Pelicans' Brandon Ingram: Poor shooting display Friday
Ingram racked up 11 points (4-12 FG, 1-4 3Pt, 2-2 FT), five rebounds and five assists over 26 minutes during Friday's 115-88 loss to Orlando.
Jose Alvarado and Brandon Boston carried a depleted Pelicans team in this loss, but Ingram's overall outing was disappointing. It's not a secret that the veteran forward should be putting up better numbers and operating as a go-to player on offense, especially considering all the absences the Pels are dealing with at the moment. That said, this was the first "subpar" outing from Ingram since the beginning of November. In five games this month, Ingram is averaging 23.2 points, 5.6 rebounds and 5.2 assists per game while shooting 46 percent from the field. Ingram will aim to bounce back in Monday's matchup against the Nets.

Pelicans' Brandon Boston: Scores season-high 26 points
Boston registered 26 points (10-17 FG, 2-4 3Pt, 4-4 FT), six rebounds, three assists and two steals in 38 minutes during Friday's 115-88 loss to the Magic.
Boston is the next man up in a depleted Pelicans backcourt, but he's putting up decent numbers since being handed a more prominent role. He's scored at least 20 points in two of his three starts and is averaging 17.6 points per game in games in which he's logged at least 20 minutes, a trend that should continue for the foreseeable future.

Pelicans' Jose Alvarado: Productive showing once again
Alvarado closed with 21 points (7-18 FG, 4-11 3Pt, 3-6 FT), five rebounds, five assists and three steals in 35 minutes during Friday's 115-88 loss to the Magic.
Alvarado was unable to repeat his outstanding performance from the loss to the Cavaliers on Friday when he scored a season-high 27 points while going 7-for-7 from beyond the arc. However, he posted his second straight game with at least 20 points and scored in double digits for the fifth time in six starts. He's stepping up for the Pelicans amid a rough stretch since four of the projected five starters are injured. Since being promoted to a starting role, Alvarado is averaging 17.2 points, 5.7 assists and 3.7 rebounds per game while shooting an impressive 44.7 percent from deep.

Pelicans' Trey Murphy: Targeting Monday for season debut
Murphy (hamstring) has a target of Monday's game versus the Nets to make his season debut, NBA reporter Chris Haynes reports.
Murphy has missed the first 10 games of the 2024-25 campaign due to a strained right hamstring. While the 24-year-old forward will likely be eased back into the rotation, there should be plenty of minutes up for grabs with Zion Williamson (hamstring), Jordan Hawkins (back), Herbert Jones (shoulder), CJ McCollum (thigh) and Dejounte Murray (hand) all dealing with injuries.

Pelicans' Jeremiah Robinson-Earl: Returning to starting five Friday
Robinson-Earl will enter the starting lineup in Friday's matchup versus the Magic.
With Zion Williamson ruled out with a hamstring injury, Robinson-Earl will step into the starting five once again. The 24-year-old started in Monday's loss to the Trail Blazers, during which he posted 12 points (5-7 FG, 2-4 3Pt), five rebounds, one assist and one steal across 34 minutes.

Pelicans' Zion Williamson: Won't play against Orlando
Williamson (hamstring) is out for Friday's game versus the Magic.
Williamson has been downgraded from questionable to out, marking his fourth absence of the season. First, he was sidelined due to an illness, then right hamstring tightness and right thigh soreness. And now, left hamstring tightness. This is certainly a concerning trend for the oft-injured forward. In Williamson's absence, Jeremiah Robinson-Earl and Javonte Green are both candidates to start against Orlando. Williamson's next chance to suit up is Monday's matchup with Brooklyn.

Pelicans' Trey Murphy: Won't play against Orlando
Murphy (hamstring) has been downgraded to out for Friday's game versus the Magic, Erin Summers of Bally Sports New Orleans reports.
Murphy has been downgraded from doubtful to out due a strained right hamstring that has kept him sidelined for the beginning of the 2024-25 campaign. Murphy's next chance to suit up is Monday's matchup with Brooklyn, and while it's unclear when exactly Murphy will be available again, it appears his season debut is inching closer after he was initially listed as something other than out for the first time this season.

Pelicans' Jordan Hawkins: Out at least one week
The Pelicans announced Friday that Hawkins will miss 1-to-2 weeks due to a low back strain, Erin Summers of the Gulf Coast Sports & Entertainment Network reports.
The second-year guard was set for a significant uptick in playing time in a depleted backcourt that's already missing Dejounte Murray (hand) and CJ McCollum (adductor), but he'll instead join New Orleans' growing injury list. Hawkins returned to game action off the bench in Wednesday's loss to Cleveland, though he was rusty in his 19 minutes, going 1-for-7 from the field. With Hawkins sidelined, Brandon Boston should continue starting on the wing alongside Brandon Ingram, though he could move to the bench once Trey Murphy (hamstring) returns to action, possibly as soon as Monday's game versus the Nets.

Pelicans' Jordan Hawkins: Won't play against Orlando
Hawkins (back) is out for Friday's game versus the Magic.
Hawkins returned to action Wednesday but is now set to miss another contest Friday due to lower back tightness. In his absence, Brandon Boston and Jaylen Nowell are candidates to receive increased playing time. Hawkins' next chance to suit up is Monday's matchup with Brooklyn.

Pelicans' Trey Murphy: Unlikely to play Friday
Murphy (hamstring) is listed as doubtful for Friday's game versus the Magic.
Murphy has yet to play this season while recovering from a strained right hamstring. Although Murphy is unlikely to suit up Friday, his status being listed as doubtful instead of out is a good sign that he is nearing a return to action.

Pelicans' Zion Williamson: Iffy for Friday
Williamson is listed as questionable for Friday's game versus the Magic due to left hamstring tightness.
Williamson returned to action Wednesday after being sidelined for New Orleans' previous two contests but is now in danger of missing Friday's game. If Williamson is unable to suit up against Orlando, Javonte Green and Jeremiah Robinson-Earl are candidates to receive increased playing time.

Pelicans' Javonte Green: Posts season-high 11 points
Green racked up 11 points (4-6 FG, 1-2 3Pt, 2-2 FT), three rebounds and three steals in 30 minutes during Wednesday's 131-122 loss to the Cavaliers.
With Trey Murphy (hamstring) and Herbert Jones (shoulder) out, Green has received increased playing time in New Orleans' forward rotation. Green is averaging 5.3 points, 3.2 rebounds and 1.4 steals in 21.6 minutes across nine appearances. The veteran is also displaying impressive efficiency, posting 55.2/41.7/91.7 shooting splits.

Pelicans' Brandon Ingram: Hits for 20 in Wednesday's loss
Ingram produced 20 points (9-20 FG, 2-8 3Pt), five rebounds, five assists, one block and one steal across 39 minutes during Wednesday's 131-122 loss to Cleveland.
The 27-year-old forward has scored at least 20 points in four straight games and seven of nine to begin the season, helping to cover for the Pelicans' injury-depleted backcourt. Ingram is producing at the upper end of his usual range, averaging 24.1 points, 6.1 boards, 4.6 assists, 2.4 threes and 1.6 combined steals and blocks while shooting 49.4 percent from the floor, which would be his best mark since 2018-19.

Pelicans' Brandon Boston: Productive in second start
Boston notched 14 points (4-11 FG, 2-5 3Pt, 4-4 FT), two rebounds, five assists and one block in 38 minutes during Wednesday's 131-122 loss to the Cavaliers.
While he couldn't match the 20 points he delivered Monday against the Trail Blazers, Boston was productive again in his second straight start and just the third of his NBA career. The former Clipper has stepped into a bigger role with both CJ McCollum (thigh) and Dejounte Murray (hand) on the shelf, averaging 15.5 points, 3.8 assists, 3.0 boards, 1.8 threes and 1.0 steals in 32.0 minutes over the last four contests. Boston seems to have leapfrogged 2023 first-round pick Jordan Hawkins on the depth chart at shooting guard for the time being.

Pelicans' Jose Alvarado: Pops for 27 in loss to Cavs
Alvarado provided 27 points (10-14 FG, 7-7 3Pt), two rebounds, five assists and three steals across 35 minutes during Wednesday's 131-122 loss to the Cavaliers.
The fourth-year guard has his best scoring night of the season while making his fifth straight start with both Dejounte Murray (hand) and CJ McCollum (thigh) sidelined. Since moving into the starting five, Alvarado is averaging 16.4 points, 5.8 assists, 3.4 boards, 3.4 threes and 1.4 steals a contest. His productive run should continue for another week or more with neither of the Pelicans' injured stars expected back until later in November.

Pelicans' Zion Williamson: Big second half in loss
Williamson chipped in 29 points (9-18 FG, 11-13 FT), eight rebounds, four assists, one block and one steal in 29 minutes during Wednesday's 131-122 loss to Cleveland.
The 24-year-old forward missed the prior two games due to thigh and hamstring soreness, and it looked like Williamson may have returned too soon when he played only 10 minutes in the first half before heading to the locker room to get his thigh checked out. He was back on the court to begin the second half, though, and he nearly single-handedly kept the Pelicans in the game by pouring in 23 points after the break. Injuries remain the biggest concern with Williamson, who has suited up for only six of New Orleans' first nine contests, but he's on pace for career-best production in rebounds (8.0 per game), assists (5.3) and blocks (1.2). His 22.7 points a game should rise along with his career-low 45.8 percent shooting from the floor if he can stay in the lineup and get into a rhythm.
