Calvin Pryor: Cut by Jaguars
The Jaguars released Pryor on Saturday, Mike Kaye of FirstCoastNews.com reports.
Pryor was traded to the Browns from the Jets in June, but was released prior to the season commencing after a reported altercation with a teammate. He subsequently landed with the Jaguars, but was placed on injured reserve in September with an ankle injury before being designated for a return and suiting up in the team's last two games. After failing to impress while seeing most of his snaps on special teams, the 2014 first-round pick will now look for a new opportunity.

Jaguars' Calvin Pryor: Activated off IR
Pryor (ankle) was activated off the Jaguars' injured reserve list Saturday, Ryan O'Halloran of The Florida Times-Union reports.
The Jaguars had until Wednesday to activate Pryor, but it looks like he will be ready to contribute for their Week 11 contest against the Browns. Pryor, who was acquired from the Jets off waivers prior to Week 1, will be another weapon for an already stacked Jaguars defense.

Jaguars' Calvin Pryor: May come off IR soon
Head coach Doug Marrone believes Pryor (ankle) will be activated from injured reserve Saturday or Sunday, Mike Kaye of WTLV reports.
The Jaguars have until Wednesday, Nov. 22 to activate Pryor, or else he will be placed on season-ending injured reserve. Jacksonville has earned the title of the top-ranked defense through 10 weeks, so it's unclear how the Jags would deal with Pryor's return.

Jaguars' Calvin Pryor: Designated to return from IR
The Jaguars designated Pryor (ankle) as one of their two players eligible to return from injured reserve this season, Ryan O'Halloran of the Florida Times-Union reports.
The transaction means that Pryor's three-week window to return to the 53-man roster begins Wednesday. If Pryor is unable to show significant enough progress in his recovery from the injury to make a return to the active roster, he'll revert to season-ending injured reserve.

Pryor joined the Jaguars only 10 days ago and was inactive for Weeks 1 and 2. It's unknown when exactly he injured his ankle, so the recovery timetable has always been murky. However, the 25-year-old will now need to reach an injury settlement with the team if he wants to play again this season -- unless the Jaguars are willing to use one of their IR-return designations on him, which is unlikely.

Pryor didn't even make it to the regular season in Cleveland, but now he has another opportunity in Jacksonville. After wearing out his welcome with the Jets following a rough first three seasons in the league, Pryor, a 2014 first-round pick, was dealt to the Browns in June, with Cleveland hoping that a change an environment would help the safety tap into his potential. Though Pryor was set to open the upcoming season in a reserve role, the Browns handed him his walking papers after he got into a fight with a teammate prior to Thursday's practice, according to Ian Rapoport of NFL Network. The Browns will likely promote Kai Nacua from the practice squad to take Pryor's spot on the 53-man roster and provide the team with additional depth in the defensive backfield.

Browns' Calvin Pryor: Traded to Browns
Pryor was traded by the Jets to the Browns on Thursday in exchange for linebacker Demario Davis, Mary Kay Cabot of Cleveland.com reports.
Pryor, who was a first-round selection in 2014, averaged 64 tackles per season over his first three years in the league with the Jets. This offseason, however, he had fallen down the team's pecking order at safety as he began working with the third-string defense in OTAs. The Browns like Pryor's experience and upside, and the change of scenery could do the 24-year-old well. Pryor will now look to re-establish his market value after the Jets declined the fifth-year option on his rookie deal, setting the stage for the versatile safety to become a free agent after this season.

Jets' Calvin Pryor: Fifth-year option declined
The Jets informed Pryor on Tuesday that his fifth-year option won't be exercised, Manish Mehta of the New York Daily News reports.
Pryor remains under contract for 2017 in what will be the last year of his rookie deal, but it's expected that the 24-year-old, whose play has been marred by inconsistency over his first three NFL seasons, will see his role decrease. The Jets had been shopping Pryor prior to last weekend's NFL draft, and though they found no takers, the team made upgrading the safety spot a priority in its selections. With first-round pick Jamal Adams and second-round pick Marcus Maye now in the fold, it's quite possible that Pryor may only see the field when coach Todd Bowles deploys three-safety packages. That would allow Pryor to play closer to the line of scrimmage more frequently rather than in coverage, an area where he's struggled throughout his career.
