Top Karl-Anthony Towns News

  • Knicks' Karl-Anthony Towns: Big-time effort not enough

Towns logged 35 points (11-17 FG, 4-8 3Pt, 9-11 FT), 12 rebounds, two assists, one block and one steal in 39 minutes during Wednesday's 138-135 overtime loss to the Pacers in Game 1 of the Eastern Conference Finals.

Towns scored a postseason-high 35 points, adding double-digit rebounds for the eighth time in the past 10 games. While both he and Jalen Brunson did everything they could to get the Knicks over the line, a late flurry by the Pacers proved too much. This will feel like one that got away for New York after having led by double digits during the final quarter. Game 2 will be in New York on Friday, with the Knicks needing to win to avoid trailing 2-0 heading back to Indiana.

  • Knicks' Karl-Anthony Towns: Goes for 21 and 12 in Game 6 win

Towns finished Friday's 119-81 victory over the Celtics in Game 6 of the Eastern Conference Semifinals with 21 points (8-20 FG, 1-6 3Pt, 4-4 FT), 12 rebounds, one assist and one steal in 35 minutes.

Towns dominated the undermanned Celtics, racking up his seventh double-double in the past eight games. Although his scoring average has come down during the playoffs, his importance to this team is non-negotiable. After averaging 23.8 points per game during the regular season, that number has dropped to 19.8 across 12 postseason games. The Knicks will now face the Pacers in what promises to be a spicy matchup, with both teams looking to advance to the big dance.

  • Knicks' Karl-Anthony Towns: Double-double streak ends Wednesday

Towns chipped in 19 points (5-11 FG, 1-3 3Pt, 8-9 FT), eight rebounds, one block and one steal across 29 minutes during Wednesday's 127-102 loss to the Celtics in Game 5 of the Eastern Conference Semifinals.

Getting into foul trouble in the first half, Towns finished just two rebounds shy of recording another double-double, and that means his streak of games with at least 10 points and 10 rebounds ended at six contests. The star big man also snapped a streak of three games with at least 20 points, but one subpar showing shouldn't erase what he's been doing throughout the playoffs. Towns is averaging 19.6 points and 12.8 boards per game in the current series against Boston and should play a pivotal role on the team in Game 5 on Friday.

  • Knicks' Karl-Anthony Towns: Posts another double-double

Towns accumulated 23 points (11-15 FG, 0-3 3Pt, 1-1 FT), 11 rebounds, one assist and one block in 36 minutes during Monday's 121-113 win over Boston in Game 4 of the Eastern Conference Semifinals.

Jalen Brunson led the way for the Knicks with an outstanding performance, but Towns was the team's second-best player due to his impressive two-way impact. The star big man has recorded six straight double-doubles in the playoffs and is averaging 19.8 points and 14.0 rebounds per game in the series against Boston.

  • Knicks' Karl-Anthony Towns: Double-double streak continues

Towns finished with 21 points (5-18 FG, 1-5 3Pt, 10-11 FT) and 15 rebounds across 36 minutes during Saturday's 115-93 loss to the Celtics in Game 3 of the Eastern Conference Semifinals.

Towns had a rough shooting performance, as evidenced by the fact that he needed 18 shots to score 21 points, but at least he extended his streak of double-doubles to five games. Towns is averaging 18.7 points and 15.0 boards per game in the series, and while Saturday wasn't his finest outing, he should remain one of the Knicks' go-to offensive weapons throughout the rest of this matchup against Boston.

  • Knicks' Karl-Anthony Towns: Improved performance Wednesday

Towns accumulated 21 points (9-16 FG, 0-1 3Pt, 3-3 FT), 17 rebounds, one assist and one block over 35 minutes during Wednesday's 91-90 win over Boston in Game 2 of the Eastern Conference Semifinals.

Towns delivered an improved performance, largely avoiding foul trouble, allowing him to end as the dominant big man. With Kristaps Porzingis limited due to an ongoing illness, Towns was primarily matched up against Al Horford. Although Horford is a proven commodity, he is at the backend of his career, a fact not lost on Towns. The Knicks will now head back to New York with a 2-0 series lead, only two wins away from advancing to the Conference Finals.

  • Knicks' Karl-Anthony Towns: Limited in Game 1 win

Towns accumulated 14 points (6-13 FG, 0-1 3Pt, 2-2 FT), 13 rebounds and one steal in 31 minutes during Monday's 108-105 overtime victory over the Celtics in Game 1 of the Eastern Conference Semifinals.

Towns picked up three early fouls, limiting him to just 31 minutes. Although he still managed to record a double-double, it was by no means a dominant performance. Foul issues have been an ongoing theme for Towns this season, something he will have to keep in check to ensure he can play a sizeable role in the series.

  • Knicks' Karl-Anthony Towns: Double-doubles in Game 6 win

Towns closed with 10 points (4-10 FG, 0-1 3Pt, 2-3 FT), 15 rebounds, two assists and two steals over 37 minutes before fouling out of Thursday's 116-113 victory over the Pistons in Game 6 of the first round of the Eastern Conference playoffs.

Towns had a limited impact on the offensive end Thursday but still recorded a double-double for the third time in the first round. The star big man averaged 19.7 points, 10.0 rebounds, 2.0 three-pointers, 1.7 assists, 1.3 blocks and 1.2 steals across 37.7 minutes per game during the Knicks' first-round series win over Detroit. He also recorded shooting splits of 48.9/48.0/90.0. Towns and the Knicks are set to face the Celtics in the second round. He averaged 19.8 points, 12.0 rebounds and 1.5 assists across 34.0 minutes per contest in four regular-season games against Boston during the 2024-25 campaign.

  • Knicks' Karl-Anthony Towns: Double-doubles despite loss

Towns notched 17 points (5-14 FG, 2-4 3Pt, 5-6 FT), 11 rebounds, one assist and two blocks in 35 minutes during Tuesday's 106-103 loss to Detroit in Game 5 of the first round of the Eastern Conference playoffs.

Towns recorded his second double-double of the series, although it wasn't enough as the Knicks fell to the Pistons. Towns' production has been serviceable thus far, averaging 21.6 points, 9.0 rebounds, 1.0 steals, 6.0 blocks and 2.4 three-pointers across the five-game series. Game 6 will be in Detroit on Thursday, where Towns and the Knicks will be looking to wrap things up.
