  • Celtics' Kristaps Porzingis: Hopeful to return for Tournament

Porzingis said Tuesday that he's feeling good and making progress in his recovery from a left calf strain, Chris Forsberg of NBC Sports Boston reports. "I think, very soon. Very soon," Porzingis said, regarding his potential return to game action. "Not 100 percent sure if it's going to be next game, but hopefully right after that."

Porzingis' comments essentially rule him out for Friday's game against the 76ers, but he seems to be leaving the door open for a return to the lineup Monday, when the Celtics travel to Indiana to face the Pacers in an In-Season Tournament Quarterfinal game. Head coach Joe Mazzulla said Nov. 26 that Porzingis will be re-evaluated in about a week, so expect the team to provide an update on the big man's status at some point over the weekend. While Porzingis has been sidelined for Boston's last two games, Al Horford has stepped in as the team's starting center, and Luke Kornet has entered the rotation as Horford's primary backup.

  • Celtics' Svi Mykhailiuk: Rare appearance in win

Mykhailiuk contributed no counting stats in two minutes during Tuesday's 124-97 victory over Chicago.

Mykhailiuk saw two minutes in garbage time, just the eighth time he has cracked the rotation all season. He could have seen even more playing time had this not been an In-Season Tournament game. Nonetheless, his role is unlikely to escalate anytime soon, making him a non-factor in fantasy leagues.

  • Celtics' Jrue Holiday: Shines in return

Holiday contributed 14 points (5-8 FG, 4-5 3Pt), seven rebounds, nine assists and one steal in 33 minutes during Tuesday's 124-97 win over the Bulls.

Holiday had arguably his best all-around game of the season during his return from a two-game absence due to a minor ankle injury. The opposition had a lot to do with this, but what better way to ease yourself back in than against an inferior opponent? Anyone rostering Holiday will be hoping he can build off this performance, especially in terms of his assist numbers and efficiency.

  • Celtics' Al Horford: Dominates in blowout win

Horford recorded 16 points (6-8 FG, 4-6 3Pt), nine rebounds, six assists, three blocks and two steals over 28 minutes during Tuesday's 124-97 victory over Chicago.

Horford retained his spot in the starting lineup, filling in admirably for Kristaps Porzingis (calf). The veteran Horford turned back the clock, proving once again just how important he is to the Celtics. While Porzingis isn't slated to miss significant time, Horford is a clear must-roster player until we get word that his teammate is returning.

  • Celtics' Dalano Banton: Moves back to bench

Banton isn't in the starting lineup for Tuesday's game versus the Bulls.

After recovering from his ankle injury, Jrue Holiday will replace Banton in the starting five Tuesday. Banton is averaging 2.5 points and 1.8 rebounds in 6.2 minutes across his previous six appearances coming off the bench this season.

  • Celtics' Derrick White: Playing Tuesday

White (illness) will play Tuesday against Chicago, Keith Smith of Spotrac.com reports.

White was trending in the right direction throughout Tuesday, and he is officially cleared to take the court against the Bulls. Jrue Holiday (ankle) also returns to the lineup, putting Boston at full strength with the exception of Kristaps Porzingis (calf).

  • Celtics' Jrue Holiday: Good to go

Holiday (ankle) is available to play Tuesday against Chicago, Keith Smith of Spotrac.com reports.

Holiday will return from a two-game absence due to a right ankle sprain. He will slot back into the starting lineup alongside Derrick White (illness), who has also been cleared for action. Coach Joe Mazzulla stated that Holiday will not face a minute restriction, per Taylor Snow of the Celtics' official site.

  • Celtics' Derrick White: Shooting around Tuesday

White (illness) is present for shootaround and remains probable for Tuesday's game against the Bulls, Bobby Manning of CLNSMedia reports.

White was dealing with an illness Monday, but he appears on track to take the court Tuesday night. He logged a full workload in Sunday's victory over Atlanta, posting 15 points and 11 assists in 37 minutes.

  • Celtics' Derrick White: Likely to play Tuesday

White is probable for Tuesday's game against the Bulls due to a non-COVID illness.

White has played at least 35 minutes in each of his last three appearances, and he'll likely be able to suit up Tuesday despite his illness. Over his last six outings, he's averaged 15.7 points, 5.7 assists and 3.8 rebounds in 35.5 minutes per game.

  • Celtics' Jrue Holiday: Questionable for Tuesday

Holiday (ankle) is questionable for Tuesday's game against the Bulls, Taylor Snow of the Celtics' official site reports.

Holiday has missed back-to-back games due to a right ankle sprain, but he was able to go through a workout Monday and could return to game action Tuesday. However, if Holiday is sidelined again, Sam Hauser, Dalano Banton and Payton Pritchard would be candidates for increased roles.

  • Celtics' Payton Pritchard: Hits two triples in win

Pritchard posted six points (2-6 FG, 2-6 3Pt) and two rebounds with zero turnovers over 20 minutes in Sunday's 113-103 home win over the Hawks.

Sunday marked Jrue Holiday's (ankle) second consecutive missed game. However, Pritchard once again was not able to seize the opportunity to earn extra minutes at point guard. Coach Joe Mazzulla decided to shift Derrick White to the point and started Dalano Banton at shooting guard. Pritchard continues to struggle with his three-point shot. He is now shooting 32.2 percent this season from behind the arc.

  • Celtics' Neemias Queta: Hauls in 10 rebounds

Queta finished with seven points (3-8 FG, 1-1 FT), 10 rebounds and one steal over 15 minutes during Sunday's 113-103 win over Atlanta.

Kristaps Porzingis (calf) is expected to miss at least a week, so Al Horford started at center, and Queta picked up 15 minutes off the bench compared to nine minutes for Luke Kornet. Queta made a positive impact in just his second appearance of the season, and he may get more opportunities as a result.
