  • Heat's Jaime Jaquez: Rejoins second unit

Jaquez will come off the bench for Tuesday's game versus Portland, Ira Winderman of the South Florida Sun Sentinel reports. No surprises here, as Jimmy Butler is returning from his one-game suspension. Jaquez made the most of his fill-in start Monday versus the Kings, producing 26 points (12-17 FG, 1-2 3Pt, 1-2 FT), five rebounds, two assists and three steals across 38 minutes.

  • Heat's Jaime Jaquez: Pours in 26 points in starting role

Jaquez supplied 26 points (12-17 FG, 1-2 3Pt, 1-2 FT), five rebounds, two assists and three steals across 38 minutes during Monday's 121-110 victory over the Kings. Jaquez helped the Heat win a fourth straight game on a night when most of the starters were out. Jaquez aptly filled in for Jimmy Butler (suspension) with his second-best scoring total of the season. Although Jaquez was routinely posting strong numbers before a seven-game absence in January, his demotion to the second unit has hurt his bottom line, Unless Miami's injury concerns become a more consistent problem, nights like these will likely be a rarity for the rookie.

  • Heat's Jaime Jaquez: Returns to starting lineup

Jaquez is starting Monday's game against Sacramento. Jaquez is averaging 15.0 points, 4.8 rebounds and 2.4 assists on 52.8 percent shooting across his last five games as a starter. He is joined by Delon Wright, Duncan Robinson, Caleb Martin and Bam Adebayo in a makeshift starting lineup Monday while Jimmy Butler and Nikola Jovic are suspended and Tyler Herro (knee) and Terry Rozier (knee) are sidelined due to injuries.

  • Heat's Jaime Jaquez: Low minutes continue

Jaquez totaled 12 points (4-11 FG, 1-5 3Pt, 3-3 FT), six rebounds, two assists and three steals across 23 minutes during Tuesday's 121-95 win over the Magic. Miami is mostly healthy these days, and with Terry Rozier in town, Jaquez has seen his minutes trend in the wrong direction. Over his past seven games, the rookie played 23.3 minutes per contest to go with averages of 8.3 points, 3.9 rebounds, 2.3 assists, 1.3 steals and 1.3 turnovers.

Jaquez (groin) will play but will come off the bench in Saturday's game versus the Knicks, Anthony Chiang of the Miami Herald reports. Jaquez will make his return following a six-game absence due to a groin injury. • Heat's Jaime Jaquez: Slated to return Saturday

Jaquez (groin) is available for Saturday's game against the Knicks. Jaquez missed six straight games due to a left groin strain but will return to action Saturday. He was a regular starter before his absence, averaging 16.3 points, 4.5 rebounds, 2.7 assists and 1.3 steals while starting 11 of his past 12 appearances. However, it's unclear if he'll reclaim a starting spot upon his return, as the Heat are back to full strength and added Terry Rozier to the mix since Jaquez last played.

  • Heat's Jaime Jaquez: Missing two-game road trip

Jaquez (groin), who has been ruled out for Monday's game in Brooklyn, didn't travel with the team on its road trip and will remain sidelined through Wednesday's contest in Toronto, ESPN.com reports. Jaquez will stay behind in Miami to receive further evaluation after he exited early in the second quarter of Sunday's 104-87 win over the Hornets due to a left groin strain. The rookie first-round pick was on his way to another strong outing prior to departing, finishing the day with 15 points (7-11 FG, 1-1 FT), five rebounds, two assists and one steal in 15 minutes. Head coach Erik Spoelstra said after Sunday's win that Jaquez was being viewed as day-to-day, so the 22-year-old could conceivably be ready to play Friday versus Atlanta after the team returns from its two-game road trip.

  • Heat's Jaime Jaquez: Won't return Sunday

Jaquez has been ruled out for the remainder of Sunday's game against the Hornets due to a left groin strain, Tim Reynolds of Associated Press reports. Jaquez was part of the starting lineup Sunday for the 11th time in the last 12 matchups, but he was ruled out for the remainder of the game shortly after halftime. He tallied 15 points (7-11 FG, 1-1 FT), five rebounds, two assists and a steal in 15 minutes before leaving the game, and it's not yet clear whether he'll be available Monday against the Nets.

  • Heat's Jaime Jaquez: Strong showing Friday

Jaquez finished Friday's 99-96 victory over Orlando with 19 points (8-16 FG, 0-2 3Pt, 3-3 FT), seven rebounds, three assists and one steal across 37 minutes. Jaquez has been trusted with a larger offensive role due to the absence of Jimmy Butler (calf) and others. The former UCLA standout has fared well with increased usage, averaging 15.8 points, 3.8 rebounds and 3.3 assists per game since the start of January.

  • Heat's Jaime Jaquez: Productive in starting role

Jaquez totaled 21 points (6-9 FG, 3-5 3Pt, 6-9 FT), five rebounds and two assists in 34 minutes during Wednesday's 128-120 loss to the Thunder. Jaquez has looked comfortable in a starting role, and the absence of Jimmy Butler (foot) will mean the rookie should continue having a strong upside in the foreseeable future. The former UCLA standout has started in all but one of his last 10 outings, a span in which he's putting up 16.2 points, 4.2 rebounds, 2.7 assists and 1.3 steals per contest.

Jaquez is questionable for Saturday's game against the Jazz due to an illness. Jaquez hasn't yet missed a game this season, but that streak is in jeopardy due to an illness. The Heat have a long injury report, so at the moment, it's unclear what their rotation will look like versus Utah.

  • Heat's Jaime Jaquez: Solid outing as starter

Jaquez closed with 17 points (7-15 FG, 2-5 3Pt, 1-2 FT), five rebounds, six assists and one steal across 39 minutes during Thursday's 114-102 win over the Warriors. Jaquez has settled himself as a starter with Jimmy Butler (calf) sidelined, and the rookie out of UCLA has done an excellent job on both ends of the court. Even though he's not expected to hover around the 30-point mark like he did against the 76ers on Christmas Day, it's worth noting Jaquez has performed well when given the chance, scoring in double digits in six of his eight starts. He's averaging 16.7 points per game in December.

  • Heat's Jaime Jaquez: Keeps producing

Jaquez recorded 18 points (8-14 FG, 1-3 3Pt, 1-1 FT), five rebounds, four assists and two steals over 35 minutes during Saturday's 118-116 win over the Bulls. Jaquez continuing to produce in an elevated role, even with Caleb Martin fully reintroduced to 30-plus nightly minutes as well, is extremely encouraging for the rookie's rest-of season-value. Jaquez has been a seamless fit to Miami's offense, improving the Heat's scoring performance by 4.8 points per 100 possessions through his first 26 games.

  • Heat's Jaime Jaquez: Gets buckets in win

Jaquez provided 18 points (5-8 FG, 2-3 3Pt, 6-6 FT) and one assist in 24 minutes before fouling out of Monday's 116-114 victory over Charlotte. Uncharacteristically, Jaquez contributed little outside of points, although his aggressiveness was on display defensively prior to fouling out Monday. The rookie has scored at least 14 points in nine of his past 10 games, hitting 46.9 percent of 3.2 triples per game over that span.

  • Heat's Jaime Jaquez: Hits for career-high 24

Jaquez closed Thursday's 142-132 win over Indiana with 24 points (8-13 FG, 1-3 3Pt, 7-7 FT), five rebounds, one assist and one steal over 33 minutes. It was a career-best scoring effort for the 18th overall pick in the 2023 NBA Draft, as Jaquez continues to take advantage of Tyler Herro's absence due to an ankle injury. The 22-year-old wing is averaging 32.4 minutes in 11 games since Herro was sidelined, posting 16.0 points, 4.6 boards, 3.0 assists, 1.6 threes and 1.0 steals with a 53.8/46.2/90.0 shooting line that belies his status as a rookie. Herro should be back in the lineup early in December, but Jaquez doesn't figure to give up his increased role in the rotation easily.
