  • Celtics' Jordan Walsh: Good to go Thursday

Walsh (ribs) is available for Thursday's game versus the Pistons. Walsh has been upgraded from questionable to available Thursday despite dealing with a left rib contusion. With Jayson Tatum (knee), Sam Hauser (adductor) and Jaden Springer (illness) all out against Detroit, Walsh could receive increased playing time.

  • Celtics' Jordan Walsh: Dealing with bruised ribs

Walsh is questionable for Thursday's game against Detroit due to a left rib contusion. The 20-year-old hasn't played in either of Boston's last two games, but he may have picked up the injury during his 29-minute appearance Monday for the G League's Maine Celtics. Though Walsh is now back with the parent club, the injury could prevent him from suiting up Thursday. His status won't have fantasy implications, as Walsh has typically found himself outside of Boston's rotation this season.

  • Celtics' Jordan Walsh: Draws rare start

Walsh is starting Monday's game against the Heat, Justin Turpin of WEEI.com reports. Walsh will draw his first start of the season after barely cracking the rotation for the first month of the NBA season. He'll draw the start at small forward while Derrick White mans point guard -- due to the absence of Jrue Holiday (knee) -- and Jaylen Brown shifts to shooting guard.

  • Celtics' Jordan Walsh: Shifts to bench

Walsh will come off the bench for Tuesday's preseason game against the Raptors, Blake Murphy of Sportsnet.ca reports. After resting their starters Sunday against Toronto, the Celtics will be close to full strength Tuesday evening. Walsh has made a strong impression in the preseason so far, averaging 9.5 points, 4.3 rebounds, 1.8 assists and 1.5 three-pointers across four games.

  • Celtics' Jordan Walsh: Starting Sunday

Walsh will start Sunday's preseason game against the Raptors, Blake Murphy of Sportsnet.ca reports. Walsh will be the beneficiary of Boston resting the majority of their key players for the second half of a back-to-back set. Walsh played well in his previous preseason appearance, posting 11 points, two rebounds and an assist in 12 minutes of action Saturday.

  • Celtics' Jordan Walsh: Back to end of rotation

Walsh won't start Game 1 of the opening-round series against the Heat on Sunday. With Boston resting its usual starters, Walsh made his first career NBA start during the regular-season finale and posted one point (0-2 FG), three rebounds, two steals and an assist in 17 minutes during a win over Washington. The rookie spent most of the season in the G League and isn't expected to be part of the Celtics' postseason rotation.

  • Celtics' Jordan Walsh: Recalled to NBA

Boston recalled Walsh from the G League's Maine Celtics on Friday, Taylor Snow of the Celtics' official site reports. Walsh posted 18 points (6-9 FG), nine rebounds, two steals and a block in 35 minutes during Maine's 119-112 win over the Delaware Blue Coats during the G League playoffs on Thursday. He'll provide depth for the NBA club Friday night, but Walsh is expected to rejoin Maine ahead of Sunday's semifinal matchup against Long Island or Osceola, who face off Friday night.

  • Celtics' Jordan Walsh: Elevated for depth

Boston recalled Walsh from the G League's Maine Celtics on Friday. The Celtics continue to rest numerous regulars because they've almost locked up the No. 1 seed already, so Walsh was elevated for depth. He played three minutes during Friday's win in Detriot and scored two points but didn't see any action in Saturday's win in Chicago.

  • Celtics' Jordan Walsh: Recalled to Boston

Boston recalled Walsh from the G League's Maine Celtics on Saturday. Walsh earned the first NBA minutes of his career in Wednesday's blowout win over San Antonio, but he's unlikely to be part of the rotation for Sunday's game against the Rockets.

  • Celtics' Jordan Walsh: Drafted by Boston in second round

Walsh was selected by the Kings with the 38th overall pick in the 2023 NBA Draft and subsequently traded to the Celtics in exchange for Colby Jones. Walsh spent just one season in the collegiate ranks and averaged 7.1 points, 3.9 rebounds and 1.1 steals in 24.4 minutes per game at Arkansas. The 19-year-old is an athletic defender with plenty of length, but he could require some time to develop before he sees consistent minutes at the professional level.
