Marlins' Kyle Stowers: Recalled, batting third
The Marlins recalled Stowers from Triple-A Jacksonville on Wednesday. He'll start in left field and bat third in the Marlins' series finale against the Rays.
Stowers had been playing with the Orioles' Triple-A affiliate in Norfolk before the Marlins acquired him Tuesday in the deal that sent southpaw Trevor Rogers to Baltimore. Though he wasn't able to join the Marlins in time for Tuesday's game, Stowers will join Miami's active roster ahead of Wednesday's contest and should settle into a near-everyday role in the Marlins outfield. Stowers has a .797 OPS with one home run in 19 games at the major-league level in 2024 and an .877 OPS with 18 long balls in 58 contests at Triple-A.
