  • Trail Blazers' Scoot Henderson: Logs best game since injury

Henderson totaled 17 points (6-15 FG, 2-5 3Pt, 3-4 FT), five rebounds, three assists and one steal in 21 minutes during Saturday's 118-113 overtime loss to the Jazz. Henderson's shot volume increased dramatically Saturday His return from the ankle injury is coming along, but he'll need to show dramatic improvement to get back into the starting lineup. Malcolm Brogdon's stint with the first unit has yielded superb results, and although the team views Henderson as the point guard of the future, the Trail Blazers also desperately need to string some wins together.

  • Trail Blazers' Scoot Henderson: Comes off bench again in win

Henderson put up two points (1-8 FG, 0-5 3Pt), seven assists and one rebound in 22 minutes during Thursday's 103-95 win over the Cavaliers. In his four appearances since returning to action from his nine-game absence, Henderson has come off the bench, averaging 22.0 minutes, 7.8 points, 4.0 assists, 2.8 rebounds and 0.3 steals while shooting a paltry 31.4 percent from the floor. The highly touted rookie has certainly endured some inconsistency to start the season, but it's possible the Trail Blazers could insert him back into the starting lineup as they prioritize their future.

  • Trail Blazers' Scoot Henderson: Dishes seven assists in return

Henderson (ankle) finished with three points (1-7 FG, 0-3 3Pt, 1-2 FT), seven assists and three rebounds across 17 minutes in Wednesday's 121-105 win over the Jazz. After getting in some conditioning work in the G League on Tuesday, Henderson somewhat surprisingly returned to action for the Trail Blazers on Wednesday after missing the previous nine contests with a right ankle sprain. The Trail Blazers still elected to ease Henderson back into the fold in a bench role, and while the rookie was able to dish out seven assists in his limited minutes, he struggled with his shooting and turned the ball over three times. Henderson should see his minutes creep up in the Trail Blazers' upcoming games and will eventually recapture a spot in the starting lineup, but fantasy managers should still expect some inefficiency from the young point guard. Because of his poor shooting, Henderson will likely continue to retain far more value in points leagues than category leagues.

  • Trail Blazers' Scoot Henderson: Upgraded to questionable

Henderson (ankle) is questionable for Wednesday's game against the Jazz. Henderson sprained his right ankle Nov. 1 and has been sidelined since. He recently went to the G League for conditioning purposes, and it appears he responded well to the increased activity. Even if Henderson doesn't suit up Wednesday, his return to game action seems imminent, though he'll presumably be subject to restrictions at first.

  • Trail Blazers' Scoot Henderson: Returns to parent club

The Trail Blazers recalled Henderson (ankle) from the Rip City Remix of the G League on Tuesday. Henderson's stint in the G League was a short one, as the rookie guard likely just took part in conditioning work with the Rip City Remix on Tuesday as he gears up for a return from his ankle injury that has sidelined him since Nov. 1. The rookie point guard won't be available for Portland's next two contests but will have his first chance to suit up in Sunday's matchup with Milwaukee. Expect Malcolm Brogdon and Skylar Mays to fill most of the minutes at point guard until Henderson is cleared to play again.

  • Trail Blazers' Scoot Henderson: Records eight points in loss

Henderson posted eight points (3-11 FG, 0-3 3Pt, 2-2 FT), five assists and a steal across 30 minutes during Monday's 117-106 loss to the Suns. Replacing Damian Lillard is a tall order, but that's exactly what's expected of Henderson this season. The first-round pick is only 19 years old and doesn't have the advantage of seasoning at the college level, but he put in time with the G League Ignite and has all the skills to be Portland's long-term answer at the position. Monday's tepid shooting night is a good example of the growing pains he might experience in his rookie campaign. Shaedon Sharpe, Anfernee Simons and Malcolm Brogdon are all in the fold to carry the load in the backcourt, giving Henderson plenty of time to develop.
