Pistons' Jalen Duren: Won't play Wednesday
Duren (ankle) has been ruled out for Wednesday's game against the Bulls.
Duren will miss his first game of the season due to a sprained right ankle he sustained in Monday's overtime win over Washington. With the big man and Isaiah Stewart (ankle) both sidelined, Paul Reed, Isaac Jones and Tolu Smith are candidates for increased minutes. Duren's next opportunity to play will come Friday against the 76ers.

Duren (ankle) was not spotted at Wednesday's morning shootaround, Omari Sankofa II of the Detroit Free Press reports.
Duren is listed as probable, while Cade Cunningham (hip) is questionable. Neither player was present at the shootaround, but it's possible that both of them were receiving treatment. This is certainly something to monitor as the Pistons are already very shorthanded.

Duren is probable for Wednesday's game against the Bulls due to a right ankle sprain.
Duren has been on a tear of late with four straight double-doubles, averaging 23.0 points, 15.8 rebounds, 1.8 assists, 1.8 steals and 0.8 blocks per game in that stretch. The probable tag suggests the big man should be able to play and handle his regular workload Wednesday, though in the event he's not able to do so, Paul Reed and Isaiah Stewart (ankle) would be next in line to handle minutes at center.

Duren accumulated 21 points (8-11 FG, 5-7 FT), 16 rebounds, one assist, two blocks and two steals across 37 minutes during Sunday's 111-108 win over Philadelphia.
Cade Cunningham stole the show for the Pistons with his 26-point, 11-assist performance, but Duren made his presence felt as well and clearly won the battle against Andre Drummond. This was Duren's third straight double-double and fifth over his last six games. The big man is averaging 24.0 points, 13.6 rebounds, 1.8 assists and a combined 2.4 steals-plus-blocks in five games since the beginning of December.

Duren recorded 30 points (11-14 FG, 8-8 FT), 11 rebounds and three steals over 30 minutes during Friday's 125-107 victory over the Nets.
Duren continues to put together the best stretch of his young career, helping Detroit to its fifth consecutive victory. Duren enjoyed an efficient evening on the offensive end, drilling 10 field goals for just the second time this season. His 22 rebounds also mark a season high and his third double-double in four games. Duren is averaging 22.5 points, 13.5 rebounds, 2.5 assists and 1.0 blocks during this impressive four-game stretch.

Duren ended with 33 points (13-16 FG, 7-8 FT), 10 rebounds, two assists, one block and one steal across 29 minutes during Saturday's 122-110 win over Dallas in Mexico City.
The 33 points were a career high, as Duren notched his third double-double in the last four games. The fourth-year center could be headed for a breakout offensive season, fueled by a strong early performance at the free-throw line -- Duren is shooting a career-best 84.6 percent from the charity stripe on 6.5 FT attempts a game, more than double his volume from last season.

Duren posted 21 points (5-9 FG, 11-12 FT), 12 rebounds, two assists and one block in 33 minutes during Wednesday's 135-116 win over the Magic.
Duren had an efficient night on the offensive end and scored over half of his points from the charity stripe. He also managed to turn in his second double-double in three games with the help of another strong rebounding performance. Duren looks to be back on track following a sluggish first few games of the 2025-26 season.

Pistons' Jalen Duren: Big double-double in Sunday's win
Duren had 24 points (6-12 FG, 12-13 FT), 18 rebounds, one assist and two blocks in 28 minutes during Sunday's 119-113 win over the Celtics.
The fourth-year center managed only 12 boards through the Pistons' first two games combined, but Duren flashed his upside on the glass in his first double-double of 2025-26. The 24 points were also an early season high, although his night was cut short Friday when he picked up a Flagrant 2 foul and was ejected after just 12 minutes. Duren has averaged a double-double in each of the last two seasons, but Detroit is counting on the 21-year-old to take a step forward now that he's gained more strength and experience.

Duren was ejected from Friday's game after collecting a flagrant 2 foul for elbowing Amen Thompson in the face.
Duren appeared to pull Thompson's arm as he went to move past him and caught him with his elbow while running to the hoop, so it'll be interesting to see if he faces further disciplinary action from the league. He'll end his evening with six points (3-4 FG), six rebounds, one steal, one block and one turnover in 12 minutes, and if he needs to miss more games, Isaiah Stewart will be the primary beneficiary.

Duren recorded 15 points (7-12 FG, 1-2 FT), six rebounds, one assist, two blocks and one steal over 20 minutes during Wednesday's 115-111 loss to the Bulls.
It was interesting to see Duren play fewer minutes than Isaiah Stewart, who double-doubled in 25 minutes off the bench. It's worth noting, however, that Duren was limited by hamstring tightness during training camp, which may have prompted the Pistons to keep an eye on his workload Wednesday. Fantasy managers should expect the 2022 first-rounder's playing time to rise as he becomes further removed from the hamstring problem.

Duren did all his damage in 19 minutes as he looked to be in mid-season form Thursday. He could be poised to make another leap after finishing as a seventh-round fantasy value in nine-category leagues during the 2045-25 regular season in just 26.1 minutes per contest.

Duren finished with eight points (3-6 FG, 2-2 FT), five rebounds, two assists and one steal in 13 minutes during Tuesday's 118-100 preseason loss to the Cavaliers.
Duren, who had been bothered by a hamstring complaint, made his preseason debut Tuesday. He was limited to just 13 minutes, likely part of his return-to-action plan. Despite the reduced playing time, Duren appeared healthy and was active on both ends of the floor. Barring any setbacks, expect to see him in the starting lineup come Opening Night.
