Dowin was waived by the Raptors on Friday, Blake Murphy of Sportsnet reports. This isn't a big surprise, as Dowtin's non-guaranteed deal was due to be partially guaranteed on Saturday. The 76ers hold Dowtin's G League rights, so there's a good chance he ends up in Philadelphia.... See More ... See Less

Raptors' Jeff Dowtin: Good to go Friday
Dowtin (ankle) is available for Friday's preseason finale against Washington, Josh Lewenberg of TSN.ca reports. Dowtin had been dealing with an ankle injury, but it appears he's moved past the issue. While he'll be available, there's no guarantee Dowtin will see any playing time, as Toronto has its entire roster available and will presumably use the final exhibition as a dress rehearsal for the regular season.... Raptors' Jeff Dowtin: Remains out Tuesday
Dowtin (ankle) didn't play in Tuesday's 106-102 preseason win over the Bulls. It's unclear if Dowtin's absence is due to still recovery from ankle surgery or a removal from Toronto's rotation. Either way, his next chance to suit up is Friday's preseason matchup with Washington.... See More ... See Less -
Raptors' Jeff Dowtin: Doesn't play Sunday
Dowtin didn't play in Sunday's 112-99 preseason win over the Kings. Dowtin missed Summer League play while recovering from ankle surgery that he underwent following the 2022-23 season. He's been participating in practices during training camp, so it's unclear whether his absence from Sunday's matchup was due to his offseason ankle issue. The 26-year-old is on a non-guaranteed deal ahead of the 2023-24 campaign and will have to compete for a roster spot over the next few weeks.... See More ... See Less -
Raptors' Jeff Dowtin: Signs training camp deal
Dowtin (ankle) signed a training camp deal with the Raptors on Saturday, Shams Charania of The Athletic reports. Dowtin missed all of Summer League after undergoing an offseason surgery on his right ankle. Still, he will get a chance to earn a roster spot in training camp after spending the 2022-23 season as a two-way player for Toronto. As part of the deal, Dowtin will receive a significant salary guarantee if he ends up on the Raptors' opening night roster.... See More ... See Less -
Raptors' Jeff Dowtin: Won't play in Summer League
Dowtin (ankle) won't play in any of Toronto's Summer League contests, Vivek Jacob of the Raptors' official site reports. Dowtin operated under a two-way deal with the Raptors last year and made just 25 NBA appearances, averaging 2.4 points in 10.4 minutes per game. He underwent ankle surgery following the 2022-23 campaign and will remain sidelined throughout Summer League action, but there's been no indication the undrafted guard out of Rhode Island (2020) is in danger of missing the start of next season. With Fred VanVleet no longer in the mix, Dowtin could compete for a sizable role with the Raptors in 2023-24.... See More ... See Less -
Raptors' Jeff Dowtin: Inactive against Celtics
Dowtin (not injury related) won't play in Wednesday's game versus Boston, Michael Grange of Sportsnet.ca reports. Dowtin has run out of NBA games on his two-way deal. The Raptors have until Thursday afternoon to decide if they want to convert his contract to a standard deal for the rest of the season. If Toronto opts not to, Dowtin's 2022-23 campaign will be over.... See More ... See Less -
Raptors' Jeff Dowtin: Makes impact in easy win
Dowtin recorded nine points (3-7 FG, 1-2 3Pt, 2-3 FT), three rebounds, four assists and three steals across 29 minutes during Friday's 118-97 win over the Pistons. Dowtin was given some extra run in an easy win with the Raptors missing Gary Trent (elbow), Precious Achiuwa (hamstring) and Scottie Barnes (wrist). The four assists and three steals both marked career highs for the second-year pro out of Rhode Island. He may stay in the rotation Sunday against the Wizards if the same trio of teammates remains sidelined.... See More ... See Less -
Raptors' Jeff Dowtin: Gets light run Wednesday
Dowtin (ankle) played six minutes off the bench Wednesday in the Raptors' 118-114 loss to the Pacers, finishing with two points (1-1 FG) and no other statistics. Dowtin, one of Toronto's two two-way players, missed the G League Raptors 905's most recent game Tuesday against the College Park Skyhawks due to a listed right ankle injury, but he was able to play through the issue for the shorthanded NBA squad Wednesday. Toronto ruled out six players due to injury ahead of the contest, enabling Dowtin to handle a light role off the bench behind backcourt starters Fred VanVleet and Will Barton. So long as Toronto gets one of Scottie Barnes (wrist) or Gary Trent (elbow) back for Friday's game against the Pistons, Dowtin could find himself back outside of head coach Nick Nurse's rotation.... Raptors' Jeff Dowtin: DNP with ankle injury
Dowtin did not play during Tuesday's 111-104 win over College Park because of an ankle injury. An injury to Dowtin's right ankle caused him to sit out the 905's latest win against College Park. It is unclear when he can return, but his next opportunity to play is against Greensboro on Friday.... See More ... See Less -
Raptors' Jeff Dowtin: G League excellence continues
Dowtin logged 24 points (10-13 FG, 3-4 3Pt, 1-2 FT), four assists, three rebounds, three blocks and three steals across 32 minutes during the 905's 127-108 win against the G League Ignite on Monday. The 905 won their first three games of March. Dowtin averaged 21.3 points and 5.7 assists across the three-game span. Though those rates will worsen at least a little once Dalano Banton (thumb) returns from his injury, Dowtin's excellence is expected to continue until further notice.... See More ... See Less -
Raptors' Jeff Dowtin: Logs 21 points, nine assists
Dowtin logged 21 points (9-15 FG, 3-6 3Pt, 3-4 FT), nine assists and five rebounds across 33 minutes during the 905's 135-125 win against Fort Wayne on Thursday. While part of the 905's roster, Dowtin is expected to be a significant scorer and their primary distributor. Currently, he is averaging 15.9 points and 6.0 assists across his 11 G League games this season.... See More ... See Less -
Raptors' Jeff Dowtin: Back to G League
Toronto sent Dowtin to the G League's Raptors 905 on Wednesday, Blake Murphy of Sportsnet.ca reports. Dowtin was available for Tuesday's win over the Bulls, but he didn't see any playing time for the first time over Toronto's past five games. He'll head back to the G League along with Joe Wieskamp, Christian Koloko, Dalano Banton and Ron Harper.... See More ... See Less -
Raptors' Jeff Dowtin: Logs 21 points, six assists
Dowtin logged 21 points (8-11 FG, 2-3 3Pt, 3-3 FT), seven rebounds, six assists, three steals and one block across 33 minutes during the 905's 124-123 win over Westchester on Sunday. Dowtin logged one assist across his two minutes during the Toronto Raptors' 123-105 win at Portland on Jan. 28. But since then, he has been part of their G League team. Dowtin is averaging 14.1 points and 5.5 assists per game in the G League.... See More ... See Less -
Raptors' Jeff Dowtin: Sevens galore for 905
Dowtin logged seven points (3-13 FG, 1-4 3Pt), seven rebounds, seven assists and three steals across 33 minutes during the 905's 110-89 win Wednesday against Birmingham. Dowtin logged zero points (0-2 FG) across five minutes during the Toronto Raptors' 125-116 loss Sunday against New York. After said defeat, they sent him to their G League team. Dowtin is not expected to stay there long but should be recording more efficient outputs than the one he had Wednesday. Still, he could be an all-around option for the 905 while away from their NBA affiliate.... See More ... See Less -
Raptors' Jeff Dowtin: Great line for 905
Dowtin logged 12 points (5-11 FG, 0-3 3Pt, 2-2 FT), five assists, four rebounds and three steals across 25 minutes during the 905's 122-119 win Monday versus Capital City. After they used Dowtin for two minutes on Jan. 6 against New York, the Toronto Raptors sent him to their G League team. Dowtin's versatile line helped the 905 log a second win across their last five games. If the guard continues being part of the 905, he will be valued but is expected to have a tough time starting in place of either Dalano Banton or Saben Lee.... See More ... See Less -
Raptors' Jeff Dowtin: Recalled by Raptors
Dowtin has been recalled by the Raptors and is available for Friday's game versus the Nets, Blake Murphy of Sportsnet.ca reports. The Raptors are hurting for backcourt depth Friday with OG Anunoby (hip) and Gary Trent (quad) both out, so the club has recalled Dowtin for reinforcements. He may not have a huge role in the contest, but Dowtin does have a 10-point showing under his belt earlier this season.... See More ... See Less -
Raptors' Jeff Dowtin: Another big G League effort
Dowtin compiled 25 points (9-18 FG, 2-6 3Pt, 3-4 FT), 10 assists, six rebounds and a steal over 42 minutes Monday versus Long Island. Dowtin continues to dominate his G league opposition and has even produced a bit on the NBA level when called upon. He's still likely to see most of his playing time with 905, with whom he's averaged 22.0 points, 6.6 assists, 4.0 rebounds and 1.2 steals over 36.6 minutes through his first five appearances.... See More ... See Less -
Raptors' Jeff Dowtin: Rare production in win
Dowtin closed Monday's game against the Pistons with four points (2-3 FG, 0-1 3Pt), four rebounds, two assists and one block over 15 minutes. Dowtin hadn't made an appearance for the Raptors since Nov. 2 against the Spurs, and he'd totaled just eight minutes heading into Monday's matchup. However, he was forced into more action than usual with Fred VanVleet (illness) and Gary Trent (hip) out. Dowtin made the most of his opportunity and managed to contribute across the board, though such chances figure to be few and far between.... See More ... See Less -
Raptors' Jeff Dowtin: Rejoins Raptors
Dowtin was recalled by the Raptors on Saturday, Blake Murphy of The Athletic reports. Dowtin has logged a total of eight minutes in his two appearances for Toronto this season, but he'll provide some backcourt depth Saturday with Fred VanVleet (illness) questionable. Dowtin has averaged 20.8 points, 5.8 assists, 2.8 rebounds and 2.3 blocks-plus-steals over 35.4 minutes per game in his four showings with Toronto's G League affiliate.... See More ... See Less
