  • Lakers' Gabe Vincent: Still limited to rehab

Coach Darvin Ham said Tuesday that Vincent (knee) hasn't returned to on-court activities yet, Jovan Buha of The Athletic reports.

Vincent is due for another evaluation at the beginning of March, but it sounds like he's at least a few weeks away from returning to game action. The point guard hasn't played since Dec. 20 and has appeared in just one game since Oct. 30.

  • Lakers' Gabe Vincent: Return date still uncertain

Vincent will be re-evaluated following the All-Star break, but he's not expected to be ready to play when the Lakers open their second-half schedule Feb. 22 versus the Warriors, Mike Trudell of Spectrum SportsNet reports.

The Lakers haven't provided any indication that Vincent has suffered a setback in his recovery from the arthroscopic surgery he had on his left knee in late December, but he'll still need some time to regain conditioning and increase his involvement in workouts even if he's cleared for on-court work once re-evaluated. Vincent was expected to serve as a key member of the Lakers' supporting cast this season after signing a three-year, $33 million deal in the offseason, but he's been limited to just five appearances thus far in 2023-24.

  • Lakers' Gabe Vincent: Undergoes successful surgery

The Lakers announced Wednesday that Vincent underwent a successful arthroscopic surgical procedure on his left knee and will re-evaluated in eight weeks.

Vincent has played just five games this season while continuously dealing with swelling in his left knee. In order to fix the issue long-term, the 27-year-old guard opted to undergo surgery, which will sideline him at least through the All-Star break. With LeBron James (knee) being moved to point guard, D'Angelo Russell, Austin Reaves, Jalen Hood-Schifino and Max Christie will all compete for bench minutes in Los Angeles' backcourt.

  • Lakers' Gabe Vincent: Set for knee surgery

Vincent will undergo arthroscopic surgery on his left knee as soon as Tuesday and is expected to miss 6-to-8 weeks, Shams Charania of The Athletic reports.

After joining the Lakers on a three-year, $33 million contract in free agency this summer, Vincent played 20-plus minutes off the bench in the team's four games of the season before experiencing a left knee effusion. He spent nearly seven weeks rehabbing the injury before returning to action Dec. 20 in Chicago, only to miss both of the Lakers' ensuing two games after the swelling in his knee resurfaced. The arthroscopic procedure should provide a more permanent fix for Vincent, though his projected 6-to-8-week recovery timeline likely means that he won't be available to play again until after the All-Star break. With Vincent out for the foreseeable future, the Lakers could look to move D'Angelo Russell back into the starting five after a one-game benching and perhaps reopen a spot in the rotation for youngster Max Christie.

Vincent (knee) is out for Monday's game against the Celtics.

  • Lakers' Gabe Vincent: Won't play Saturday

Vincent is experiencing swelling in his knee and won't play Saturday against the Thunder, Dave McMenamin of ESPN.com reports.

Vincent was listed as probable Friday, but he suffered another setback in his recovery, and he's now experiencing some swelling, so the next steps are to be determined. It wouldn't be shocking if Vincent is set for another multi-week spell on the sidelines.

  • Lakers' Gabe Vincent: Now doubtful

Vincent (knee) has been downgraded to doubtful ahead of Saturday's game against the Thunder, Ryan Ward of LakersNation.com reports.

Vincent's downgrade comes as a bit of a surprise considering he was deemed probable on the Lakers' initial injury report. The guard has appeared in just one game since the start of November due to a left knee injury. If Vincent ends up sitting, Max Christie, Austin Reaves and Jalen Hood-Schifino will be the likely candidates to see more minutes.

Vincent is expected to return to action Saturday after missing the Laker's previous game due to left knee injury maintenance. However, the 27-year-old guard will likely be on a minutes restriction, as Wednesday's appearance -- three points, three assists and a rebound in 14 minutes during a losing effort in Chicago -- was his first game since Oct. 30.

Lakers coach Darvin Ham said Vincent (knee) is available for Wednesday's game versus the Bulls but will be on a minutes restriction, Khobi Price of The Orange County Register reports.

He was averaging 6.0 points, 3.0 assists, 1.5 steals and 1.0 rebounds in 28.3 minutes across his first four appearances for the Lakers before going down to injury. However, Ham anticipates Vincent playing between 14 and 17 minutes against Chicago.
