  • Diamondbacks' Corbin Carroll: Absent from Arizona lineup

Carroll (hand) is not in the lineup for Thursday's game in Toronto.

Carroll exited Wednesday's 8-1 loss after being struck on the left hand by a pitch. X-rays came back negative, and Carroll tried to talk his way into Thursday's lineup, per Jose M. Romero of The Arizona Republic, suggesting he has a good chance to return to action Friday in Colorado. Randal Grichuk will start in right field and bat seventh for the Diamondbacks on Thursday.

  • Diamondbacks' Corbin Carroll: X-rays negative on hand

X-rays on Carroll's left hand came back negative following his removal from Wednesday's game against Toronto after getting hit by a pitch, Jody Jackson of Bally Sports Arizona reports.

Carroll took a 91-mph sinker off his hand during the eighth inning of Wednesday's loss, but it appears he escaped the incident without suffering any major damage. He may sit out Thursday's series finale if some soreness persists, though a trip to the injured list shouldn't be necessary.

  • Diamondbacks' Corbin Carroll: Reaches 20-homer mark

Carroll went 1-for-4 with a solo home run and a second run scored in Friday's 5-1 win over the Padres.

Carroll has hit safely in five straight games, going 6-for-21 (.286) with two homers and two triples in that span. The outfielder was bothered by a tight hamstring last weekend, but it hasn't appeared to affect his performance at the plate since he rejoined the lineup Sunday. He's now at 20 homers on the year, and he's added a .260/.338/.582 slash line with 44 RBI, 55 runs scored, 10 stolen bases, eight triples and 12 doubles over 68 contests.

  • Diamondbacks' Corbin Carroll: Legs out two triples

Carroll went 2-for-5 with two triples, two RBI and two runs scored in Tuesday's 10-3 win over Seattle.

Carroll has been dealing with a tight hamstring, but one would never surmise that watching him run around the bases Tuesday. He has a league-leading eight triples through 66 games and is zeroing in on a third consecutive season of double-digit triples. Carroll ranks sixth in MLB in slugging (.581) and 10th in OPS (.921).

  • Diamondbacks' Corbin Carroll: Playing through tight hamstring

Carroll has been dealing with a tight hamstring but was in the Diamondbacks' lineup Monday and went 1-for-5 with a solo home run and a walk in a 8-4 win over the Mariners in 11 innings, Jack Sommers of SI.com reports.

The hamstring issue offers an explanation as to why Carroll was out of the lineup for consecutive games over the weekend against the Reds, although he did appear as a pinch hitter in one of those contests. While Carroll appears set to continue playing through the hamstring issue, it's possible he will be less aggressive on the basepaths. Carroll was unsuccessful in his lone stolen base attempt in June and has just one steal over his last 19 games.

  • Diamondbacks' Corbin Carroll: Clubs 19th homer

Carroll went 1-for-5 with a solo home run and a walk in Monday's 8-4 extra-innings win over the Mariners.

Carroll opened the scoring by leading off the bottom of the first inning with his homer. The outfielder has gone 6-for-20 (.300) with three homers and six RBI over seven games in June, but he was on the bench for consecutive contests over the weekend in Cincinnati, likely in effort to get his bat going. He has just one multi-hit effort over his last 20 games, batting a meager .181 (13-for-72) despite his nine extra-base hits in that span. For the season, the outfielder is at a .258/.339/.569 slash line with 19 homers, 41 RBI, 50 runs scored and 10 stolen bases across 65 contests.

  • Diamondbacks' Corbin Carroll: Launches two homers in win

Carroll went 3-for-4 with a walk, two home runs, four RBI and three runs in Tuesday's 8-3 win against Atlanta.

Carroll entered the contest in a 6-for-47 slump and hadn't produced a multi-hit game since May 16, but his bat came alive Tuesday with a solo homer in the fifth inning and a three-run blast in the ninth. The 25-year-old is already up to 18 homers this season and has a .262/.336/.578 slash line with 10 stolen bases, 39 RBI and 47 runs through 60 contests.

  • Diamondbacks' Corbin Carroll: Launches early homer in loss

Carroll went 1-for-5 with a solo home run and an additional run scored in Tuesday's 9-6 loss to the Pirates.

Carroll opened the scoring with a leadoff homer in the bottom of the first inning, taking Mike Burrows' third pitch of the game out to right field. Prior to Tuesday, Carroll had gone 0-for-14 over his previous four contests. The outfielder's slump has him down to a .259/.329/.561 slash line on the year, but he's added 16 homers, 35 RBI, 42 runs scored and nine stolen bases over 55 games. Carroll is too talented to stay quiet for long, so expect him to get back on track sooner rather than later.

  • Diamondbacks' Corbin Carroll: Getting rare day off

Carroll isn't in the lineup for Saturday's game against the Cardinals, John Denton of MLB.com reports.

Carroll isn't typically one to sit down against left-handed starters, but he'll be on the bench for Saturday's matchup against southpaw Matthew Liberatore. Lourdes Gurriel, Tim Tawa and Randal Grichuk will start across the outfield while Carroll rests.

  • Diamondbacks' Corbin Carroll: Swats homer in loss

Carroll went 1-for-5 with a two-run home run in Tuesday's 4-3 extra-inning loss to the Dodgers.

Carroll gave the Diamondbacks a two-run lead with his 10th-inning blast, but Shelby Miller couldn't make it stick. Over his last eight games, Carroll is 10-for-35 (.286) with four homers, six RBI and four stolen bases. The outfielder has reached the 15-homer mark for the season while adding 34 RBI, 40 runs scored, nine steals and a .277/.349/.597 slash line over 49 contests. He's on pace to shatter his career high of 25 long balls from 2023, and he's got the skills to add big numbers in many other areas.
