  • Timberwolves' Josh Minott: Rare appearance in win

Minott closed with five points (1-3 FG, 1-2 3Pt, 2-2 FT), one rebound and one steal over 10 minutes during Saturday's 133-104 victory over the Nuggets. Minott cracked the rotation for the first time in four games, continuing to serve as nothing more than a depth piece for the resurgent Timberwolves. After a rocky start to the campaign, Minnesota has now won seven of its past 11 games. Although Minott has suited up on 27 occasions, he has averaged only 7.4 minutes per game.

  • Timberwolves' Josh Minott: Good to go

Minott (illness) has been cleared to play Monday against the Clippers. Minott was labeled as a game-time call due to illness, but he's since been given the green light to suit up. He's averaging 4.6 points and 1.4 rebounds over 8.6 minutes in his last five appearances.

  • Timberwolves' Josh Minott: Questionable to play Monday

Minott (illness) is listed as questionable for Monday's game against the Clippers. Minott could miss a second straight game due to an illness. Donte DiVincenzo and Nickeil Alexander-Walker would see a slight uptick in minutes off the bench should Minott not be able to play Monday.

  • Timberwolves' Josh Minott: Won't suit up Saturday

Minott (illness) will not play Saturday against the Pistons. Minott will miss his first game since Dec. 13, but the guard will be day-to-day going forward. He's been a fringe rotation player for Minnesota with an average of 8.6 minutes across his last five games.

  • Timberwolves' Josh Minott: Deemed questionable for Saturday

Minott (illness) is listed as questionable for Saturday's game against the Pistons. Minott is in jeopardy of missing his first outing since Dec. 13 due to the illness. The 22-year-old swingman has received little playing time at the NBA level, and his potential absence shouldn't affect any fantasy decisions. Over his last five games, Minott has averaged 4.6 points and 1.4 rebounds across 8.6 minutes per contest.

  • Timberwolves' Josh Minott: Plays just six minutes in win

Minott closed with two points (1-3 FG, 0-2 3Pt), two rebounds and one block across five minutes during Wednesday's 105-99 victory over the Mavericks. Minott was used sparingly again, continuing what has been a frustrating start to the season. Although he has played in more games than he has missed, Minott typically logs most of his playing time down the stretch when the game is done and dusted. Barring injuries to those around him, his role is unlikely to change moving forward.

  • Timberwolves' Josh Minott: Career-best performance Wednesday

Minott ended with 13 points (5-7 FG, 1-3 3Pt, 2-3 FT), eight rebounds, three assists, one block and one steal over 21 minutes during Wednesday's 108-80 victory over the Clippers. Minott logged more than 20 minutes in an NBA game for the first time in his career, and the second-year forward made the most of his minutes. He delivered career-high marks in points, rebounds and assists while making a huge impact off the bench. That said, Minott had appeared in just eight games prior to Wednesday's win and averaged only 6.4 minutes per game, so he's not likely to hover around the 20-minute-per-game mark all of a sudden.

  • Timberwolves' Josh Minott: Used sparingly in victory

Minott had one point (1-2 FT), one rebound and one block in eight minutes during Monday's 114-93 victory over the Hornets. Minott slid into the rotation for just the second time this season, playing eight minutes of garbage time. He is typically only ever utilized when the scoreline is one-sided. There is no indication that his role is going to change moving forward.

  • Timberwolves' Josh Minott: Starting vs. Denver

Minott will start in Thursday's preseason finale against the Nuggets. The Timberwolves are not only resting their starters, but they're also resting their regular reserves for this contest. Minott will have the chance to impress the coaching staff and will start alongside Luka Garza in the frontcourt. Rob Dillingham, Terrence Shannon and P.J. Dozier form the rest of the first unit.

  • Timberwolves' Josh Minott: Leads team with 18 points

Minott posted 18 points (7-10 FG, 3-4 3Pt, 1-1 FT), three rebounds, a steal and a blocked shot across 22 minutes in Wednesday's 125-123 preseason loss to the Bulls. One shouldn't read much into Minott's performance. The 2022 second-round pick is trapped on a crowded depth chart that won't give him many opportunities to move up. Although he shows promise and signed a new deal in the offseason, his participation will be limited.

  • Timberwolves' Josh Minott: Staying in Minnesota in 2024-25

Minott's $2.02 million contract for the 2024-25 season became fully guaranteed Friday, Dane Moore of 'The Dane Moore NBA Podcast' reports. Minott has logged just 47 appearances with Minnesota through his first two seasons in the professional ranks, but he's posted impressive numbers with the G League's Iowa Wolves and is still viewed as a promising developmental piece for the organization. Though the Timberwolves are keeping him in the fold for the 2024-25 campaign, Minott may not be assured a larger role during the upcoming season. Reserves Kyle Anderson, Monte Morris and Jordan McLaughlin are the lone Timberwolves rotation players from this past season scheduled for free agency, and Minnesota may have already found some replacements in first-round draft picks Rob Dillingham and Terrence Shannon.

Minott (illness) isn't listed on Minnesota's injury report for Thursday's game against the Pacers. Minott missed Monday's win over Portland due to an illness but should be available Thursday. However, his availability shouldn't impact the rotation, even with Karl-Anthony Towns (knee) out.

Minott has appeared in just five G League contests this season, averaging 14.5 points, 7.3 rebounds, 3.5 blocks and 2.3 steals on 46.2 percent shooting from the floor. • Timberwolves' Josh Minott: Questionable for Monday

Minott (illness) is questionable Monday against Miami. Minott is at risk of missing his second consecutive game due to illness. He hasn't been a relevant factor in Minnesota's rotation regardless, logging six total minutes of court time across his past nine healthy games.

  • Timberwolves' Josh Minott: Not playing Saturday

Minott won't play Saturday against the Pacers due to an illness. The absence of Minott is not going to affect the Timberwolves greatly. He has made just 11 appearances off the bench this season and has yet to play more than five minutes in any of those outings. Minott's next chance to play will come against the Heat on Monday.

  • Timberwolves' Josh Minott: Recalled by Minnesota

  • Timberwolves' Josh Minott: Stands out against Maccabi

Minott delivered 23 points (9-15 FG, 0-1 3Pt, 5-6 FT), six rebounds, six assists and three blocks across 32 minutes in Tuesday's 138-111 preseason win over Maccabi. Timberwolves head coach Chris Finch gave minutes to several players who are competing for the final roster spots, and there's no question Minott stood out with a strong display on both ends of the court while also co-leading the team in field-goal attempts. However, Minott has a tough road ahead of him to make the Opening Night roster, and it's not out of the question to imagine him opening the regular season in the G League instead.
