  • Nets' Nic Claxton: Notches double-double in win

Claxton finished Friday's 124-97 victory over the Wizards with 13 points (6-8 FG, 1-2 FT), 15 rebounds and two blocks across 26 minutes. Claxton reached double-digit rebounds for the third time in four games and recorded his fourth double-double of the season. He was one of six Nets players to score in double digits, and his four offensive rebounds were second on the team only to Day'Ron Sharpe (five). Claxton is averaging 2.5 blocks per game, which puts him fourth in the NBA in that category just behind Victor Wembanyama (2.6).

  • Nets' Nic Claxton: Pours in 20 points

Claxton finished Thursday's 129-128 loss to the Hornets with 20 points (9-13 FG, 2-2 FT), 14 rebounds, two assists, two blocks and one steal across 29 minutes. Claxton's 14 rebounds marked a new season high, and it was the ninth time in his career that he collected at least 14 boards. On top of his impressive rebounding and block numbers this season, Claxton has really ramped up his offense lately. Over his last four games, he averaged 17.5 points on 68.9 percent shooting from the field.

  • Nets' Nic Claxton: Nearly double-doubles

Claxton (ankle) notched 15 points (7-10 FG, 1-4 FT), eight rebounds, four blocks and one steal over 32 minutes during Tuesday's 115-103 victory over Toronto. Claxton looked sharp Tuesday after returning from a one-game absence due to an ankle issue. Brooklyn's starting center has been on another level defensively this season, as he's leading the NBA in blocks per game (2.9) in just 27.2 minutes per contest. Injuries have limited Claxton to eight out of 17 games, so his availability going forward will be key to his fantasy value.

  • Nets' Nic Claxton: Will play Tuesday

Claxton (ankle) is good to go for Tuesday's game against the Raptors, Erik Slater of ClutchPoints.com reports. Claxton was unable to play Sunday against the Bulls, but it appears he has put his minor ankle issue behind him. The Nets deployed a smaller lineup Sunday with Claxton unavailable, but Day'Ron Sharpe made a big impact off the bench in 27 minutes. However, Sharpe's fantasy value is likely to trend down with Claxton healthy again.

  • Nets' Nic Claxton: Questionable for Tuesday

Claxton (ankle) is questionable for Tuesday's game against the Raptors, Brian Lewis of the New York Post reports. Claxton was a game-time decision for Sunday's matchup against Chicago, but he was ultimately held out. It's not yet clear whether he'll be available Tuesday, but Day'Ron Sharpe, Royce O'Neale and Lonnie Walker could see increased run once again if Claxton remains out.

  • Nets' Nic Claxton: Out Sunday

Claxton (ankle) has been ruled out for Sunday's game against Chicago, Evan Barnes of Newsday reports. Claxton was originally listed as probable for Sunday's game due to a left ankle sprain, but he has been downgraded to out ahead of game time. Royce O'Neale, Dorian Finney-Smith and Day'Ron Sharpe should see extended minutes in Claxton's absence.

  • Nets' Nic Claxton: Downgraded to questionable

Claxton (ankle) has been downgraded to questionable for Sunday's game against Chicago. Although Claxton was listed as probable on the Nets' initial injury report for Sunday, his downgrade to questionable isn't particularly surprising since he was labeled a game-time decision. Royce O'Neale, Dorian Finney-Smith and Day'Ron Sharpe could see increased roles if Claxton is unavailable.

  • Nets' Nic Claxton: Game-time decision Sunday

Claxton (ankle) is a game-time decision for Sunday's game against Chicago, Brian Lewis of the New York Post reports. Claxton has been considered probable to play and participated in shootaround, but he's dealing with an aggravation to the high-ankle sprain he suffered in Brooklyn's season opener. His availability will come down to pregame warmups, with Royce O'Neale, Dorian Finney-Smith, and Day'Ron Sharpe being candidates to step up if Claxton can't take the court.

  • Nets' Nic Claxton: Dealing with ankle sprain

Claxton is probable for Sunday's game against the Bulls due to a left ankle sprain, Evan Barnes of Newsday reports. Claxton posted 13 points, six rebounds, three blocks and two steals in 24 minutes during Saturday's win over Miami. The issue shouldn't prevent him from suiting up for the second night of a back-to-back set, and his presence on the injury report is likely just precautionary after missing eight games earlier in the season due to a high-ankle sprain. Since returning to action, Claxton has averaged 13.2 points, 8.5 rebounds, 2.7 blocks and 1.3 assists in 26.5 minutes over six appearances (all starts).

  • Nets' Nic Claxton: Double-double in OT loss

Claxton logged 22 points (10-15 FG, 2-2 FT), 11 rebounds, three assists, three blocks and one steal in 37 minutes before fouling out of Wednesday's 147-145 overtime loss to the Hawks. The double-double was Claxton's second in five games since returning from an eight-game absence due to an ankle injury. The fifth-year center has also racked up 13 rejections over that stretch, averaging 13.2 points, 9.0 boards, 2.6 blocks and 1.6 assists, numbers right in line with last season's breakout.

  • Nets' Nic Claxton: Nears double-double in loss

Claxton closed Sunday's 121-99 loss to the 76ers with 10 points (5-6 FG, 0-3 FT), nine rebounds, one assist and one block over 23 minutes. Claxton led all Nets in rebounds while finishing one board short of a double-double, as he was one of four Brooklyn players with a double-digit point total. Claxton hauled in at least nine rebounds for the second time this season and has scored in double figures in three of his last four outings.

  • Nets' Nic Claxton: Active at both ends Thursday

Claxton totaled 16 points (7-7 FG, 2-4 FT), six rebounds, two assists, three blocks and one steal over 26 minutes during Thursday's 122-115 loss to Miami. Claxton was perfect from the field but also made his presence felt on the defensive end. He missed eight consecutive games due to an ankle injury but has managed to look productive with averages of 11.3 points, 8.3 rebounds and 3.0 blocks per game since returning to the hardwood.

  • Nets' Nic Claxton: Double-doubles in return

Claxton (ankle) accumulated 10 points (5-7 FG), 13 rebounds, four blocks and two assists across 28 minutes during Sunday's 102-94 victory over the Wizards. Claxton returned to the hardwood after an eight-game absence due to ankle sprain and looked about as good as fantasy managers could have expected, turning in an efficient double-double while supplementing the scoring and rebounds production with an excellent block total. He didn't face any major playing-time restrictions in his return, and assuming he's able to avoid foul trouble, Claxton could see his minutes climb over 30 in the Nets' next game Tuesday versus the Magic.

  • Nets' Nic Claxton: Back in action

Claxton (ankle) will start Sunday's game against the Wizards, Evan Barnes of Newsday reports. Claxton will take the court for the first time since Brooklyn's regular-season opener. He gained additional reps with Brooklyn's G League affiliate over the past week, but it's unclear how extensive his workload will be in his return. Royce O'Neale will move to the second unit.

  • Nets' Nic Claxton: Good to go Sunday

Claxton (ankle) isn't on the injury report for Sunday's game versus the Wizards, Brian Lewis of the New York Post reports. Claxton is set to return Sunday after suffering a high-ankle sprain in Brooklyn's season opener. While the 24-year-old big man should return to the starting lineup, it wouldn't be surprising for him to be on a minutes restriction. Royce O'Neale and Dorian Finney-Smith will likely see their minutes reduced due to Claxton's return.

  • Nets' Nic Claxton: Set to practice with G League club

Claxton (ankle) was assigned to the G League's Long Island Nets on Wednesday, freelance NBA journalist Billy Reinhardt reports. Claxton sustained a high-ankle sprain during the Nets' season opener and has been sidelined since then. While it's not yet clear when he'll be able to return to game action for Brooklyn, his G League assignment should at least allow him to practice with Long Island in the near future as he continues his recovery process.

  • Nets' Nic Claxton: Dealing with high-ankle sprain

Claxton revealed Saturday that he's dealing with a high-ankle sprain, Erik Slater of ClutchPoints.com reports. The Nets have been labeling Claxton as day-to-day since he sustained the injury in an Oct. 25 season-opening loss to the Cavaliers, but the center's own assertion that he's dealing with a high-ankle sprain suggests the day-to-day label may not be accurate. As Slater notes, high-ankle sprains often entail a 6-to-8-week recovery, so Claxton could be in line to miss another month of action, if not longer. On a more positive note, Claxton was spotted with a walking boot on his left ankle following the Nets' morning shootaround Saturday, perhaps offering some indication that he's healed. Even so, fantasy managers who have been closely keeping tabs of Claxton's status probably can't count on him playing at any point during the Nets' upcoming four-game week, despite the team continuing to label him as day-to-day.

  • Nets' Nic Claxton: Remains out Saturday

Claxton (ankle) won't play in Saturday's game versus the Celtics, Brian Lewis of the New York Post reports. Claxton's absence streak will extend to five games Saturday due to a left ankle sprain. The 24-year-old big man's next chance to suit up is Monday's matchup with Milwaukee.

  • Nets' Nic Claxton: Still sidelined against Chicago

Claxton (ankle) is out for Friday's game versus the Bulls, Evan Barnes of Newsday reports. Claxton will miss his fourth consecutive game Friday due to a left ankle sprain. Royce O'Neale and Ben Simmons should continue to see extended minutes in his absence. Claxton's next chance to suit up is Saturday, but coach Jacque Vaughn said the starting center would "probably not" play versus the Celtics.

  • Nets' Nic Claxton: Out at least two more games

Claxton (ankle), who has been ruled out for Monday's game against Charlotte, will remain out for Wednesday's game against the Heat, Brian Lewis of the New York Post reports. Claxton was also unavailable for Friday's game against Dallas due to his left ankle sprain, and the issue will force him to miss at least three matchups. Cam Thomas and Dorian Finney-Smith will retain starting roles Monday since Cameron Johnson (calf) also remains out. Claxton's next opportunity to suit up will be Friday in Chicago.
