Joseph ended with three points (1-7 FG, 1-6 3Pt), two rebounds, two assists and one block in 20 minutes during Thursday's 128-109 loss to the Thunder. Joseph has been on the fringes of the Warriors' rotation for most of the early portion of the regular season, but he's now played double-digit minutes in back-to-back matchups. However, his uptick in playing time has presumably been due to Stephen Curry (ankle) missing back-to-back matchups. Once Curry is back in action, Joseph's role will likely decrease once again.... Warriors' Cory Joseph: Cleared for Wednesday's game
Joseph (back) will play in Wednesday's game against the Kings, C.J. Holmes of the San Francisco Chronicle reports. Joseph has been nursing a back strain throughout the preseason, but he's received the green light for Wednesday's tilt. With Chris Paul coming off the bench for the contest, Joseph is expected to fulfill the third slot on the depth chart.... See More ... See Less -
Warriors' Cory Joseph: Making progress
Joseph (back) is officially questionable for Wednesday's preseason contest against Sacramento. Joseph has been absent for three prior preseason contests, although it appears he's nearing a return. The 32-year-old is competing with Gary Payton, Rodney McGruder and rookie Brandin Podziemski for backup guard minutes.... See More ... See Less -
Warriors' Cory Joseph: Out again Sunday
Joseph (back) is out for Sunday's exhibition against the Kings, Dalton Johnson of NBC Sports reports. Joseph continues to deal with a back injury, but head coach Steve Kerr expects him to play at some point during the preseason. His next opportunity to suit up will be Wednesday in a rematch with the Kings.... See More ... See Less -
Warriors' Cory Joseph: Won't play Friday
Joseph (back) has been ruled out for Friday's preseason game against the Lakers, Shayna Rubin of The San Jose Mercury News reports. Joseph has been dealing with a lower back lumbar strain since early October. He doesn't expect it to be a long-term concern and was able to participate in Wednesday's light practice session, but he'll be unavailable Friday. His next chance to make his preseason debut will be Sunday against the Kings.... See More ... See Less -
Warriors' Cory Joseph: Returns to practice
Joseph (back) participated in Wednesday's light practice session, C.J. Holmes of the San Francisco Chroniclereports. Joseph is dealing with a lower back lumbar strain but doesn't expect it to be a long-term issue. However, his status for Friday's preseason matchup with the Lakers is uncertain.... See More ... Warriors' Cory Joseph: Dealing with back issue
The Warriors announced Monday that Joseph is dealing with a lower back lumbar strain and will be re-evaluated in two weeks, Anthony Slater of The Athletic reports. Joseph signed with the Warriors at the beginning of July, but he'll be unavailable for the start of the preseason due to his injury. However, he said he's dealt with a similar injury in the past and doesn't expect it to be a long-term concern, Madeline Kenney of The San Jose Mercury News reports. A better idea of his status should come into focus once he's re-evaluated, but it's possible he's at least eased into action to begin the regular season. Once he's healthy, Joseph will compete for a backcourt role behind Chris Paul and Stephen Curry.... See More ... See Less -
Warriors' Cory Joseph: Signs with Golden State
Joseph signed a one-year contract with the Warriors on Sunday, Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN reports. Joseph had been with the Pistons since March of 2021, and he averaged 6.9 points and 3.5 assists in 19.8 minutes per game over 62 appearances with the club during the 2022-23 campaign. The Warriors are reshaping their backcourt during the offseason, and Joseph will compete for a role behind Chris Paul and Stephen Curry this season.... See More ... See Less -
Pistons' Cory Joseph: Nine dimes in loss
Joseph totaled five points (2-10 FG, 1-7 3Pt, 0-1 FT), four rebounds and nine assists in 37 minutes during Sunday's 103-81 loss to Chicago. Joseph saw a major role off the bench during the final weeks of the campaign and posted a season-high nine dimes during the Pistons' finale. The veteran point guard is set to be a free agent this summer.... See More ... See Less -
Pistons' Cory Joseph: Posts big line against Houston
Joseph amassed 17 points (7-11 FG, 3-6 3Pt), four rebounds, five assists, one block and one steal in 25 minutes during Friday's 121-115 loss to the Rockets. Joseph has been the steadying presence for the Pistons over the past month. He's been a serviceable fantasy player in that stretch too, returning 10th-round value in nine-category leagues with 13.2 points, 3.9 assists, 2.6 rebounds, 0.8 steals and 2.2 three-pointers.... Pistons' Cory Joseph: Available Monday
Joseph (illness) is available for Monday's game against Milwaukee. Joseph was unavailable Friday due to his illness, but he'll be back in action for Monday's matchup. He's scored in double figures in nine consecutive appearances, averaging 14.3 points and 4.1 assists in 29.0 minutes per game.... See More ... See Less -
Pistons' Cory Joseph: Questionable Monday
Joseph (illness) is questionable for Monday's game against the Bucks. Joseph missed Friday's game with an illness, but it looks like he could return by Monday. If he is able to get back out there, Jaden Ivey would be less likely to log 40-plus minutes.... See More ... See Less -
Pistons' Cory Joseph: Late addition to injury report
Joseph is out for Friday's game versus the Raptors due to a non-COVID illness. Joseph will miss his first game Friday since Feb. 6. With Alec Burks (foot) and Rodney McGruder (foot) also out, Jaden Ivey, Killian Hayes and R.J. Hampton will likely receive heavy workloads in the backcourt. Joseph's next chance to suit up is Monday's matchup with Milwaukee.... See More ... See Less -
Pistons' Cory Joseph: Cools off in loss Thursday
Joseph contributed 13 points (3-7 FG, 3-4 3Pt, 4-5 FT) and two assists over 31 minutes during Thursday's 119-100 loss to Denver. Joseph continues to play meaningful minutes, exceeding 30 for the third straight game. He has now scored double-digits in seven consecutive outings, adding a handful of assists and steals. While this was arguably his worst performance in the past two weeks, managers should continue to hold him as long as he features heavily in the rotation.... See More ... See Less -
Pistons' Cory Joseph: Cleared for Tuesday
Joseph (illness) is available for Tuesday's matchup at Washington. The shorthanded Pistons will have the veteran available despite an illness. Joseph has been reliable lately, averaging 15.2 points, 4.8 assists, 3.2 rebounds and 1.2 steals in 29.2 minutes across the past five games.... See More ... See Less -
Pistons' Cory Joseph: Could sit Tuesday
Joseph is listed as questionable for Tuesday's matchup against the Wizards due to a non-COVID-19-related illness. While the Pistons were shorthanded in Monday's win over the Pacers, Joseph received 32 minutes and turned in a season-high 22 points (8-14 FG, 5-8 3Pt, 1-1 FT) to go with five rebounds, five assists and one steal. Whether he's dealing with a legitimate illness or is a candidate to rest for the second leg of the back-to-back set is uncertain, but even if Joseph is cleared ahead of Tuesday's 7 p.m. ET opening tip, he could be in line for a smaller workload than he received Monday. If Joseph is out, he will join a lengthy list of players on the sideline, so there could be ample opportunities for R.J. Hampton and Rodney McGruder to carve out larger roles out of the backcourt.... See More ... See Less -
Pistons' Cory Joseph: Leading scorer from second unit
Joseph recorded a season-high 22 points (8-14 FG, 5-8 3Pt, 1-1 FT) with five rebounds, five assists and one steal across 32 minutes during Monday's 117-97 win over the Pacers. The veteran guard ended up leading the Pistons in scoring on a night in which seven different Detroit players scored in double digits, and three of them delivered double-doubles. Joseph has reached double digits himself in five straight contests, and with Jaden Ivey (COVID-19 protocols) and Alec Burks (foot) facing uncertain return dates, the 31-year-old could have some DFS appeal Tuesday against the Wizards.... See More ... See Less -
Pistons' Cory Joseph: Secures season high in scoring
Joseph posted 17 points (6-12 FG, 1-3 3Pt, 4-6 FT), three rebounds, three assists and two steals over 24 minutes during Thursday's 113-103 loss to Charlotte. Joseph led all Pistons players in scoring Thursday, posting a new season-high point total in just 24 minutes of action. Joseph, who held a previous season high of 14 points, has scored in double figures in three consecutive games.... See More ... See Less -
Pistons' Cory Joseph: Gets more run for shorthanded squad
Joseph finished Monday's 110-104 loss to the Trail Blazers with 14 points (6-11 FG, 2-6 3Pt), five rebounds, four assists and one steal in 32 minutes. Though Alec Burks moved into the starting five with Killian Hayes (hand) sitting out, Joseph still saw the bulk of the playing time in the French point guard's absence, playing nine more minutes than Burks. Hayes will remain sidelined for Tuesday's game against the Wizards, while Burks (foot) and another key rotational wing in Hamidou Diallo (ankle) will sit out the second half of the back-to-back set. Even if Joseph doesn't join the starting five Tuesday, he could once again be in store for a 30-plus-minute workload.... See More ... See Less -
Pistons' Cory Joseph: Afforded additional playing time
Joseph finished with nine points (2-3 FG, 1-1 3Pt, 4-4 FT), two rebounds, three assists and one block in 24 minutes during Saturday's 114-90 loss to the Cavaliers. Joseph played a few extra minutes in the loss, sliding up in the rotation after Killian Hayes was forced from the game due to a hand injury. The Pistons have zero incentive to push anyone at this point, meaning Joseph could even shift into the starting lineup should Hayes be forced to miss time. If that is the case, Joseph could be worth a look in deeper formats for anyone in need of assists.... See More ... See Less
