Steelers' Sean Spence: Strong effort to finish the season
Spence, who recorded six tackles (two solo) in the regular-season finale win over the Browns, finished the 2017 regular season season with 19 tackles (12 solo), including one sack in four games.
After leaving Pittsburgh to play for Tennessee last season, Spence was re-signed after Ryan Shazier (spine) was lost for the final four games. He did an admirable job down the stretch and, though he is an unrestricted free agent, could return in 2018 depending on Shazier's recovery.

Steelers' Sean Spence: Records first sack this season in win
Spence totaled eight tackles (six solo) including a sack in Monday's 34-6 win at Houston.
The Steelers needed a big game from Spence with Ryan Shazier (spine) on injured reserve, and the sixth-year linebacker delivered, sharing the team lead in tackles and notching his first sack this season. Spence will be called upon again in Week 17 against Cleveland, as Pittsburgh is still playing for home-field advantage in the playoffs.

Steelers' Sean Spence: Re-signs with Pittsburgh
The Steelers signed Spence to a contract Wednesday, Teresa Varley of the Steelers' official site reports.
With Ryan Shazier dealing with severe spinal injury and unlikely to play Sunday against the Ravens, the Steelers will bring back Spence, who suited up for 31 regular-season contests with Pittsburgh between 2014 and 2015, to provide some insurance at the second level. Spence played exclusively on special teams in his lone three appearances with the Colts earlier this season, but his familiarity with Pittsburgh's schemes could offer him a better chance at logging defensive snaps in his second stop of 2017.

Colts' Sean Spence: Re-signs with Indianapolis
Spence signed a contract with the Colts on Wednesday.
The former Steelers and Titans linebacker had previously signed a one-year deal with the Colts in March, but was cut earlier this month when the team trimmed its roster to 53 men. However, with the Colts having an open spot on the roster when offensive lineman Denzelle Good (wrist) was placed on injured reserve, Spence was near the top of the list of players the organization wanted to bring back. Spence is expected to serve in a depth capacity at linebacker after accruing 54 tackles and three sacks with Tennessee in 2016.

Colts' Sean Spence: Falling down depth chart
Spence is listed as the fourth-team "WILL" linebacker in the Colts' initial depth chart of the preseason, the Indianapolis Star reports.
Spence signed a one-year free agent contract in the spring and was seen as a potential starter. However, he could be cut this summer since he has just $750,000 guaranteed in his $2.468 million contract.
