  • Brent Grimes: No plans to retire

Grimes does not intend to retire this offseason, Greg Auman of The Athletic reports.

Grimes continues to test the waters of free agency after three seasons in Tampa Bay. The 35-year-old made 48 tackles, one forced fumble and six defended passes across 13 games in 2018, failing to record an interception for the first time since 2012, when he played in only one game. Though the four-time Pro Bowler intends to suit up for a 13th NFL season, it remains to be seen whether any teams are interested in bringing him in as a starter.

  • Buccaneers' Brent Grimes: Rare interception-less season

Grimes, who was credited with five solo tackles and three passes defensed in a Week 17 loss to the Falcons, finished the 2018 season with 48 tackles (42 solo), one forced fumble and six pass break-ups across 13 games.

Grimes was as active as ever in the tackle department, and he's now managed no fewer than 48 stops in the last nine seasons in which he's played at least 12 games. However, the veteran also failed to record an interception for the first time in a season in which he suited up for at least that many contests, as Grimes had only logged a combined three appearances in the other two campaigns (2007 and 2012) in which he'd failed to nab at least one pick. Moreover, the 35-year-old's six defensed passes qualified as his lowest figure since 2008. Grimes played 2018 on a one-year, $7 million contract, and he could therefore well be on the move this offseason, especially with a new coaching staff imminent.

  • Buccaneers' Brent Grimes: Solid in return to action

Grimes totaled four tackles (three solo) in the Buccaneers' 28-14 loss to the Saints on Sunday.

Grimes made his return from a one-game absence due to a knee injury and turned in a solid performance, although he was part of a secondary that allowed 11 receptions to Michael Thomas. The veteran corner has no fewer than three and as many as six stops in every game he's played this season, but he's uncharacteristically yet to record an interception and has been credited with just three defensed passes despite seeing plenty of action his way. He'll look to get his hands on a ball from the still developing Lamar Jackson in a Week 15 tilt against the Ravens.

  • Buccaneers' Brent Grimes: Active in Week 14

Grimes (knee) is active for Sunday's Week 14 game against the Saints.

The veteran corner will thus make his return after a one-game absence. Grimes will look to help a Buccaneers secondary that picked off Cam Newton four times in Week 13 turn in another stellar effort versus the formidable challenge of Drew Brees and company.

  • Buccaneers' Brent Grimes: Questionable for Sunday

Grimes (knee) is questionable for Sunday's game against the Saints, Greg Auman of The Athletic reports.

Grimes was a full participant in practice all week and is trending towards suiting up Week 14. If he's able to take the field against the Saints on Sunday, expect Grimes to play his usual starting role.

  • Buccaneers' Brent Grimes: Practices in full

Grimes (knee) was a full participant in Wednesday's practice, Scott Smith of the Buccaneers' official site reports.

Grimes sat out last week's win over the Panthers due to a knee issue, but now appears to have gotten fully healthy. Barring any setbacks, expect the starting cornerback to suit up against the Saints on Sunday.

  • Buccaneers' Brent Grimes: Inactive in Week 13

Grimes (knee) is inactive for Sunday's Week 13 tilt against the Panthers.

Grimes' inactive status comes on the heels of the late-week deterioration of his health. The veteran corner regressed from full participant Wednesday all the way to non-participant Friday, and he's now officially set to miss his first game since Week 2 and third overall this season. With Grimes, Carlton Davis (knee) and M.J. Stewart (foot) all in street clothes Sunday, Scott Smith of the team's official site reports that Ryan Smith and De'Vante Harris will be the Buccaneers' starting corners against the Panthers.

  • Buccaneers' Brent Grimes: Questionable for Sunday

Grimes has a knee injury and is questionable for Sunday's game against the Panthers, Scott Smith of the Buccaneers' official site reports.

Grimes was added to the injury report Thursday as a limited participant and didn't practice Friday, so his availability for this weekend appears to be in doubt. With Carlton Davis (knee) and M.J. Stewart (foot) already ruled out and Justin Evans (toe) also questionable, the Buccaneers could be dangerously thin in the secondary Sunday.

  • Buccaneers' Brent Grimes: Active on tackle front in loss

Grimes tallied five tackles (three solo) and broke up a pass in the Buccaneers' 37-34 loss to the Bengals on Sunday.

The veteran corner actually checked in third on the team in tackles behind only Justin Evans and Lavonte David. However, Grimes was also an integral component of a secondary that once again allowed a productive day to the opposition, which included a pair of touchdowns passes. Grimes is providing solid IDP production for a cornerback with 23 tackles in five games, but he has yet to snag an interception and has a meager two pass breakups to his credit.

  • Buccaneers' Brent Grimes: Active in season debut

Grimes (groin) totaled six tackles (all solo) in the Buccaneers' 30-27 loss to the Steelers on Monday.

Grimes finally took the field for his season debut after being sidelined for the first pair of contests due to the groin injury. The veteran corner was victimized on a quick pass to Antonio Brown in the second quarter, as he missed a tackle on the speedy receiver in a drive that yielded a 27-yard touchdown. The fact that Grimes was merely back on the field was helpful enough for the Bucs, who are short on corner help with Vernon Hargreaves (shoulder) on injured reserve. Grimes will look to continue working back into shape against a less intimidating Bears passing attack in Week 4.

  • Buccaneers' Brent Grimes: Ready to make season debut

Grimes (groin) is active for Monday night's game against the Steelers, Scott Smith of the Buccaneers' official site reports.

Grimes has missed the first two games of the season after suffering a groin injury leading up Week 1, but he appears to have put the issue behind him. Tampa Bay's defense should be improved with Grimes' return, as they attempt to stop Ben Roethlisberger and the Steelers' high-powered offense.

  • Buccaneers' Brent Grimes: Questionable for Monday

Grimes (groin) is questionable for Monday's game against the Steelers, Jenna Laine of ESPN.com reports.

The veteran cornerback was a full participant in practice all week but still carries the questionable designation with him heading into Monday's game. If he does play, it will be his first time seeing the field this season, which may result in limited reps for the cornerback.

  • Buccaneers' Brent Grimes: Full participant in practice Thursday

Grimes (groin) expects to play Monday night against the Steelers after returning to full practice Thursday, Rick Stroud of the Tampa Bay Times reports.
