Lowry (hip) has been removed from the injury report for Friday's game against Orlando.
After a recent five-game absence due to a right hip injury, Lowry returned to action Tuesday and played 13 minutes off the bench in Tuesday's 110-104 win over the Hornets. He then sat out Wednesday's 106-102 loss to Orlando, though his absence was strictly for maintenance purposes in the second leg of the back-to-back set. Lowry will be available for the rematch with Orlando but may not see a dramatic uptick in playing time.

Lowry made his return to action after missing the 76ers' previous five games with a right hip strain. The 38-year-old had started in each of his prior five appearances before suffering the injury, but he looks poised to handle a regular bench role moving forward with Tyrese Maxey back healthy again after missing six games in November with a hamstring strain. With rookie Jared McCain having emerged as the 76ers' lead guard off the bench, Lowry may be hard pressed to earn much more than 15-to-20 minutes per game even once he's further removed from the hip injury.

Lowry likely suffered the injury in Monday's 106-89 loss to Miami. With Tyrese Maxey (hamstring) sidelined, Lowry made his fifth start of the season and saw a season high in minutes. The increased workload didn't lead to increased production, however. Lowry was the likely candidate to enter the starting lineup in Maxey's place, but it's still nice to hear confirmation from head coach Nick Nurse. Lowry has already made four starts this season, averaging 8.3 points, 2.0 rebounds, 1.8 assists and 2.0 steals in 21.8 minutes. Nurse also noted that Reggie Jackson would work as the backup to Lowry, while Jeff Dowtin could also factor into the rotation in the backcourt.

Lowry totaled 14 points (3-5 FG, 3-5 3Pt, 5-5 FT), one rebound, two assists and three steals over 29 minutes during Friday's 115-107 loss to the Raptors.
Lowry started for the first time this season, and coincidentally, he did it against the Raptors, the franchise for which he played nine seasons between 2012 and 2020. The veteran floor general was efficient, and he probably did enough to remain in the starting lineup for the time being -- at least until Joel Embiid (knee) and Paul George (knee) are back in the mix.
