  • Knicks' Tyler Kolek: Makes cameo in Game 6 loss

Kolek supplied three assists over two minutes during Saturday's 125-108 loss to the Pacers in Game 6 of the Eastern Conference Finals. Kolek led the bench in assists while playing just two minutes during garbage time Saturday. The rookie second-rounder appeared in 41 regular-season games with New York during the 2024-25 campaign, finishing with averages of 2.0 points and 1.7 assists while shooting 32.9 percent from the field across 7.2 minutes per contest. The Marquette product also played in eight outings with the club's G League affiliate, the Westchester Knicks, where he averaged 18.5 points, 9.0 assists, 5.1 rebounds, 1.8 steals and 0.8 blocks across 33.3 minutes per game.

  • Knicks' Tyler Kolek: Plays career-high 20 minutes

Kolek closed Tuesday's 105-91 victory over Philadelphia with seven points (2-6 FG, 1-3 3Pt, 2-2 FT), four rebounds, seven assists, one block and one steal across 20 minutes. Kolek continues to see increased minutes for the Knicks, sliding up in the rotation due to multiple injuries across the backcourt. Although Kolek has seen an increase in responsibility, his production has been a little underwhelming, outside of his assist numbers. In four games over the past week, he is averaging 3.0 points and 5.5 assists in 17.5 minutes per contest.

  • Knicks' Tyler Kolek: Career-high nine dimes

Kolek chipped in two points (1-3 FG, 0-1 3Pt), one rebound, nine assists and one block in 19 minutes during Tuesday's 128-113 win over the Mavericks. Kolek flashed his playmaking upside, recording a career-high nine assists. That makes a total of 17 assists over the past two games, easily the best stretch of his young career. With a similar style to that of T.J. McConnell, Kolek is an intriguing long-term prospect. The eventual return of Jalen Brunson from an ankle injury will likely see Kolek removed from the rotation. However, he is someone to watch as an efficient backup option, should the opportunity ever present itself.

  • Knicks' Tyler Kolek: Returns to parent club

The Knicks recalled Kolek on Friday ahead of Monday's game against the Kings. Kolek will be available for Monday's game in Sacramento, giving the Knicks some depth in the backcourt with Jalen Brunson (ankle) out. The 23-year-old guard has played in 29 games for New York this season, averaging 5.1 minutes per contest.

  • Knicks' Tyler Kolek: Enters rotation Wednesday

Kolek tallied two points (1-2 FG, 0-1 3Pt), four assists and one rebound across 12 minutes in Wednesday's 119-103 win over the Jazz. Kolek ended up playing a New Year's Day doubleheader, as he logged 36 points (12-23 FG, 5-9 3Pt, 4-4 FT), 11 assists, five rebounds, two steals and one block in 40 minutes earlier in the day in the G League Westchester Knicks' 117-114 overtime win over the Indiana Mad Ants before linking back up with the parent club. With Jalen Brunson (calf) and Miles McBride (hamstring) sitting out against the Jazz, Kolek entered the rotation and saw some backup minutes at point guard. The rookie is likely to move out of the rotation for Friday's game in Oklahoma City if either Brunson or McBride are cleared to play.

  • Knicks' Tyler Kolek: Rejoins parent club

New York recalled Kolek from the G League's Westchester Knicks on Sunday. Kolek should be available for Monday's game against the Raptors, but he's not likely to be included in the rotation.

  • Knicks' Tyler Kolek: Recalled to NBA

New York recalled Kolek from the G League's Westchester Knicks on Monday. Kolek has yet to make an impact at the NBA level, making 16 appearances with an average of 6.9 minutes per contest.

  • Knicks' Tyler Kolek: Quick G League visit

New York recalled Kolek from the G League's Westchester Knicks on Thursday. Kolek, Matt Ryan and Pacome Dadiet were all assigned to the G League on Thursday morning but were recalled in the afternoon. Westchester didn't have a game, so the trio presumably practiced. The rookie hasn't played more than six minutes in an NBA game across four December appearances.

  • Knicks' Tyler Kolek: Back from G League

New York recalled Kolek from the G League's Westchester Knicks on Wednesday. Kolek will rejoin New York ahead of Wednesday's game against the Hawks. He suited up for Westchester earlier in the day in its 118-107 win over the College Park Skyhawks, finishing with 18 points (7-20 FG, 2-9 3Pt, 2-2 FT), nine rebounds, eight assists, two steals and one block.

  • Knicks' Tyler Kolek: Out Wednesday

Kolek (illness) has been ruled out for Wednesday's game against the Mavericks, Stefan Bondy of The New York Post reports. Kolek has been downgraded from questionable to out. With Miles McBride and Cameron Payne healthy and available, Kolek's absence shouldn't impact New York's rotation.

  • Knicks' Tyler Kolek: Career-high 16 minutes

Kolek registered eight points (3-5 FG, 2-4 3Pt), four rebounds, two assists and one steal over 16 minutes during Friday's 116-94 win over Milwaukee. With Cameron Payne (hamstring) sidelined, Kolek played double-digit minutes for the first time in his career. When everyone is healthy, he's on the outskirts of the rotation, but Kolek could push Payne for playing time if the rookie can string together a few strong performances off the bench.

  • Knicks' Tyler Kolek: Decent output in preseason finale

Kolek had 13 points (3-5 FG, 1-2 3Pt, 6-6 FT), a rebound and two assists across 17 minutes off the bench in Friday's 118-117 preseason loss to the Wizards. Kolek led all the bench players in scoring and delivered a solid performance Friday, but that's not expected to change his role in the rotation. Miles McBride (rest) and Cameron Payne are ahead of him on the depth chart, meaning Kolek will probably see minimal minutes if he stays with the Knicks once the regular season begins. Starting the year with the Westchester Knicks in the G League isn't out of the question, either.

  • Knicks' Tyler Kolek: Drafted at No. 34 by New York

Kolek was selected by the Knicks with the No. 34 pick in the 2024 NBA Draft, with the Knicks sending the Trail Blazers future second-round picks to make the selection, Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN reports. The point guard out of Marquette will be fighting for backup minutes behind Jalen Brunson. At 6-foot-1, defense is Kolek's weak point. However, the Second Team All-American has a diverse offensive skillset, able to score and pass in a variety of ways, including around the basket and from three.
