP through his first seven starts and then being shut down for an extended period with a broken hand, Ynoa hasn't re-emerged as a reliable rotation option for Atlanta. The reigning World Series champions had recently added Bryce Elder to the mix as a sixth starter, so Atlanta will likely just condense to a five-man rotation now that Ynoa is headed to the minors.

Braves' Huascar Ynoa: Knocked around by Dodgers
Ynoa (0-2) completed 3.2 innings against the Dodgers on Monday, allowing five runs on four hits and four walks while striking out four. He was charged with the loss.
The right-hander struggled with his control in the contest, issuing four walks and throwing only 40 of 75 pitches for strikes. When he did get the ball over the plate, the Dodgers largely capitalized, knocking a pair of extra-base hits against him, including a Freddie Freeman solo homer in the first inning. Ynoa showed some promise with a 4.05 ERA and 100:25 K:BB last season, but he hasn't pitched well in 2022, allowing 10 earned runs and posting an 8:6 K:BB across 6.2 frames. He'll try to turn things around in his next start, which is tentatively slated to come at home against Miami on Sunday.

Braves' Huascar Ynoa: Start pushed back
Ynoa is now scheduled to start Monday's game against the Dodgers, David O'Brien of The Athletic reports.
Ynoa was initially slated to start Sunday's series finale, but he'll instead get an extra day of rest after Bryce Elder was pushed up in the rotation to start against San Diego. Ynoa will attempt to bounce back after he allowed five runs on seven hits and two walks while striking out four in three innings to take the loss Monday against the Nationals.

Braves' Huascar Ynoa: Hit hard in Monday's loss
Ynoa (0-1) took the loss in Monday's 11-2 rout at the hands of the Nationals, coughing up five runs on seven hits and two walks over three innings. He struck out four.
The young right-hander was able to escape trouble in the first two innings, but things fell apart for Ynoa in the third. He threw 41 of 72 pitches for strikes before getting the hook, but the Atlanta bullpen didn't have any more success than he did. Ynoa will look to rebound in his next start, scheduled for Sunday in San Diego.

Braves' Huascar Ynoa: Favorite for rotation spot
Ynoa is a favorite to land a rotation spot to begin the season, Justin Toscano of The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports.
The status of Ynoa's health was unclear when he reported to camp after he suffered from shoulder inflammation during the postseason. However, he threw three scoreless innings in a Grapefruit League appearance against the Twins on Tuesday, seemingly answering any short-term concerns. Across 91 innings in 2021, Ynoa showed promise by maintaining a 4.05 ERA and 1.11 WHIP with a 100:25 K:BB.

Braves' Huascar Ynoa: Looks healthy Tuesday
Ynoa gave up two hits over three scoreless innings in Tuesday's Grapefruit League game against the Twins. He didn't walk or strike out a batter.
The right-hander dealt with injuries in the second half of last season, including shoulder inflammation during the playoffs, but Ynoa looked good in his first appearance this spring. He entered the game in the fourth inning, following Max Fried, and faced a Minnesota squad that trotted out most of its Opening Day lineup. Ynoa could be in the mix for a rotation spot if he proves he's healthy in camp, but the 23-year-old's lack of a third pitch and potential durability issues might make him a better fit in the bullpen.

Braves' Huascar Ynoa: Scratched with shoulder issue
Ynoa was scratched from starting Game 4 of the NLCS against the Dodgers on Wednesday due to right shoulder inflammation, David O'Brien of The Athletic reports.
The right-hander was announced as the starter for Atlanta's bullpen game earlier Wednesday, but Jesse Chavez will instead receive the nod in Game 4. Ynoa's only work in the playoffs so far was a one-inning relief appearance against Milwaukee, and the injury will now leave Atlanta shorthanded for the bullpen game. It's unclear if the team is considering removing Ynoa from the NLCS roster, which would also make him unavailable for the World Series should Atlanta advance.
