  • Nets' Jacob Gilyard: Good to go

Gilyard (hip) has been cleared to play Friday against the Knicks.

Gilyard was tagged as probable leading up to tipoff, so this update was expected. He's in line to see run at point guard Friday with both Dennis Schroder (Achilles) and Dennis Smith (hip) ruled out.

  • Nets' Jacob Gilyard: Officially good to go

Gilyard (hip) is available for Wednesday's game versus the Raptors, C.J. Holmes of the New York Daily News reports.

Gilyard has been upgraded from probable to available Wednesday despite dealing with a left hip contusion. However, the 24-year-old guard is unlikely to receive significant playing time for Brooklyn.

  • Nets' Jacob Gilyard: Likely to suit up Wednesday

Gilyard is listed as probable for Wednesday's game versus the Raptors due to a left hip contusion, Brian Lewis of the New York Post reports.

The two-way guard will be back with Brooklyn for the final three games of the NBA season after he most recently suited up for the G League's Long Island Nets during their playoff run. Assuming he's available to play Wednesday, Gilyard will provide depth to the backcourt.

  • Nets' Jacob Gilyard: Joins Nets

Gilyard and the Nets agreed to a two-way contract Friday, Michael Scotto of USA Today reports.

Gilyard made 37 appearances for the Grizzlies this season before the franchise let him go last week. He averaged 4.7 points, 3.5 assists, 1.4 three-pointers and 1.2 rebounds in 17.7 minutes per game for Memphis. Though he'll link up with Brooklyn on a two-way deal, Gilyard is unlikely to see as ample playing time with the Nets as he had with the Grizzlies.

  • Jacob Gilyard: Cut by Memphis

The Grizzlies waived Gilyard on Saturday, Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN reports.

Gilyard had been one of the Grizzlies' two-way players, but because he's already been active for 48 games this season, he was eligible to appear in just two more contests for Memphis. Rather than keeping Gilyard on the roster with limited availability over the final month and a half, the Grizzlies elected to convert 10-day signee Jordan Goodwin to a two-way deal. The Grizzlies could look to bring Gilyard back on a 10-day deal once he clears waivers, though the team still has a need for another healthy body in the frontcourt with two-way player Trey Jemison facing similar limitations with his availability down the stretch. Gilyard appeared in 37 games (14 starts) for Memphis this season, averaging 4.7 points, 3.5 assists, 1.4 three-pointers, 1.2 rebounds and 0.7 steals in 17.7 minutes per contest.

Gilyard is in the starting lineup to face the Hornets on Saturday.

Gilyard came off the bench in the loss to Chicago on Thursday, tallying eight points and four assists across 20 minutes, but he returns to the first unit with Scotty Pippen listed as out. • Grizzlies' Jacob Gilyard: Joins second unit

Gilyard will come off the bench for Thursday's game against the Bulls.

Memphis' rotations are all over the place due to injuries across the roster. Gilyard has played really well in his previous three contests, but the Grizzlies are rolling with Scotty Pippen as their starting point guard Thursday.

  • Grizzlies' Jacob Gilyard: Solid production in loss

Gilyard recorded 13 points (5-10 FG, 3-7 3Pt), two rebounds, six assists and two steals across 36 minutes during Sunday's 131-91 loss to Boston.

Gilyard drew his second straight start for the injury-depleted Grizzlies and delivered another strong performance. Over the last two games, Gilyard has totaled 29 points (10-19 FG), 11 assists, four rebounds, four steals and one block while averaging 34.0 minutes per game. If he's able to maintain this type of role, Gilyard should be on fantasy radars, especially in deeper leagues.

  • Grizzlies' Jacob Gilyard: Struggles despite opportunity

Gilyard ended Monday's 103-94 loss to the Kings with three points (1-3 FG, 1-2 3Pt), two rebounds, five assists and one steal over 16 minutes.

Despite the fact the Grizzlies were without several key pieces, Gilyard still struggled to have any sort of tangible impact. He has scored double-digits only three times all season, with his only upside being in the assists department. Other than being a speculative stream option, managers are likely to find a more reliable option on most waiver wires.

  • Grizzlies' Jacob Gilyard: Retreats to bench

Gilyard isn't starting Monday against the Warriors, Drew Hill of The Daily Memphian reports.

Gilyard started in Saturday's loss to the Knicks, but he'll retreat to the bench due to Ziaire Williams taking on a starting role Monday, while Luke Kennard shifts down to point guard. Gilyard has averaged 2.5 points and 7.5 assists in 26.0 minutes per game over his last two appearances.

  • Grizzlies' Jacob Gilyard: Starting against Knicks

Gilyard is in the starting lineup for Saturday's game against the Knicks.

Desmond Bane (ankle) has joined Memphis' rapidly growing injury report. Gilyard is likely going to see a healthy workload Saturday, but he hasn't fared well in eight starts this season. In those games, Gilyard averaged 6.9 points, 3.8 assists, 1.8 rebounds and 2.0 three-pointers on 42.2 percent shooting from the field.

Gilyard will come off the bench for Tuesday's game against the Pelicans.

No surprises here, as Ja Morant is returning from his 25-game suspension Tuesday. Gilyard will likely serve as the backup point guard until Derrick Rose (hamstring) gets the green light.

  • Grizzlies' Jacob Gilyard: Sniffs double-double as starter

Gilyard recorded 12 points (4-9 FG, 4-6 3Pt), one rebound, seven assists and one steal over 34 minutes during Monday's 116-97 loss to the Thunder.

Gilyard started for the first time since Nov. 26 and delivered a strong performance given how outmatched the Grizzlies looked in a 19-point loss to a superior team such as Oklahoma City. Expect Gilyard to return to the bench since Ja Morant (suspension) is eligible to return Tuesday against the Pelicans.
