  • 76ers' Kenneth Lofton: Logs five minutes off bench

Lofton (personal) tallied two points (1-4 FG, 0-2 3Pt) and one rebound over five minutes Wednesday in the 76ers' 127-104 loss to the Warriors. Lofton, one of Philadelphia's three two-way players, appeared in game for either the 76ers or the G League's Delaware Blue Coats for the first time since Jan. 10, after he had been out of action for most of the past month due to an AC joint sprain in his left shoulder as well as a personal matter. With the 76ers ruling out six other players to injuries, Lofton received some run off the bench in garbage time, but the second-year big man will likely head to Delaware once the NBA club is closer to full strength.

  • 76ers' Kenneth Lofton: Out again

Lofton (personal) is listed as out for Monday's game against the Trail Blazers. Lofton hasn't appeared in a game for the 76ers or the G League's Delaware Blue Coats since Jan. 10. He had initially been dealing with an AC joint sprain in his left shoulder, but he now finds himself sidelined due to personal reasons for a second straight game. He will most likely make his next appearance in the G League whenever he's available.

  • 76ers' Kenneth Lofton: Won't play Saturday

Lofton (shoulder) is listed as out for Saturday's game versus Denver due to personal reasons. Lofton, one of the 76ers' three two-way players, hasn't seen any action at the NBA or G League level since Jan. 10 due to an AC joint sprain in his left shoulder. The 76ers are classifying his absence differently for Saturday's game, perhaps hinting that he's fully healed from the shoulder injury. In any case, Lofton is unlikely to factor into the Philadelphia frontcourt rotation anytime soon and is expected to make his next appearance in the G League whenever he's cleared to play again.

The 76ers assigned Lofton (shoulder) to the Delaware Blue Coats of the G League on Thursday. Lofton will return to the G League after missing the 76ers' last three games with a joint sprain in his left shoulder. • Kenneth Lofton: Officially waived

Lofton was waived by the Grizzlies on Monday, Shams Charania of The Athletic reports. Lofton was a logical cut candidate with Memphis needing to clear a roster spot in advance of Ja Morant's return from a 25-game suspension Tuesday. Bismack Biyombo has entrenched himself as a part-time contributor in the Grizzlies' frontcourt since being signed in early November, and his initial addition to replace Steven Adams (knee) is what created the roster crunch. Across 31 G League appearances last season, Lofton shot 64.3 percent at the rim and 31.6 percent on his catch-and-shoot threes, so there is credence to him potentially being claimed by another franchise off waivers. Charania notes that Lofton is expected to receive free-agent interest if he goes unclaimed.

  • Grizzlies' Kenneth Lofton: On way out of Memphis

The Grizzlies are expected to waive Lofton when Ja Morant is eligible to return to the 15-man roster Tuesday following the conclusion of his 25-game suspension, Damichael Cole of The Memphis Commercial Appeal reports. After taking home G League Rookie of the Year honors while playing on a two-way deal with Memphis in 2022-23, Lofton has been an occasional contributor to the rotation for the injury-riddled Grizzlies in his second NBA season. However, the 6-foot-6, 275-pound big man was ultimately deemed expendable after he averaged just 6.6 minutes per game across 15 appearances. The Grizzlies used the roster exemption they were granted with Morant's season-opening absence to sign Bismack Biyombo, and he looks as though he'll stick with the club on a more permanent basis since he's been a more valuable contributor to the rotation than Lofton this season. Though Lofton lacks athleticism and perimeter shooting, the dominance he displayed as a scorer and rebounder in the paint in the G League could allow him to catch on elsewhere as an end-of-roster player.

  • Grizzlies' Kenneth Lofton: Excels in second unit

Lofton closed Wednesday's 133-109 loss to the Jazz with 12 points (4-7 FG, 1-1 3Pt, 3-9 FT), five rebounds, two assists and two steals across 19 minutes. Luke Kennard struggled early and gave way to Lofton in the first quarter. The same thing occurred in the fourth quarter with David Roddy, where Lofton did most of his damage. He played well enough to keep Roddy off the floor for the rest of the contest. Although he had his best performance of the season Wednesday, he had totaled just six minutes of playing time over his first two appearances during the 2023-24 campaign, so he may struggle to replicate these results consistently.

  • Grizzlies' Kenneth Lofton: Impresses in loss

Lofton tallied 24 points (9-12 FG, 2-4 3Pt, 4-6 3Pt), 10 rebounds, two assists and two steals in 30 minutes during Wednesday's 83-74 Summer League loss to the Clippers. Lofton led both teams in scoring Wednesday. The 20-year-old big man has been one of the standout players of the Summer League so far and is poised for a bigger role in Memphis in 2023-24.

  • Grizzlies' Kenneth Lofton: Continues to flourish

Lofton recorded 15 points (5-12 FG, 1-5 3Pt, 4-4 FT), six rebounds, four assists, four steals and one block in 28 minutes during Monday's 100-77 Summer League loss to the Cavaliers. Lofton has flashed his defensive potential through his first three Summer League appearances. However, his efficiency took a dip Monday. Lofton will likely compete with Santi Aldama for a rotation spot in 2023-24.

  • Grizzlies' Kenneth Lofton: Scores 21 in Summer League debut

Lofton tallied 21 points (6-15 FG, 2-4 3Pt, 7-10 FT), 13 rebounds, four assists and two steals in 30 minutes during Monday's Summer League game against the 76ers. Lofton led the Grizzlies with 21 points and feasted on the glass, easily recording a double-double in his first action of Summer League. The big man held a limited role during the 2022 campaign by averaging 5.0 points, and 2.1 rebounds in 7.3 minutes per contest (24 appearances), but he'll aim to carve out a bigger role heading into the 2023-24 season.

  • Grizzlies' Kenneth Lofton: Will come off bench

Lofton will return to the second unit for Sunday's Game 1 against the Lakers, Harrison Faigen of SBNation.com reports. Lofton put up 42 points over 40 minutes in Memphis' regular-season finale, but he'll be lucky to crack the rotation in Game 1. He's not someone to target in daily fantasy leagues.

  • Grizzlies' Kenneth Lofton: Scintillating in season finale

Lofton amassed 42 points (17-25 FG, 0-2 3Pt, 8-12 FT), 14 rebounds and one steal over 40 minutes during Sunday's 115-100 loss to the Thunder. The G League's Rookie of the Year got his big opportunity with the Grizzlies holding out most of their key rotation players in the regular-season finale, and Lofton didn't disappoint. All of Jaren Jackson, Xavier Tillman and Santi Aldama will absorb most of the minutes in the frontcourt once the postseason begins, but Lofton will at least be eligible to play after the Grizzlies recently upgraded him from a two-way contract. Lofton showed Sunday that he may have a bright fantasy future ahead of him if he can capture a regular role in the Memphis rotation in his second season in 2023-24.

  • Grizzlies' Kenneth Lofton: Will briefly join Hustle

Lofton will shift to the G League Hustle on Friday morning before returning to the Grizzlies for the evening's tilt against the Clippers. Lofton will likely play a sizable role in the Hustle's playoff game Friday morning before returning to the Grizzlies as bench depth. He's unlikely to see the floor for any meaningful run Friday evening versus the Clippers, and he'll likely move between the two levels as long as the Hustle are still alive in the playoffs.

  • Grizzlies' Kenneth Lofton: Scores 11 in 10 minutes

Lofton had 11 points (5-9 FG, 1-1 3Pt), two rebounds, three assists, one block and two steals in 10 minutes during Friday's 151-114 win over the Rockets. Lofton was able to clean up in garbage time, doing all of his damage in 10 minutes. Lofton has seen double-digit minutes in four of the past six games, but his sporadic role makes him hard to trust in most fantasy formats despite the upside.

  • Grizzlies' Kenneth Lofton: Transferred to G League

The Grizzlies transferred Lofton to the G League's Memphis Hustle on Friday. Lofton, Jake LaRavia (back) and Kennedy Chandler were all sent to the G League on Friday but will rejoin the NBA club ahead of Saturday's matchup against Dallas. Lofton has appeared in five of the Grizzlies' past 11 contests, but he's failed to play more than four minutes in any of those matchups.
