Bills' Jalen Virgil: Inks future deal with Buffalo
The Bills signed Virgil to a reserve/future contract Tuesday.
Virgil caught on with the Bills' practice squad in late August after failing to make the Broncos' 53-man roster at the end of training camp. He was signed to Buffalo's active roster Nov. 8, and after being waived Dec. 14 he was signed back to the practice squad. He ended up playing in seven regular-season games and spent most of his time on special teams, though he did not show up in the box score otherwise. The 26-year-old wide receiver out of Appalachian State will be on the Bills' 90-man roster when the new league year starts March 12, which will allow him to participate in OTAs, minicamp and training camp ahead of the 2025 campaign.

Jalen Virgil: Back with practice squad
Virgil reverted to the Bills' practice squad Monday, per the NFL's transaction log.
Virgil has now been elevated to the Bills' active roster for each of their two playoff games. However, the Appalachian State product didn't play a snap in either contest, likely serving as additional wide receiver depth in case of injuries. He could return to the Bills' active roster for Sunday's AFC Championship Game in Kansas City.

Bills' Jalen Virgil: Elevated again for divisional round
The Bills elevated Virgil from their practice squad to their active roster Saturday.
Virgil was also elevated ahead of last Sunday's wild-card win against Denver, though he ended up being inactive for that contest. Buffalo doesn't have any significant injuries among its receiving corps, so if Virgil is active Sunday in the divisional round against Baltimore, he would likely play primarily on special teams.

Virgil played 15 snaps on special teams during the Bills' 24-21 win over the Patriots and managed to register a tackle while on punt coverage. Virgil has spent two separate stints on the Bills' practice squad this season, but he has reached the three-game maximum for being elevated to the active roster. Thus, the Bills would have to sign Virgil to the 53-man roster in order for him to keep playing in Buffalo.
