Jaguars' Eric Murray: Moving on to Jacksonville
Murray is slated to sign a three-year, $22.5 million contract with the Jaguars, Maurice Jones-Drew of NFL Network reports.
Murray shifts from the Texans to an AFC South division rival, becoming positioned to likely operate as one of Jacksonville' starting safeties for the 2025 season, alongside Darnell Savage. He started 14 of his 17 regular-season appearances in Houston last season, piling up 75 tackles (50 solo), including 1.0 sacks, and 10 pass breakups, including one interception.

Texans' Eric Murray: Piles up 75 tackles in 2024
Murray finished the 2024 season with 75 tackles (50 solo), including 1.0 sacks, and 10 pass breakups, including one interception, across 17 regular-season games.
Murray started 14 of his 17 appearances and finished second on the team in tackles and tied for third on the Texans in pass deflections. Murray's 50 solo tackles marked a new career high, and his 14 starts also tied his career best. It was just the third time in nine NFL seasons that Murray didn't miss a single contest. Murray, who recently turned 31 years old, is scheduled to be an unrestricted free agent in March.

Texans' Eric Murray: Paces team with nine stops Week 17
Murray racked up nine tackles (four solo) in Wednesday's 31-2 loss to Baltimore.
Murray's nine stops led the Texans and gave him 19 tackles over his past two games. The veteran safety is up to 71 stops on the season, five shy of the career-best mark of 76 he recorded in 2021. Murray will try to establish a new personal-high total in Week 18 versus Tennessee.

Texans' Eric Murray: Season-high 10 tackles vs. Chiefs
Murray logged 10 tackles (eight solo) during the Texans' 27-19 loss to the Chiefs on Saturday.
Murray's 10 tackles Saturday were his most since Week 11 of the 2021 regular season when he registered 11 tackles against the Titans. The 2016 fourth-round pick is up to 62 combined tackles through 15 regular-season games, and he's close to eclipsing his career-best total from 2021 (76 tackles across 17 regular-season games). Murray will look to get closer to that number against the Ravens on Christmas Day.

Texans' Eric Murray: Healthy for Week 15
Murray (hand) is not listed on Houston's injury report and practiced in full Wednesday.
Murray injured his hand Week 13 versus Jacksonville, but now following the Texans' bye, he's back to full health. The veteran safety will be available to handle his usual key role on defense during Sunday's home matchup against the Dolphins. Murray is averaging just 3.8 total tackles per game with only one interception and 1.0 sacks on the season, so he can safely be left off the fantasy radar in most IDP formats.

Texans' Eric Murray: Sustains hand injury
Murray suffered a hand injury in Sunday's 23-20 win over the Jaguars.
Murray picked up a hand injury in the second half versus Jacksonville, finishing his day with eight total tackles (three solo). The safety will have the advantage of the team's upcoming bye week in order to be ready to go for Houston's matchup with the Dolphins on Dec. 15.

Texans' Eric Murray: Increased role on tap
Murray will start at safety again for the Texans on Sunday against the Colts, Aaron Wilson of KPRC 2 Houston reports.
Murray is no stranger to the role due to injuries suffered in the Texans' secondary, most notably to Jimmie Ward (groin). The Minnesota product has played at least 80 percent of the team's defensive snaps in each of its last four games and hit the 100 percent mark twice. Murray has accumulated 16 combined tackles, including 1.0 sacks and an interception during that time.

Texans' Eric Murray: Signs new deal with Houston
Murray (knee) and the Texans finalized a one-year contract Saturday, Aaron Wilson of KPRC 2 Houston reports.
Murray appeared in six games with the Texans in 2023 before suffering a season-ending knee injury in Week 6 versus the Saints, compiling 13 tackles and a forced fumble in those contests. The safety has spent the last four campaigns with Houston, and he'll now be back for a fifth in 2024, competing with the likes of DeAndre Houston-Carson and others for a top reserve spot in the Texans' secondary.

Texans' Eric Murray: Goes to IR
Houston placed Murray (knee) on its injured reserve list Wednesday.
The knee injury Murray sustained during the first half of Sunday's game versus New Orleans was apparently serious enough that it will warrant his missing at least Houston's next four games. His absence will likely mean increased opportunities for M.J. Stewart.
