  • Pistons' Jaden Ivey: Finishes with 25 points

Ivey closed with 25 points (9-16 FG, 1-6 3Pt, 6-9 FT), two rebounds, three assists, one block and one steal in 32 minutes during Friday's 136-113 loss to the Pacers. Ivey started the season on the bench but has started the last three games for Detroit, and his uptick in numbers has been noticeable -- he has surpassed the 15-point plateau in two of those contests. Ivey has scored in double figures in four of his last five contests.

  • Pistons' Jaden Ivey: Starting Sunday

Ivey (illness) will start Sunday's contest against the Raptors, Blake Murphy of Sportsnet.ca reports. With Killian Hayes (shoulder) out, Ivey will get his first look in the starting lineup this season. When Ivey has played at least 19 minutes this season (seven times), he's averaged 12.7 points, 2.9 rebounds, 2.9 assists and 0.9 steals in 22.4 minutes per game.

  • Pistons' Jaden Ivey: Takes on light role in return

Ivey (illness) played 11 minutes and tallied six points (2-4 FG, 0-2 3Pt, 2-2 FT), two assists and one steal in Sunday's 119-108 loss to the Bulls. The Pistons brought both Ivey and Alec Burks (forearm) back from multi-game absences Sunday, but the latter (21 minutes) nearly doubled up the latter in terms of playing time. Even before he missed four straight games with the illness, Ivey had already seemed to be falling out of favor with head coach Monty Williams. After averaging 31.1 minutes per game as a rookie, Ivey hadn't topped 23 minutes in any of his first six outings prior to falling ill. In addition to fighting with Burks for minutes behind starting guards Killian Hayes and Cade Cunningham, Ivey will also have to fend off rookie first-round draft pick Marcus Sasser, who has made a case for a regular role by averaging 10.2 points on 49.4/43.2/100 percent shooting splits so far this season.

  • Pistons' Jaden Ivey: Available Sunday

Ivey (illness) is available for Sunday's contest against the Bulls. Ivey missed four straight games due to an illness but will return to action Sunday. He lost his starting job to Killian Hayes to begin the campaign, but Ivey should still garner a bench role versus Chicago. Across six appearances, Ivey has averaged 11.8 points, 2.5 rebounds and 2.5 assists in 20.7 minutes per game.

  • Pistons' Jaden Ivey: Listed as questionable

Ivey (illness) is questionable to play Sunday versus Chicago. Ivey has missed four consecutive games while dealing with an illness. Marcus Sasser has been seeing heavy usage in his absence.

  • Pistons' Jaden Ivey: Still sidelined Friday

Ivey (illness) won't play in Friday's game versus the 76ers. Ivey's absence streak will extend to four games Thursday due to a non-COVID illness. Marcus Sasser will likely continue to receive extended minutes in his absence. Ivey's next chance to suit up will be Sunday's matchup with Chicago.

  • Pistons' Jaden Ivey: Out again Wednesday

Ivey (illness) has been ruled out for Wednesday's game against Milwaukee. Ivey will miss his third consecutive contest will battling an illness. His next chance to take the court is Friday against Philadelphia.

  • Pistons' Jaden Ivey: Considered questionable

Ivey (illness) is questionable for Monday's matchup against the Warriors. Ivey missed Sunday's matchup due to an illness and may be sidelined for the second half of Detroit's back-to-back as well. Alec Burks (forearm) is doubtful and Joe Harris (shoulder) is out, so the Pistons' backcourt may be shorthanded behind Killian Hayes and Cade Cunningham.

  • Pistons' Jaden Ivey: Sitting out Sunday

Ivey (illness) has been downgraded out for Sunday's game against the Suns, James L. Edwards III of The Athletic reports. A late addition to the injury report after apparently falling ill overnight, Ivey will end up missing his first game of the season Sunday. Killian Hayes and Cade Cunningham will start in the backcourt, while Marcus Sasser and Joe Harris should be primary backcourt options off the bench with Alec Burks (forearm) joining Ivey on the sideline.

  • Pistons' Jaden Ivey: Late addition to injury report

Ivey (illness) is officially questionable for Monday's game against Phoenix. Ivey being unable to play would leave Detroit thin in the backcourt with Alec Burks (forearm) doubtful and Bojan Bogdanovic (heel) and Monte Morris (quad) amid multi-week absences. Marcus Sasser and Killian Hayes would see extra usage.

  • Pistons' Jaden Ivey: Solid effort off bench Monday

Ivey closed Monday's 124-112 loss to the Thunder with 20 points (7-13 FG, 4-6 3Pt, 2-2 FT), two rebounds, three assists, one block and one steal over 19 minutes. Ivey lost his starting role ahead of the 2023-24 season but made a solid claim to recover it with this impressive outing, as he was one of the leading scorers for the Pistons despite logging just 19 minutes. Ivey has struggled with consistency, however, scoring in double digits in two of his four outings but struggling badly with his shot in the other two. Through four bench appearances -- and not seeing more than 25 minutes in any of those contests -- he's averaging 12.3 points and 3.3 assists per game.

  • Pistons' Jaden Ivey: Sees just 17 minutes off bench

Ivey closed with four points (1-7 FG, 0-2 3Pt, 2-3 FT), two rebounds and three assists over 17 minutes during Wednesday's 103-102 loss to the Heat. During the preseason, it became clear that the Pistons would use Ivey off the bench, but his relatively small workload on Opening Night comes as a surprise. Detroit seemed to prioritize Killian Hayes (31 minutes), who started alongside Cade Cunningham, as well as Alec Burks (25) ahead of Ivey in the rotation. Meanwhile, rookie Marcus Sasser saw 10 minutes of action, while veteran Joe Harris played 12 minutes. Keep a close eye on Ivey's workload when the Pistons are back in action Friday at Charlotte.

  • Pistons' Jaden Ivey: Won't start opener

Ivey won't start Wednesday's regular-season opener against the Heat, James L. Edwards III of The Athletic reports. Ivey started 73 of 74 appearances as a rookie last year but will open the 2023-24 campaign as a reserve while Killian Hayes gets a look with the first unit. Ivey should still see a sizable role off the bench with Monte Morris (quadriceps) sidelined.

  • Pistons' Jaden Ivey: Starting Friday

Ivey is in the starting lineup for Friday's preseason game against the Mavericks. With Bojan Bogdanovic (calf) out again, Ivey will start alongside the Pistons' usual first unit. Ivey is expected to run the second unit for Detroit this season, but new head coach Monty Williams hasn't set anything in stone just yet.

  • Pistons' Jaden Ivey: Scores 15 points off bench

Ivey finished Sunday's preseason loss to the Suns with 15 points (5-8 FG, 3-6 3Pt, 2-4 FT), four rebounds, four assists, a steal and a block in 23 minutes. It was a strong debut for Ivey, who didn't need a full workload to post a well-rounded fantasy line. Perhaps the biggest news item, however, is that Ivey came off the bench while Detroit started Cade Cunningham, Alec Burks and rookie Ausar Thompson alongside Isaiah Stewart and Jalen Duren. It's unclear if the Pistons would consider starting Burks over Ivey during the regular season, but at the very least it's worth monitoring whether Ivey is in the starting lineup against OKC on Thursday.

  • Pistons' Jaden Ivey: Part of future

The Pistons picked up the 2024-25 team option on Ivey's rookie contract Monday, James L. Edwards III of The Athletic reports. Ivey excelled as a rookie, posting 16.3 points, 5.2 assists and 3.9 rebounds in 31.1 minutes per game. He may handle less usage with Cade Cunningham back in action after a lost 2021-22 campaign, but the Pistons are hoping Cunningham and Ivey will be their starting backcourt for years to come.

  • Pistons' Jaden Ivey: Posts double-double

Ivey tallied 22 points (9-15 FG, 2-6 3Pt, 2-3 FT), 10 assists, three rebounds, two steals and a block over 29 minutes during Sunday's 113-101 Summer League loss to the Rockets. Ivey was impressive as a primary ballhandler, getting to the rim off the dribble and finding his teammates for easy baskets. Ivey averaged 16.3 points, 5.2 assists and 3.9 rebounds in 74 appearances during his rookie season, and he'll look to take a second-year jump with a Pistons team that should have its core rotation back healthy.

  • Pistons' Jaden Ivey: Leads team in points, assists

Ivey recorded 24 points (8-18 FG, 5-8 3Pt, 3-3 FT), nine assists and two rebounds in 31 minutes before fouling out of Wednesday's 107-106 loss to the Thunder. Ivey kept the Pistons in the game early with 13 first-half points on 4-of-7 shooting from the field, adding five assists and two rebounds. After a quiet third quarter, the point guard recorded another eight points and three dimes in the final period before fouling out with 1:48 left in the game. He's now reached the 20-point mark in three straight games, doing so while shooting 48 percent from the field, 50 percent from downtown and 94.7 percent from the free-throw line. Ivey should continue to shoulder a heavy burden on offense down the stretch while the likes of Bojan Bogdanovic (Achilles) and Alec Burks (foot) are sidelined.

  • Pistons' Jaden Ivey: Teases triple-double in loss

Ivey logged 32 points (9-19 FG, 3-6 3Pt, 11-12 FT), eight rebounds and eight assists in 32 minutes during Monday's 126-117 loss to Milwaukee. It was a career-best scoring effort for the rookie, and he came within sniffing distance of his first NBA triple-double. Ivey has scored in double digits in 32 straight games since the beginning of January, a remarkable run of consistency for the 21-year-old as he cements himself as a core piece of the Pistons' rebuild.

  • Pistons' Jaden Ivey: Productive despite blowout

Ivey racked up 20 points (7-13 FG, 2-6 3Pt, 4-4 FT), three rebounds, eight assists and one steal over 41 minutes during Friday's 118-97 loss to the Raptors. Ivey had one of his better all-around performances in recent memory, falling two assists short of a double-double while shooting efficiently from both the field and the charity stripe. While the Pistons are clearly going all-in on their quest for the number one pick, Ivey appears as though he will maintain a substantial role ROS, barring injury. He is someone who should be rostered in most formats, although his limited overall upside does mean he is better suited to fantasy managers seeking points and assists.
