Shannon finished Thursday's 116-101 win over Oklahoma City with 13 points (4-10 FG, 1-4 3Pt, 4-4 FT), six rebounds and one assist in 29 minutes. The rookie first-round pick received a season-high 29 minutes with Mike Conley (finger), Julius Randle (groin), Rudy Gobert (back) and Donte DiVincenzo (toe) all on the shelf. Shannon missed his only field-goal attempt and recorded no other statistics while playing the final 59 seconds of Wednesday's 127-108 win over the Bulls. He had been cleared to return last Saturday, but he didn't appear in either of the Timberwolves' last two games in coach's decisions.

  • Timberwolves' Terrence Shannon: Drafted by Minnesota at No. 27

Shannon was selected by the Timberwolves with the 27th overall pick in the 2024 NBA Draft. As a five-year college player at Illinois, Shannon comes into the league at nearly 24 years old. However, he carries with him notable accolades from last season, including first-team All-Big Ten and third-team All-American. The 6-foot-6 wing is a strong defender and a crafty scorer who can fill it up in a variety of ways, though he especially thrives in transition. As a rookie, Shannon will fight for reserve minutes with players like Nickeil Alexander-Walker, Kyle Anderson and fellow rookie Rob Dillingham.
