Player Outlook
We think Sutton should be drafted as a bench receiver, somewhere after pick 80. Sutton's upside over the past two seasons has been almost entirely dependent on Jerry Jeudy being hurt. The duo has run 586 career routes together and Jeudy has scored 228 PPR Fantasy points on those routes while Sutton has scored 120. The Broncos lost Tim Patrick (Achilles) for the season again in camp, but they drafted Marvin Mims in the second round of the NFL Draft. It's still possible that Sutton is not even the No. 2 target earner in this offense after delivering disappointing production in 2022. At the same time, Jeudy has missed nine games over the past two seasons and left multiple games early as well. It's also possible Jeudy gets hurt again and Sutton performs like a top-20 Fantasy wide receiver.

  • Broncos' Courtland Sutton: WRs to Start

Sutton got back in the end zone in Week 13 at Houston after failing to score a touchdown in Week 12 against Cleveland, and he's now scored a touchdown in six of his past seven games, with nine touchdowns on the year. He should have the chance to score again in Week 14 at the Chargers, who are No. 3 in most Fantasy points allowed to opposing receivers. Russell Wilson should continue to lean on Sutton in this matchup, and he has top-15 upside in the majority of leagues.

  • Broncos' Courtland Sutton: Scores ninth touchdown

Sutton recorded two receptions on seven targets for 77 yards and a touchdown in Sunday's 22-17 loss to the Texans. Sutton led the Broncos in targets but spent much of the game squandering his opportunity. That changed late in the third quarter when he made an acrobatic 45-yard touchdown grab, just reaching the front pylon as he was touched down. Sutton has now found the end zone nine times on the campaign -- including six times in his last seven games -- even though he's topped 75 receiving yards only three times this season.

  • Broncos' Courtland Sutton: WRs to Start

Sutton grew up in Texas near Houston and went to SMU, so this should be a fun game for him against the Texans. He played Houston last year in Denver and had seven catches for 122 yards on 11 targets, and hopefully, he can do something similar in the rematch this year. Sutton has scored a touchdown in five of his past six games, and he's scored at least 14.6 PPR points in four games over that span. He's been the best receiving option for Russell Wilson this season, and he's worth starting as a No. 2 Fantasy receiver in all leagues in Week 13.

  • Broncos' Courtland Sutton: Three grabs in Sunday's win

Sutton caught three of six targets for 61 yards in Sunday's 29-12 win over the Browns. Russell Wilson attempted only 22 passes on the day as the Broncos led wire to wire, but Sutton still paced the team in receiving yards and nearly extended his touchdown streak to six games with a 31-yard gain on the opening drive that saw him pushed out of bounds at the Cleveland three-yard line. Samaje Perine scored instead on the next play. While Sutton's TD streak is over, he remains the team's top receiving option with a 48-560-8 line on 68 targets through 11 contests heading into a Week 13 clash with the Texans.

  • Broncos' Courtland Sutton: Catches game-winning TD

Sutton hauled in four of his five targets for 66 yards and a touchdown in Sunday's 21-20 victory over the Vikings. Sutton made the play of the game when he leaped over his defender after running a corner route to grab a lob from Russell Wilson for the game-winning score. The QB/WR duo have already connected in the red zone a whopping eight times this season, resulting in all eight of Sutton's touchdowns through 10 games. The 28-year-old has still yet to eclipse the century mark in receiving yards in any game this year, which might suggest that the wideout's current high ranking in fantasy is being inflated by an unsustainable touchdown rate. That caveat aside, Sutton should continue to be deployed confidently in fantasy lineups, even with a tough matchup against the Browns looming next Sunday.

  • Broncos' Courtland Sutton: Scores in fourth straight

Sutton recorded eight receptions (on 11 targets) for 53 yards and a touchdown in Monday's 24-22 win over the Bills. Sutton remained Russell Wilson's favorite target, as no other pass catcher on the team saw more than four opportunities. Even with a long gain of 30 yards, Sutton managed to average only 6.6 yards per catch. He overcame the lack of big-play ability with a spectacular toe-tapping, seven-yard touchdown reception midway through the first quarter. Sutton now has found the end zone in four consecutive games but has topped 50 receiving yards only twice in that span.

  • Broncos' Courtland Sutton: Scores in win

Sutton caught all six of his targets for 76 yards and a touchdown in Sunday's 19-17 win over the Packers. Sutton led Denver in all major receiving categories. His performance was highlighted by an 18-yard touchdown during the third quarter. Through seven appearances, Sutton has now found the end zone five times, giving him good value ahead of Week 8's game versus the Chiefs.

  • Broncos' Courtland Sutton: WRs to Sit

Sutton has been the best receiver for the Broncos this season, and he comes into Week 7 against Green Bay with at least 11.6 PPR points in all but one game. He also has a touchdown in four of six outings, but I don't love this matchup for him. The Packers are No. 7 in fewest Fantasy points allowed to opposing receivers, and Jaire Alexander could make things uncomfortable for Sutton this week. With Alexander healthy, Green Bay has already held D.J. Moore to 4.5 PPR points in Week 1 and Davante Adams to 8.5 PPR points in Week 5. I would only consider starting Sutton and Jerry Jeudy as No. 3 Fantasy receivers in the majority of leagues for Week 7.

  • Broncos' Courtland Sutton: Bounces back with TD grab in loss

Sutton secured four of six targets for 46 yards and a touchdown in the Broncos' 19-8 loss to the Chiefs on Thursday night. Sutton's modest reception, yardage and target totals all led the Broncos on the night, and he was also the only one on his squad to visit the end zone. The veteran wideout's 11-yard scoring grab in the fourth quarter was a highlight-reel catch, with Sutton securing the ball with his right hand and keeping his feet inbounds while falling and being smothered by Chiefs cornerback Jaylen Watson. Sutton has somehow manage to mostly sidestep the malaise that's hung over the Broncos for most of the season, already recording three touchdown receptions after not having eclipsed two since 2019 and posting at least four catches in four of six games. Sutton's next opportunity to add to his solid start comes in a Week 7 home matchup against the Packers on Sunday, Oct. 22.

  • Broncos' Courtland Sutton: WRs to Sit

Sutton had his worst game of the season in Week 5 against the Jets with one catch for 13 yards on three targets, and I expected him to struggle in that matchup. He should have another tough day against the Chiefs on the road, and Sutton is barely worth starting in three-receiver leagues. He now has eight targets in his past two games for four catches, 40 yards and a touchdown, and Jerry Jeudy has seemingly passed Sutton as the go-to receiver for Russell Wilson with 12 targets in his past two games for nine catches and 102 yards. I don't mind Jeudy as a No. 3 Fantasy receiver in most leagues in Week 6, but I would try to bench Sutton if you can.

  • Broncos' Courtland Sutton: Held to one catch Sunday

Sutton had one reception on three targets for 13 yards in Sunday's 31-21 loss to the Jets. Sutton couldn't create separation against the Jets' secondary, failing to record a reception until late in the fourth quarter. It would wind up being the veteran wideout's lone reception in an overall forgettable performance. Sutton was providing consistent fantasy value with three touchdowns over the four games prior to Sunday's dud. He won't have much time to dwell on his down performance, as the Broncos play Thursday against Kansas City in Week 6.

  • Broncos' Courtland Sutton: WRs to Sit

Sutton has outperformed his Average Draft Position this season (Round 11 on CBS Sports), and he comes into Week 5 having scored a touchdown in three of four games and at least 11.6 PPR points in each outing. But I expect him to struggle in Week 5 against the Jets, and he should only be considered a starter in three-receiver leagues. The Jets have only allowed one touchdown to a wide receiver this season, and Sutton's production could be minimal this week if he fails to find the end zone.

  • Broncos' Courtland Sutton: Has TD in three of four games

Sutton caught three of five targets for 27 yards and a touchdown in Sunday's 31-28 win over Chicago. Sutton actually tied Jerry Jeudy for the team lead in both targets and catches, as Denver erased a 21-point deficit despite running only 47 offensive plays to Chicago's 66. The 6-foot-4 Sutton has caught a touchdown in three of four games in 2023, and he has already surpassed last season's total of two touchdowns in 15 games. He'll look to build on this hot start in Week 5 against the Jets.

  • Broncos' Courtland Sutton: Sleeper WRs

Sutton was one of the lone bright spots for the Broncos in their 70-20 loss at Miami in Week 3, and he had eight catches for 91 yards and a touchdown on 11 targets. He's scored at least 13.2 PPR points in two of three games this season, and he has 18 targets in his past two games. We'll see if Jerry Jeudy can take on a bigger role in Week 4 at Chicago, and both are worth using as starters in three-receiver leagues. I'd also love to see Denver get Marvin Mims more involved, but Sutton is Russell Wilson's go-to receiver right now and should have another productive outing against the Bears.

  • Broncos' Courtland Sutton: Busy day in blowout loss

Sutton brought in eight of 11 targets for 91 yards and a touchdown in the Broncos' 70-20 loss to the Dolphins on Sunday. He also lost two fumbles. Sutton led the Broncos in receptions, receiving yards and targets on a day when Denver simply had no chance of keeping up with a juggernaut of a Dolphins offense. The veteran wideout's performance was one of the few positives for head coach Sean Payton's squad, although his two fumbles did lead to Miami touchdowns, albeit when the game was essentially out of reach. Sutton partly atoned with a 12-yard scoring grab and also set new season highs across the stat sheet. The 27-year-old has looked like a smooth fit in Payton's system thus far, and his fantasy prospects are bright going into a favorable Week 4 road matchup against the Bears.

  • Broncos' Courtland Sutton: Nabs five receptions Sunday

Sutton caught five of seven targets for 66 yards in Sunday's 35-33 loss to Washington. Sutton finished with the most targets and ahead of fellow starter Jerry Jeudy, but it was rookie Marvin Mims (2-113-1) who stole the show as the fantasy standout for Denver on Sunday. The veteran wideout Sutton still put together a decent fantasy game after logging his first touchdown of 2023 last week. Sutton retains his high fantasy floor heading into a Week 3 matchup against the Dolphins next Sunday.

  • Broncos' Courtland Sutton: Finds end zone in Week 1 loss

Sutton brought in four of five targets for 32 yards and a touchdown in the Broncos' 17-16 loss to the Raiders on Sunday. Sutton couldn't benefit much from the absence of Jerry Jeudy (hamstring), but he did salvage his day from a fantasy perspective with a five-yard touchdown grab. The veteran saw quarterback Russell Wilson spread the ball around to 10 different players, although Sutton did co-lead the team in targets with tight end Adam Trautman. Wilson and the rest of the offense are likely to become more productive the more they acclimate to new head coach Sean Payton's offensive concepts. Consequently, Sutton could have a decent chance to improve his overall production in a Week 2 home matchup against the Commanders, irrespective of Jeudy's availability.

  • Broncos' Courtland Sutton: Sleeper WRs

Sutton and rookie Marvin Mims have the chance to play well this week against the Raiders with Jerry Jeudy (hamstring) either out or limited. Sutton is coming off a strong training camp, and Mims has been impressive as a second-round rookie out of Oklahoma. Russell Wilson should lean on this duo, and the matchup isn't daunting, especially with pass rusher Chandler Jones (undisclosed) out for Las Vegas. Sutton is a borderline top-24 receiver in all leagues, and I like Mims as a No. 3 Fantasy receiver in his NFL debut.

  • Broncos' Courtland Sutton: Impressing at camp

Offensive coordinator Joe Lombardi said the team has been "real impressed" with Sutton during training camp and added that the Broncos will rely on him a lot in the upcoming campaign, Zac Stevens of TheDNVR.com reports. After what was a disappointing year for Sutton in 2022, it appears the Broncos are committed to utilizing the veteran receiver in a significant role this season. An increased reliance on Sutton in the passing game could become a matter of necessity to start the season as fellow wideout Jerry Jeudy (hamstring) is set to miss several weeks after an injury suffered during practice Thursday. The 27-year-old is set to headline Denver's receiving corps while Jeudy is on the mend, with rookie Marvin Mims potentially stepping into the No. 2 role for the time being. If the Broncos' offense can turn things around in 2023, Sutton could be headed toward a bounce-back year for fantasy purposes.
