  • Grizzlies' Cam Spencer: Ineligible for postseason

Spencer, who is on a two-way contract with the Grizzlies, is ineligible for the NBA postseason. Spencer played in 25 games on the NBA level, averaging 4.2 points, 1.2 rebounds and 1.4 assists per game, shooting 41.5 percent from the floor and 35.8 percent from beyond the arc. The 25-year-old guard suited up for eight games with the G League's Memphis Hustle, finishing with averages of 23.5 points, 3.6 rebounds, 3.5 assists and 1.0 steals per game, shooting 53.8 percent from the floor and 49.3 percent from beyond the arc.

  • Grizzlies' Cam Spencer: Productive in first career start

Spencer notched 23 points (8-19 FG, 5-13 3Pt, 2-2 FT), two rebounds, seven assists and three steals over 37 minutes during Sunday's 132-97 victory over the Mavericks. Spencer made the first start of his career and posted an impressive stat line, surpassing the 20-point mark and ending just three assists away from a double-double. However, most of the regulars are expected to return for Tuesday's matchup against the Warriors in the Play-In Tournament, meaning Spencer should return to having a minimal role off the bench going forward.

  • Grizzlies' Cam Spencer: Making first career start

Spencer will start Sunday's game against the Mavericks, Grant Afseth of DallasHoopsJournal.com reports. With most of Memphis' regulars sidelined, Spencer will make his first career start. The rookie has played double-digit minutes only nine times this season, scoring in double figures twice.

  • Grizzlies' Cam Spencer: Back in rotation Saturday

Spencer totaled three points (1-1 FG, 1-1 3Pt) across five minutes during Saturday's 109-103 victory over Detroit. Spencer moved back into the rotation, albeit for a short five-minute stint. It's been an underwhelming rookie campaign for Spencer, who has played in just 22 games thus far. In 9.4 minutes per game, he is averaging 3.7 points on 42.4 percent shooting from the floor.

  • Grizzlies' Cam Spencer: Scores 16 points off bench

Spencer notched 16 points (5-9 FG, 4-7 3Pt, 2-2 FT), three rebounds, one assist and three steals in 20 minutes during Monday's 120-118 victory over the Suns. Spencer has been an absolute star in the G League this season, but he's been limited to just 13 appearances at the NBA level. Monday's outing was his best by a wide margin, although it's worth noting he saw sizable minutes since the Grizzlies were missing several rotation players. Spencer isn't expected to play a sizable role in the rotation once the Grizzlies are at full strength, so his fantasy upside shouldn't increase dramatically based on one good game.

  • Grizzlies' Cam Spencer: Ruled out Wednesday

Spencer (thumb) has been ruled out for Wednesday's game against the Clippers. Spencer won't play another game for the Grizzlies until after the All-Star break while working his way back from left thumb surgery. It remains uncertain when the rookie guard will get back on the floor for Memphis.

  • Grizzlies' Cam Spencer: Out again Tuesday

Spencer (thumb) won't play Tuesday night against the Suns. Spencer will miss another matchup while rehabbing from left thumb surgery. His next chance at a return will arrive Wednesday against the Clippers, though a timetable for his return remains unclear at this point.

  • Grizzlies' Cam Spencer: Remains out for Saturday

Spencer (thumb) has been ruled out for Saturday's game against the Thunder. Spencer has been sidelined since early January after undergoing surgery on a broken left thumb. The Grizzlies have yet to provide a clear update on where Spencer stands in his recovery, so the rookie may be at risk of being sidelined through the All-Star break.

  • Grizzlies' Cam Spencer: Puts up 14 points in blowout win

Spencer contributed 14 points (4-8 FG, 2-4 3Pt, 4-4 FT), five assists, four rebounds and one steal in 25 minutes during Sunday's 140-112 victory over the Wizards. Spencer hadn't seen action for the NBA club since Nov. 23, but the two-way player was summoned from the G League to provide depth Sunday while Ja Morant (back) and Desmond Bane (toe) were sidelined. While the rookie second-round pick came through with a well-rounded line off the bench, he could find himself back outside of the rotation if Morant and Bane are back in action for the Grizzlies' next game Friday versus the Nets.

  • Grizzlies' Cam Spencer: Available vs. Philadelphia

Spencer (ankle) is available for Wednesday's game against the 76ers. Spencer could see some minutes off the bench due to the absences of players such as Vince Williams (ankle), Marcus Smart (illness) and John Konchar (illness). That said, he's not expected to see enough time to be a reliable fantasy option in most formats.

  • Grizzlies' Cam Spencer: Upgraded to questionable

Spencer (ankle) has been upgraded to questionable for Wednesday's game against the 76ers. Spencer was given an estimated timetable of three weeks back on Nov. 1, so his potential return would provide a big boost to Memphis. Marcus Smart (illness) and John Konchar (illness) are doubtful Wednesday and Vince Williams (ankle) has been ruled out, so Spencer could see some rotation minutes if he gets the green light to play.

  • Grizzlies' Cam Spencer: Out at least three more weeks

The Grizzlies announced Friday that Spencer (ankle) will be re-evaluated in approximately three weeks. Spencer sustained a right ankle sprain during the Las Vegas Summer League and was on track to return for training camp before concurrently suffering a talar stress reaction. Given he's on a two-way deal, when he's cleared to suit up, he'll presumably report to the G League's Memphis Hustle to begin his NBA career.

  • Grizzlies' Cam Spencer: Limited to start preseason

Grizzlies general manager Zach Kleiman said Monday that Spencer recently suffered an ankle sprain and will miss the beginning of preseason, Brett Siegel of ClutchPoints.com reports. Spencer was shut down at the end of the Summer League with a minor ankle sprain, but it's unclear if this is related. A second-round pick in the 2024 NBA Draft, Spencer was already facing an uphill battle to crack the rotation before this injury.

  • Grizzlies' Cam Spencer: Agrees to two-way deal

Spencer signed a two-way contract with Memphis on Monday. Spencer was drafted with the No. 53 pick in the 2024 NBA Draft and has since put pen to paper on a two-way deal. This contract will allow him to continue his development and see regular playing time in the G League while also making him available to contribute at the NBA level as needed.

  • Grizzlies' Cam Spencer: Headed to Memphis

The Grizzlies selected Spencer with the No. 53 overall pick in the 2024 NBA Draft. Spencer was a five-year collegiate player who stepped into the spotlight after transferring to UConn for his final season in 2023-24. He helped lead the Huskies to their second straight national title, averaging 14.0 points, 4.9 rebounds, 3.6 assists and 1.5 steals over 33.0 minutes per contest in 40 total appearances. If Spencer is able to carve out a career at the NBA level, it will likely be on the back of his elite shooting ability, as he converted 44 percent of his 5.6 three-point attempts per contest at UConn.
