Player Outlook
We view Everett as a TE2 who should not be drafted in the first 12 rounds of most Fantasy leagues, but it's not hard to make a sleeper case for him. Kellen Moore is his offensive coordinator and Moore turned Dalton Schultz into a must-start option after reviving the ghost of Jason Witten for a borderline TE1 season. If you remove Week 15 when Everett only played 10 offensive snaps, he averaged 8.9 FPPG last year, which would have put him right in between Tyler Higbee and Cole Kmet despite the worst efficiency stats of his career. Everett gets the Dolphins in Week 1, which could make him a popular streaming option for those who punt the position since the Dolphins were one of the worst teams in the league against tight ends last year.

  • Chargers' Gerald Everett: TEs to Sit

One of my favorite stats this week is that the Chargers have had a tight end score at least 10.8 PPR points in five of the past seven games, with Everett hitting that mark three times over that span, including Week 12 against Baltimore when he caught four passes for 43 yards and a touchdown on four targets. That said, he doesn't have an easy matchup in Week 13 at New England since the Patriots are No. 5 in fewest Fantasy points allowed to tight ends. I don't mind Everett as a low-end starter in deeper leagues if you're desperate, but New England has only allowed one touchdown to a tight end and just three guys to top 7.6 PPR points this year.

  • Chargers' Gerald Everett: Week 13 Waiver Priority List

The Chargers have had a tight end score at least 10.8 PPR points in five of the past seven games, with Everett hitting that mark three times over that span, including Week 12 against Baltimore when he caught four passes for 43 yards and a touchdown on four targets. He doesn't have an easy matchup in Week 13 at New England since the Patriots are No. 5 in fewest Fantasy points allowed to tight ends, but Everett can still be used as a low-end starter in deeper leagues. He also gets Denver in Week 14, and Everett is worth adding for up to 5 percent of your FAB.

  • Chargers' Gerald Everett: Scores in return from injury

Everett (chest) pulled in all four of his targets for 43 yards and a touchdown in Sunday's 20-10 loss to the Ravens. Everett's status for Sunday Night Football was truly questionable due to a chest injury until he was eventually cleared for action on the morning of game day. Fantasy managers rocking the veteran tight end have to be pleased with the way things unfolded, as they were rewarded with the only touchdown reception recorded by a Charger on Sunday. Everett boosted his season receiving line up to 25/211/3 heading into next Sunday's matchup against the Patriots.

  • Chargers' Gerald Everett: Gets green light to play Week 12

Everett (chest) is officially active for Sunday's home game against the Ravens. Everett exited early in Week 10 and sat out Week 11, but he's ready to return in Week 12. Donald Parham and Stone Smartt should continue to see playing time alongside Everett, but Everett has been Los Angeles' top pass catcher at tight end when available, with a team-high average of 3.4 targets per game in eight appearances. Baltimore has allowed only one touchdown to a tight end in 2023.

  • Chargers' Gerald Everett: Expected to face Ravens

Everett (chest) is expected to suit up for Sunday's game against the Ravens, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports. Everett, who is officially listed as questionable, appears in line to play Sunday night. The same is true for wideout Jalen Guyton (groin), though Schefter notes both players will need to avoid any pregame setbacks before being cleared. In any case, official word on Everett's availability will come when the Chargers release their inactive list 90 minutes prior to Sunday's 8:20 p.m. ET kickoff.

  • Chargers' Gerald Everett: Questionable for Sunday night

Everett (chest) is listed as questionable for Sunday's game against Baltimore. Everett upgraded to full practice participation Friday and thus seems more likely than not to play. With the Chargers playing the Ravens in the Sunday night game, the lack of clarity regarding Everett's status is still less than ideal for those depending on him in Week 12 lineups. On a positive note, teammate Donald Parham looks like a decent fill-in for Everett if needed, especially with fellow tight end Nick Vannett (concussion) already ruled out. Parham and Stone Smartt took on most of the work at tight end with Everett out for last week's loss to the Packers.

  • Chargers' Gerald Everett: Another limited session

Everett (chest) remained limited at practice Thursday. Everett was also limited Wednesday, so the tight end may need to log a full session Friday in order to avoid approaching Sunday night's contest against the Ravens with an injury designation. If Everett -- who was sidelined Week 11 -- returns to the mix this weekend, he'll profile as a hit-or-miss fantasy option after having compiled a 21-167-2 line on 27 targets through eight games to date this season.

  • Chargers' Gerald Everett: Limited in return to practice

Everett (chest) was a limited participant at practice Wednesday, Eric Smith of the Chargers' official site reports. Everett didn't practice at all last week, so his ability to practice Wednesday -- albeit in a limited capacity -- improves the tight end's chances of returning to action Sunday against the Ravens. That said, Everett will need to practice fully by Friday in order to avoid heading into the weekend with an injury designation.

  • Chargers' Gerald Everett: Back at practice Wednesday

Everett (chest) is taking part in practice Wednesday, Daniel Popper of The Athletic reports. Everett missed the Chargers' Week 11 loss to the Packers due to a chest injury he suffered in the previous game, but he's back on the practice field as Los Angeles begins preparations for its matchup with Baltimore on Sunday. The extent of Everett's participation won't be clarified until practice concludes, but the tight end looks to be trending in a positive direction after he was unable to practice in any fashion a week earlier.

  • Chargers' Gerald Everett: Won't play in Green Bay

Everett (chest) has been ruled out for Sunday's game against the Packers. Everett has battled myriad injuries throughout the season, and the latest is a chest injury that he picked up in the Week 10 loss to Detroit. The issue will keep the tight end off the field this Sunday, which should lead to more playing time for Donald Parham. Everett's next chance to suit up will come Week 12 against the Ravens.

  • Chargers' Gerald Everett: Dealing with chest injury

Everett remained sidelined at practice Thursday due to chest injury, Daniel Popper of The Athletic reports. Everett left the Chargers' Week 10 loss to the Lions early due to a back injury and was listed as a non-participant Wednesday on the team's first Week 11 practice report with the same issue, but the team has since updated the nature of his injury. in any case, two straight absences to begin Week 11 prep cloud the tight end's availability for Sunday's game against the Packers. He'll need to practice fully Friday in order to avoid taking an injury designation into Sunday.

  • Chargers' Gerald Everett: Not practicing

Everett (back) didn't practice Wednesday. The Chargers consider Everett day-to-day following his early exit from Sunday's 41-38 loss to the Lions. If he isn't available this Sunday at Green Bay, the Chargers likely will turn to some combination of Donald Parham (hip), Stone Smartt and Nick Vannett in a committee at tight end.

  • Chargers' Gerald Everett: Considered day-to-day

Coach Brandon Staley said Monday that Everett (back) is day-to-day, Daniel Popper of The Athletic reports. Everett departed Sunday's game against the Lions early in the second half due to a back injury and was unable to return, finishing Week 10 with no catches on two targets. Outside of two touchdown grabs in eight appearances this season, he's been contained to 21 receptions on 27 targets for 167 yards. If Everett is unable to play or is limited for a Week 11 contest at Green Bay, Donald Parham would take on a larger role.

  • Chargers' Gerald Everett: Hurts back against Lions

Everett (back) is questionable to return to Sunday's game against the Lions, Daniel Popper of The Athletic reports. Everett failed to catch either of his two targets before getting hurt. The veteran tight end has battled various injuries throughout the season, and the severity of this latest one has yet to be determined.

  • Chargers' Gerald Everett: Sleeper TEs

Everett only had two catches for 18 yards in Week 9 at the Jets on two targets, but none of the Chargers skill players had a big outing in an easy 27-6 victory on Monday night. In his two previous games, Everett scored a touchdown and had at least 10.8 PPR points in each outing against Dallas in Week 6 and Kansas City in Week 7 (he missed Week 8 with a hip injury). With Josh Palmer (knee) out, Everett should be a prime target for Justin Herbert, and that should play well against the Lions in Week 10. Detroit is No. 6 in most Fantasy points allowed to opposing tight ends, and I like Everett as a starter in deeper leagues in Week 10.

  • Chargers' Gerald Everett: Week 10 Waiver Priority List

We'll see if Everett can step up without Josh Palmer (knee) for the next three games, and Everett is worth adding in deeper leagues for 1 percent of your FAB. He didn't do well in Week 9 at the Jets with two catches for 18 yards on two targets, but none of the Chargers stood out in an easy 27-6 victory. He missed Week 8 with a hip injury, but prior to that, Everett scored at least 10.8 PPR points in consecutive games. Hopefully he can get back to that level starting in Week 10 against Detroit.

  • Chargers' Gerald Everett: Hardly utilized in win

Everett caught both of his targets for 18 yards in the 27-6 win over the Jets on Monday. Everett certainly looked spry after missing the previous week with a hip injury, rumbling forward on a broken checkdown pass for 17 yards in the first half. Unfortunately for fantasy managers, the Jets offense hardly put up a fight, and the team attempted its second-fewest pass attempts (30) of the 2023 campaign, relegating Everett to an afterthought in this one.

  • Chargers' Gerald Everett: Full practice Thursday

Everett (hip) practiced fully Thursday. Everett was held out of this past Sunday night's win over the Bears, but the tight end's full participation in Thursday's practice sets the stage for him to rejoin the Chargers' lineup Monday night against the Jets. Through six games, Everett has put up a 19-149-2 line on 23 targets, a pace that limits his fantasy utility to deeper formats, though it's worth noting that the 2017 second-rounder has found the end zone in each of his last two outings.

  • Chargers' Gerald Everett: Inactive against Bears on SNF

Everett (hip) is inactive for Sunday night's game against the Bears. Despite practicing fully Friday, Everett came down to a game-time decision and has ultimately been ruled out. In Everett's absence, additional opportunities at tight end should be available for Donald Parham, with Stone Smartt and Tre' McKitty possibly sliding into larger roles as well. Everett's next chance to play will come on MNF against the Jets in Week 9.
