Thad Lewis: Let go by Ravens
Lewis was released by the Ravens on Friday, ESPN's Adam Schefter reports.
The veteran journeyman was signed for depth midway through the preseason, but with the final roster cuts set for this weekend, the Ravens opted to let Lewis go. Lewis went 8-for-13 for 55 yards against the Saints in Baltimore's preseason finale and finished the night with a 71.0 quarterback rating. His departure could mean that Baltimore will hang onto preseason star Josh Woodrum as the third quarterback.

Ravens' Thad Lewis: Lands deal with Baltimore
Lewis signed a contract with the Ravens on Monday, Jamison Hensley of ESPN.com reports.
The well-traveled Lewis, who has had stints with seven other teams in seven NFL seasons, will find a new home in Baltimore after spending the 2016 campaign in San Francisco. He'll join the training-camp roster in place of fellow quarterback Dustin Vaughan, who was waived in a corresponding move. Lewis will provide the Ravens with some more experienced depth behind injured starter Joe Flacco (back) during camp, but Lewis seems unlikely to win a 53-man roster spot if both Flacco and top backup Ryan Mallett are both fully healthy by the time Week 1 arrives.

Thaddeus Lewis: Receives full medical clearance
Lewis (knee) recently received full medical clearance and shouldn't face any restrictions when NFL training camps open in July, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports.
Lewis inked a one-year deal with the 49ers last March and was expected to compete for a backup gig, but was removed from the mix after suffering a season-ending torn ACL in the team's preseason opener. With his knee now fully healed, the well-traveled Lewis, who has spent time with seven NFL teams, should draw interest from clubs still searching for a No. 2 or 3 quarterback. Lewis has posted a respectable 82.2 quarterback rating in seven career regular-season games, though he hasn't appeared in a contest since 2013.
