Mavericks' Cooper Flagg: Fills up stat sheet in loss
Flagg totaled 16 points (6-15 FG, 3-7 3Pt, 1-4 FT), six rebounds, six assists, two blocks and three steals over 34 minutes during Wednesday's 123-114 loss to the Suns.
The rookie produced multiple steals and blocks for the second time in his first 12 NBA games, but Wednesday was the first time he paired that defense with multiple threes, and his six assists tied his season. The Mavs continue to get hit by injuries -- Anthony Davis has missed seven straight contests with a calf strain while Dereck Lively has been out nine straight with a knee strain, and P.J. Washington (shoulder) left Wednesday's game in the first half and didn't return -- so Flagg's responsibilities will only keep growing until reinforcements arrive from the trainer's room. He's scored in double digits in eight straight games, averaging 16.1 points, 7.5 boards, 3.8 assists, 1.6 steals, 1.3 threes and 0.9 blocks in 33.5 minutes a contest during that stretch.

Mavericks' Cooper Flagg: Will play Wednesday
Flagg (thumb) is available for Wednesday's game against Phoenix.
Flagg is nursing a sprained thumb that he sustained during Saturday's win over Washington, though the issue won't stop him from suiting up. The 2025 No. 1 overall pick has averaged 15.0 points, 6.8 rebounds, 3.1 assists and 1.3 steals in 32.7 minutes per contest across 11 games this season, shooting 42.4 percent from the field.

Mavericks' Cooper Flagg: Picks up thumb injury
Flagg stated after Monday's 116-114 loss to the Bucks that he's been dealing with a right thumb sprain, Noah Weber of TheSmokingCuban.com reports. He finished with 26 points (9-15 FG, 1-5 3Pt, 7-10 FT), nine rebounds, four assists, two steals and one block in 35 minutes.
Flagg noted that he suffered the injury on a dunk attempt in Saturday's win over the Wizards, though he also mentioned the injury shouldn't be a big issue going forward. The rookie otherwise put together the best showing of his young career from a scoring perspective, reaching the 20-point threshold for the third time in 11 appearances. Flagg's availability will be worth keeping an eye on leading up to Wednesday's matchup against the Suns, but it's a positive sign that he played through the issue Monday.

Flagg ended Friday's 118-104 loss to the Grizzlies with 12 points (5-10 FG, 1-4 3Pt, 1-2 FT), six rebounds, two assists, one block and one steal in 27 minutes.
Flagg was unable to build off his 20-point, nine-rebound effort against the Pelicans on Wednesday, but the rookie continues to put up solid numbers even if he's clearly going through some growing pains and inconsistencies -- which are common for a first-year player. Flagg has scored in double digits in five games in a row, averaging 15.0 points, 7.6 rebounds, 2.8 assists and 1.2 steals pr game over that stretch.

Mavericks' Cooper Flagg: Best game of season
Flagg generated 20 points (8-19 FG, 1-5 3Pt, 3-3 FT), nine rebounds, two assists, three steals and two blocks during Wednesday's 101-99 loss to the Pelicans.
Flagg hit the 20-point threshold for the second time this season, and he fell one rebound shy of his third double-double. He totaled five combined steals-plus-blocks, setting season highs in both steals and blocks. The 2025 No. 1 overall pick, Flagg has had to work through some growing pains to start his career, but Wednesday's performance offered a glimpse into the type of versatile fantasy player he can be, even as a rookie.

Mavericks' Cooper Flagg: Productive despite shooting woes
Flagg closed Saturday's 122-110 loss to the Pistons in Mexico City with 16 points (3-14 FG, 2-6 3Pt, 8-8 FT), eight rebounds, four assists and one steal in 34 minutes.
The rookie led Dallas in rebounds and paced the starting five in points despite his shooting struggles, thanks to season-best totals from the free-throw line. Flagg hasn't exactly taken the NBA by storm, stumbling to a 37.3 percent FG% and 28.6 percent 3P% through his first six games, but he's produced two double-doubles while averaging 13.8 points, 6.5 boards, 3.0 assists, 1.0 threes and 1.3 steals plus blocks in 32.5 minutes a contest.

Mavericks' Cooper Flagg: Double-doubles in win
Flagg produced 15 points (6-11 FG, 3-3 FT), 10 rebounds, four assists, one block and two turnovers in 35 minutes during Wednesday's 107-105 win over the Pacers.
Flagg was quiet for the first three quarters of Wednesday's game, but he took over late when the Mavs needed some offense and helped secure the win for Dallas. There may be up-and-down production from the 18-year-old, but the good news is that head coach Jason Kidd is allowing him to play through mistakes, and he's logging major minutes right out the gate. Flagg should only improve as the year goes on.

Mavericks' Cooper Flagg: Omitted from injury report
Flagg (shoulder) is not listed on the injury report for Wednesday's game against the Pacers.
Flagg battled through left shoulder soreness in Monday's 101-94 loss to the Thunder, but the issue isn't enough to prevent him from playing Wednesday. The No. 1 overall pick should continue to operate as the top point guard in Dallas. Through his first four outings, Flagg has averaged 13.0 points, 5.3 rebounds, 2.5 assists and 1.0 steals in 31.5 minutes per game.
