Player Outlook
Reynolds has a pretty good shot at being a starter for the Lions for at least the first six weeks of the season. After that, his playing time could take a nosedive depending on how ready to play Jameson Williams is. In the 11 games Reynolds played at least 50% of the snaps in he averaged 3.3 catches and 12.7 yards per catch with three touchdowns. Nothing good there. But in the five games he had at least six targets, Reynolds came through for 15-plus PPR points four times. That's pretty darn good. If it's clear Reynolds will start in Williams' absence, he could be snared with a final-round pick as a potential early-season flex.

  • Lions' Josh Reynolds: Does little with three targets

Reynolds caught one of three targets for 12 yards during Sunday's win over the Saints. Right when it looked like Reynolds was losing grip of the No. 2 WR role, he has his highest snap share since Week 8. However, it may not matter who holds down this role given how the passing game is flowing through Amon-Ra St. Brown and tight end Sam LaPorta. It will be hard to trust any other Lions receiver entering a Week 14 matchup with Chicago.

  • Lions' Josh Reynolds: Two targets against Bears

Reynolds caught one of two targets for 11 yards during Sunday's win over Chicago. Reynolds has totaled four catches for 39 yards on seven targets over the past three weeks despite favorable matchups against the Raiders, Chargers and Bears. Meanwhile, Jameson Williams logged over half of the offensive snaps for the first time in his career last week in Los Angeles before shooting up to a nearly 68 percent figure against Chicago -- and snagging a 32-yard touchdown in the process. While Reynolds still finished second behind Amon-Ra St. Brown with a 73 percent snap share, it wouldn't be a surprise to see Williams jump Reynolds on the depth chart before season's end.

  • Lions' Josh Reynolds: Slump continues

Reynolds caught two of four targets for 15 yards during Sunday's win over the Chargers. After snagging three touchdowns and topping 66 receiving yards four times over the first five games of the year, Reynolds has caught just four of eight targets for 121 yards without a score in four games since. Given that he didn't drop below 70 percent of the offensive snaps in any game over this stretch, playing time isn't to blame for Reynolds' decrease in production. With Donovan Peoples-Jones in the fold plus Jameson Williams fresh off a career-high 52 percent snap share, it could get even harder for Reynolds to earn targets down the stretch.

  • Lions' Josh Reynolds: Not earning targets

Reynolds caught one pass for 13 yards during Monday's win over the Raiders. The Lions leaned heavily on Reynolds and Amon-Ra St. Brown, who each logged at least 83 percent of the snaps while the next-closest receiver, Jameson Williams, checked in at 40 percent. However, Reynolds again did little with his opportunities and has now seen three fewer targets than Williams over the past four weeks despite seeing roughly double the playing time. Reynolds could become an afterthought in the Lions passing game should Williams keep eating into his playing time, though an appetizing Week 10 matchup with the Chargers secondary gives hope for both players to find success after Detroit's Week 9 bye.

  • Lions' Josh Reynolds: Modest production

Reynolds caught two of three targets for 45 yards during Sunday's loss to the Ravens. The volume and production were each the lowest of the season for Reynolds outside of his Week 3 goose egg against Atlanta. On the bright side, Reynolds continued to log around 70 percent of the offensive snaps despite Jameson Williams approaching 50 percent of the snaps for the second time in the past three weeks. The Texas A&M product will look to bounce back Week 8 against a Raiders team permitting the third-fewest passing yards per game in 2023.

  • Lions' Josh Reynolds: Limited volume in win

Reynolds recorded three receptions on three targets for 50 yards in Sunday's 20-6 win over the Buccaneers. Reynolds earned at least five targets in four of his first five games, though he saw a diminished role and fell into a group of three pass catchers with three targets Sunday. He managed to work efficiently with the opportunity, tallying long receptions of 21 and 20 yards. While Reynolds has established himself as a big-play threat, the return of Jameson Williams and the ongoing involvement of Kalif Raymond make consistent production difficult to bank on moving forward.

  • Lions' Josh Reynolds: Week 6 Early Waiver Targets (Add/Drop)

Reynolds continues to make the most of his opportunities, putting up another big game in Week 5, this time with Amon-Ra St. Brown sidelined by an abdominal injury. He had just five targets (an 18% target share even in a low volume game), but turned them into four catches for 76 yards and a touchdown, his third of the season. Reynolds has at least 12.9 PPR points in four of five games this season, though he also has just one game with more than six targets, so there's definitely still some boom-or-bust in his game. However, with how well he's playing, he'll be worth a look as a WR3 in Week 6 against the Buccaneers, especially if St. Brown is still sidelined.

  • Lions' Josh Reynolds: Scores in win

Reynolds caught four of five targets for 76 yards and a touchdown in Sunday's 42-24 win over the Panthers. Reynolds led the Lions in receiving yards on a day when top wideout Amon-Ra St. Brown (abdomen) was sidelined. The veteran had a long catch of 27 yards and helped Detroit build its lead with a one-yard touchdown during the second quarter. Although he wasn't targeted in Week 3, Reynolds has otherwise topped 65 yards in every game this season, scoring three touchdowns in the Lions' last four contests to boot.

  • Lions' Josh Reynolds: Active in Week 5

Reynolds (groin) is active for Sunday's game versus the Panthers. After a week in which he logged a pair of capped practices due to a groin injury, Reynolds will be available to the Lions offense Sunday and may even serve as the top target for quarterback Jared Goff with Amon-Ra St. Brown (abdomen) sidelined. Reynolds is welcoming second-year pro Jameson Williams to the lineup for the first time this season after the latter served a four-game gambling suspension. Having said that, Williams is slated to have a limited role off the bat, so Reynolds should have easy access to targets while working with TE Sam LaPorta and WRs Kalif Raymond and Marvin Jones.

  • Lions' Josh Reynolds: Sleeper WRs

We'll see what happens with the Lions receiving corps with Amon-Ra St. Brown (abdomen) not expected to play since he's listed as doubtful heading into Week 5 against Carolina, and Jahmyr Gibbs (hamstring) is also doubtful. Reynolds, Jameson Williams and Kalif Raymond will have to pick up the slack for Detroit, and St. Brown is averaging 8.8 targets, 6.5 receptions and 82.8 yards this season, with two touchdowns. I'm hopeful the majority of his vacated production goes to Sam LaPorta, but Reynolds now has appeal as a No. 3 Fantasy receiver in the majority of leagues. He's dealing with a groin injury himself, but he's expected to play. And Reynolds has scored at least 12.0 PPR points in two of three games this season while sharing the field with St. Brown.

  • Lions' Josh Reynolds: Another limited listing

Reynolds (groin) was limited at Thursday's practice. For the second time in three weeks, Reynolds is operating with a cap on his practice reps due to a groin injury. In Week 3, he was able to log all activity in the final session before going down as questionable, so that may be his fate this time around, too. Reynolds has earned between 69 and 80 percent of the offensive snaps in each of the Lions' four games this season en route to 12 catches (on 19 targets) for 215 yards and two touchdowns.

  • Lions' Josh Reynolds: Groin injury resurfaces

Reynolds was listed as a limited participant on Wednesday's practice estimate due to a groin injury. Reynolds also tended to a groin issue during Week 3 prep that left him questionable to play after he practiced on a limited basis Wednesday and Thursday before upgrading to full activity Friday. He appears to be operating under a similar plan this week, but he'll have two more sessions to prove his health before the Lions potentially tag him with a designation ahead of Sunday's contest against the Panthers. Through four games this season, Reynolds has hauled in 12 of 19 targets for 215 yards and two touchdowns. He could, however, see his volume in the passing game take a hit moving forward with 2022 first-round pick Jameson Williams eligible to make his season debut this weekend after missing the first four games while serving a suspension.

  • Lions' Josh Reynolds: Week 5 Adds (WR Preview)

Reynolds is much better than Boyd in non-PPR and slightly better in half. I would not expect Jameson Williams to impact Reynolds for a while, if at all. Reynolds is averaging 11 Fantasy points per game and has at least nine in every game but one. He's the best deep threat on the Lions until Jameson Williams is ready for a full time role.

  • Lions' Josh Reynolds: Back in box score

Reynolds caught three of six targets for 69 yards during Thursday's win over the Packers. Reynolds again logged the majority of offensive snaps and saw another six targets for the third time in four weeks. Oddly coming off a zero-target showing Week 3, it was encouraging for his fantasy investors to see Reynolds back in the box score even if it remains a concern that he can completely disappear from a game. With Marvin Jones ineffective at this stage of his career and the diminutive Kalif Raymond largely a clear-out runner, Reynolds should be good for a handful of targets every week as the next-best wideout after Amon-Ra St. Brown.

  • Lions' Josh Reynolds: Muted by Falcons

Reynolds was held without a target during Sunday's 20-6 win over Atlanta. Reynolds was muted by a Falcons secondary while Amon-Ra St. Brown and Kalif Raymond received all 18 targets that Jared Goff directed to wide receivers. However, even though the Texas A&M product did log three-quarters of the offensive snaps, it's possible that part of his ineffectiveness was due to a groin injury that landed Reynolds on the injury report in advance of Sunday's game. With Jameson Williams (suspension) still on the sidelines, Reynolds will look to bounce back Thursday in Green Bay.

  • Lions' Josh Reynolds: Ready to go Sunday

Reynolds (groin) is active for Sunday's game against the Falcons. Reynolds and Amon-Ra St. Brown (groin) have both received the green light to play Sunday, despite the fact both wideouts had been listed as questionable heading into the day. Considering Reynolds closed Week 3 prep as a full practice participant Friday, the expectation is that he'll be able to handle his normal workload Sunday. In both of his first two games of the season, Reynolds has cleared 69 percent of the snaps while compiling nine receptions for 146 yards and two touchdowns on 13 targets.

  • Lions' Josh Reynolds: Questionable, but good to go

Reynolds (groin), who is listed as questionable for Sunday's game against the Falcons, is considered "good to go," Tom Pelissero of NFL Network reports. Along with Reynolds, the Lions are also listing Amon-Ra St. Brown (toe) as questionable, but both wideouts look as though they'll be ready to handle their normal workloads Sunday. Considering that Reynolds was at least able to practice fully Friday before taking the questionable tag into the weekend, he may be in better health than St. Brown, who plans to play with a steel plate in his shoe to reduce pain. Official confirmation on the availability of Reynolds and St. Brown will arrive when the Lions release their inactive list 90 minutes prior to Sunday's 1 p.m. ET kickoff, but assuming he's cleared of the injury designation as anticipated, Reynolds may shape up as a solid lineup option in deeper leagues. Through the first two weeks of the season, he's hauled in nine of 13 targets for 146 yards and two touchdowns.

  • Lions' Josh Reynolds: Sleeper WRs

Reynolds is off to a great start this season with nine catches for 146 yards and two touchdowns on 13 targets in two games, and he should be the No. 2 receiver in Detroit until Jameson Williams returns in Week 7 from his suspension. Going back to last season, Reynolds now has seven games with at least six targets, and he scored at least 12 PPR points in six of them. I like Reynolds as a high-end No. 3 Fantasy receiver in all leagues in Week 3 against Atlanta, and the Falcons just allowed three touchdowns to the Packers receivers in Week 2.

  • Lions' Josh Reynolds: Logs another limited session

Reynolds (groin) was a limited practice participant Thursday. Reynolds has been very efficient with his reps to kick off the current campaign, hauling in nine of 13 targets for 146 yards and two touchdowns. That equates to 16.2 YPC and 11.2 YPT, which will be difficult to maintain moving forward. Still, Reynolds' groin injury is a pressing issue, which is capping his on-field reps during Week 3 prep. Friday's practice report will reveal whether or not he'll enter the weekend with a designation for Sunday's game versus the Falcons.

  • Lions' Josh Reynolds: Week 3 Adds (WR Preview)

Reynolds has seen a 20% target share the first two weeks and a 30% air yards share thanks to his downfield targets. He has the trust of Jared Goff and should remain No. 2 behind only Amon-Ra St. Brown until at least Week 7. I wouldn't be surprised if it's even longer than that.
