Commanders' Dorance Armstrong: Logs 5.0 sacks for new team in 2024
Armstrong registered 39 tackles (20 solo), including 5.0 sacks, along with a defensed pass and two forced fumbles over 16 regular-season games in 2024.
After spending his first six NFL campaigns with Dallas, Armstrong signed a three-year contract with Washington last March. The defensive end logged a career-high 592 defensive snaps and 39 stops in his first season with the Commanders, though his sacks total dropped from 7.5 last season to 5.0 in 2024. However, Armstrong upped his game in the playoffs, recording 3.5 sacks over Washington's three contests. He'll likely retain a key role in 2025 and perhaps carry over his strong postseason performance into more consistent production throughout the campaign.

Commanders' Dorance Armstrong: Sacks Penix in Week 17
Armstrong recorded four total tackles (one solo), including 1.0 sacks, in Sunday's 30-24 overtime win over the Falcons.
Armstrong has now logged a sack in two of his last three games after recording just 3.0 sacks over his first 12 contests this season. The 27-year-old stripped Michael Penix in the fourth quarter of Sunday's win, though the fumble was recovered by Atlanta. Armstrong has been relatively productive in his first season in Washington, tallying 36 total tackles, including 5.0 sacks, and two forced fumbles over 15 appearances. He's expected to continue starting opposite Dante Fowler as part of the Commanders' top edge-rushing duo in the Week 18 matchup against Dallas.

Commanders' Dorance Armstrong: Finally back in sack column

Commanders' Dorance Armstrong: Will suit up against Chicago
Armstrong (ribs) is active for Sunday's game against the Bears, Zach Selby of the Commanders' official site reports.
Armstrong injured his ribs in Week 6 against the Ravens, and the injury is severe enough for him to be sidelined against the Panthers in Week 7. The 2018 fourth-round pick was limited in practice all week, and while he's unlikely to be at 100 percent health, he'll suit up for Sunday's contest. Armstrong has logged 12 tackles (four solo), including 3.0 sacks, and one forced fumble through six regular-season games.

Armstrong (ribs) is listed as questionable ahead of Sunday's matchup against the Bears.
The first-year Commander missed Washington's Week 7 win over the Panthers due to a ribs injury, but he has a chance to return Sunday after practicing in a limited fashion throughout the week. Commanders' Dorance Armstrong: Ruled out for Week 7
Commanders head coach Dan Quinn said Friday that Armstrong (ribs) is ruled out for Sunday's game against the Panthers, John Keim of ESPN.com reports.
Armstrong will miss at least one game due to the ribs injury he sustained during Washington's loss to the Ravens in Week 6. Quinn said Armstrong "had a good week but he's not there yet." The veteran defensive end's next chance to take the field will come Week 8 versus Chicago.
