Player Outlook
Through three seasons, Hill has as many fumbles and touchdowns. He has never played even 50% of the snaps in a game and has played more than 30% of the snaps eight times through three years. Until Hill lands meaningful snaps, perhaps as third-down back for the Ravens, Fantasy managers shouldn't bother adding him to rosters.

  • Ravens' Justice Hill: Effective in limited role

Hill carried five times for 31 yards in Sunday's 20-10 win over the Chargers. Hill's role remains diminished with Keaton Mitchell's ascent in the offense as the veteran played just 29 percent of the snaps Sunday. He has not played more than 30 percent of the snaps since Week 9 against the Seahawks. Hill was effective on a per-carry basis against the Chargers, but there appears to be a cap on his weekly volume projection with Mitchell, Gus Edwards and Lamar Jackson taking on the bulk of the backfield work. The Ravens are on a bye Week 13 before returning to action Sunday, Dec. 10 against the Rams.

  • Ravens' Justice Hill: Role diminishing in offense

Hill had one carry for one yard and one catch for six yards on 13 snaps Thursday against the Bengals. As many expected with Keaton Mitchell's emergence, Hill's role in the offense is taking a significant cut. Hill has played 13 snaps in each of the last two games, with four combined touches. Mitchell and Gus Edwards appear to be Baltimore's primary backs going forward, leaving Hill to play a reserve role and special teams.

  • Ravens' Justice Hill: Handles two carries in loss

Hill rushed two times for seven yards and wasn't targeted in Sunday's 33-31 loss to the Browns. Hill played just 14 of the Ravens' 54 offensive snaps Sunday, while Gus Edwards played 28 snaps and rookie Keaton Mitchell played 13 snaps in the contest. The veteran's two rushing attempts and seven yards were his lowest in both categories for the season, while Mitchell continued to show that he should earn more playing time as an explosive playmaker. Going forward, Hill could continue to cede snaps and touches to the rookie, further limiting his potential for consistent production. The 26-year-old will be difficult to trust for fantasy purposes when the Ravens host the Bengals in Week 11.

  • Ravens' Justice Hill: High snap count, low production Sunday

Hill had 13 carries for 40 yards in Sunday's win over the Seahawks and did not catch his lone target. While Hill led the Ravens in carries and played the most snaps among running backs, he finished fourth on the team in rushing yardage. Gus Edwards was strong on a per-play basis, rushing for 52 yards and two touchdowns on five carries. However, it was rookie Keaton Mitchell who stole the show and may post the biggest threat to Hill's role going forward. Mitchell took nine carries for 138 yards and a touchdown in his first significant workload of the season. Hill has been solid to this point with a 4.3 YPC average and 15 catches on 16 targets, but Mitchell's emergence Sunday could alter the Ravens' backfield calculus down the stretch. Baltimore hosts a tough Cleveland defense in Week 10.

  • Ravens' Justice Hill: Sleeper RBs

Gus Edwards is worth using as a No. 2 Fantasy running back in Week 9 against Seattle, but this won't be an easy matchup. It's tough to run on the Seahawks, so we could see Hill more involved in the passing game. He just had four catches for 40 yards on four targets in Week 8 against Arizona, and four running backs have at least four receptions against Seattle this season. I like Hill as a flex option in PPR.

  • Ravens' Justice Hill: Week 9 Adds (RB Preview)

Gus Edwards is getting a lot more carries than Hill, but Hill is still the better pass catcher and it is much easier to catch passes as a running back against Seattle than it is to run. They surrender a league-best 3.13 yards per carry to running backs but they give up more than 8.5 PPR FPPG to the position through the air.

  • Ravens' Justice Hill: Ties for team receiving lead

Hill rushed four times for 15 yards and caught all four of his targets for 40 yards in Sunday's 31-21 win over Arizona. Hill watched Gus Edwards rumble for three touchdowns but contributed out of the backfield in passing situations, tying Mark Andrews for the team lead in receiving yards as Lamar Jackson threw for only 157 yards. Hill has topped 30 scrimmage yards in each of his last six games played, and he set a new season high in that category here, topping his Week 2 total by two yards.

  • Ravens' Justice Hill: Week 7 Adds (RB Preview)

The Lions have arguably the best run defenses in football, so it's hard to trust any Ravens running back this week. Hill has the advantage of three-to-four catch upside and he's been the more efficient Ravens' runner this season. He's the closest thing to a good option there is left at running back this late in the week.

  • Ravens' Justice Hill: RBs to Sit

I'd stay away from both Baltimore running backs this week with Hill and Gus Edwards headed into a difficult matchup against Detroit. The Lions are No. 1 in fewest Fantasy points allowed to opposing running backs, and Detroit has yet to allow more than 43 rushing yards to any running back or a touchdown to the position. At best, you can use Hill or Edwards as a flex option, with Hill slightly better given his role in the passing game. He has two games this year with at least 12.5 PPR points, while Edwards has been held to 6.9 PPR points or fewer in four games in a row.

  • Ravens' Justice Hill: Held in check in Week 6 win

Hill carried the ball eight times for 35 yards and caught all three of his targets for zero yards in Sunday's 24-16 win over the Titans. Hill's 4.4 yards per carry was significantly better than Gus Edwards' 2.6 YPC, but the latter still saw more touches on the day with 17, including a 16-8 advantage in carries. The Ravens' backfield timeshare will make it difficult for either RB to make a big fantasy impact, especially in a Week 7 tilt against a Lions defense that's given up only two total touchdowns to the position through five games.

  • Ravens' Justice Hill: Sneaky Sleeper in PPR (Lineup Decisions)

It's a little gutsy to go with Hill, who has been inefficient for much of the year. We're counting on the Ravens outsmarting the big size of the Titans defensive line and utilizing Hill for his speed along the edges and in the passing game. His high-value touch share is the icing on the cake and hopefully can lead to him scoring just over 12 PPR points for the second week in a row. I'd take my chances with him over low-upside running backs like Gus Edwards, Antonio Gibson and Jonathan Taylor (for now he's low-upside).

  • Ravens' Justice Hill: Week 6 Adds (RB Preview)

I don't want to start either Ravens back against the Titans run defense. But if I had to choose one, it would be the guy who works in the passing game and has scored three touchdowns in four games. Hill is a decent flex this week in full PPR.

  • Ravens' Justice Hill: Week 6 Waiver Priority List

Hill surprised us by playing in Week 5 at Pittsburgh after dealing with a foot injury in practice, and he played well with seven carries for 32 yards and a touchdown along with four catches for 13 yards on four targets. He now has three games this season with at least eight total touches, and he's scored at least 12.5 PPR points in two of them. We'll see what Baltimore does with Hill, Gus Edwards and Keaton Mitchell (shoulder) moving forward, but Hill is worth adding in all leagues for 5-10 percent of your FAB. When healthy, he might be Baltimore's most consistent running back given his role in the passing game, and he has more rushing touchdowns than Edwards (3-1) despite missing Week 3 with a toe injury. As for Mitchell (22 percent rostered), continue to stash him in all leagues where you have an IR spot. He might emerge as a threat for the Ravens, but it might take some time for him to make a Fantasy impact if Hill and Edwards are healthy.

  • Ravens' Justice Hill: Finds end zone in Week 5

Hill rushed the ball seven times for 32 yards and a touchdown in Sunday's 17-10 loss to the Steelers. He added four receptions on four targets for 13 yards. Gus Edwards maintained his role as the Ravens' primary rusher, though Hill arguably maintained a more valuable role with work in the red zone and as a receiver. Hill found the end zone midway through the first quarter on a 14-yard scamper, which was his longest gain of the day. He also was the only Baltimore back to catch a pass, but he's managed just 25 yards on seven targets this season. Hill could continue to see a similar role moving forward, though he'll be an unreliable fantasy option due to his lack of reliable volume.

  • Ravens' Justice Hill: Suits up Sunday

Hill (foot/hamstring) is listed as active for Sunday's game against the Steelers. After being limited at practice Wednesday and Thursday, Hill returned to a full practice Friday, setting the stage for the running back to face Pittsburgh. Though Hill will be available Sunday, it remains to be seen how busy he will be in Week 5 with Gus Edwards (15 carries last weekend) slated to log his share of early down work and Kenyan Drake available to mix in. In the Ravens' Week 4 win over the Browns, Hill logged seven snaps and carried three times for 33 yards.

  • Ravens' Justice Hill: Deemed questionable, should play

Hill (foot/hamstring) was a full practice participant Friday and is listed as questionable for Sunday's game in Pittsburgh. Hill missed Week 3 with turf toe before returning for a Week 4 win over the Browns and taking three carries for 33 yards. The addition of a hamstring injury doesn't seem to seriously threaten his availability for Sunday, but Hill may not get a lot of playing time even if he's active. Gus Edwards and Melvin Gordon both played more than Hill in Week 4, and rookie Keaton Mitchell (shoulder) is eligible to come off injured reserve for Sunday's game.

  • Ravens' Justice Hill: Limited again Thursday

Hill (foot/hamstring) remained limited in Thursday's practice, Brian Wacker of The Baltimore Sun reports. Hill played just seven snaps in last week's win over the Browns, as Gus Edwards was in on 40 offensive plays as the lead back. Hill is averaging a mediocre 3.8 yards per carry on the year, totaling 22-83-2 as a rusher in three games. Back-to-back limited practices should put Hill in line to play Sunday against the Steelers.

  • Ravens' Justice Hill: Nursing two injuries Wednesday

Hill (foot/hamstring) was a limited participant in practice Wednesday, Hill was nursing a foot injury heading into this past Sunday's 28-3 win over the Browns, and he appears to have picked up a hamstring injury in that game as well while taking on only three touches. Even if Hill is able to play through the injuries Sunday in Pittsburgh, he could face competition for touches behind Gus Edwards from rookie Keaton Mitchell (shoulder), who practiced fully Wednesday after being designated for return from injured reserve. The Ravens have 21 days to add Mitchell to the 53-man roster, though he could be a candidate to play as soon as this weekend.

  • Ravens' Justice Hill: Week 5 Waiver Priority List

The Ravens backfield continues to be a work in progress with J.K. Dobbins (Achilles) lost for the season, and it will likely remain a committee with two or three players sharing touches for the foreseeable future. For now, Gus Edwards is the lead running back, and he played 69 percent of the snaps in Week 4 at Cleveland. Hill returned from a one-game absence with a toe injury and played just 12 percent of the snaps, but he managed just three carries for 33 yards and no catches. I still have moderate expectations for Hill, who looked better than Edwards prior to hurting his toe in Week 2, and you should add Hill where available for up to 5 percent of your FAB. And, if you have an IR spot, you might want to stash Mitchell, who could return from his shoulder injury as early as Week 5. He had a strong training camp, and he offers plenty of upside. Mitchell ran a 4.37-second 40-yard dash after piling up 2,584 rushing yards and 505 receiving yards over his final two seasons at East Carolina. He's worth 1 percent of your FAB.

  • Ravens' Justice Hill: Just three touches in Week 4

Hill (foot) rushed three times for 33 yards and wasn't targeted in Sunday's 28-3 win over the Browns. Hill suited up after sitting out the previous game, but he got fewer touches than both Gus Edwards (15 carries, three targets) and Melvin Gordon (three carries, one target). If Gordon continues to rotate in on passing downs while Edwards and quarterback Lamar Jackson account for most of the rushing attempts, Hill will have a tough time earning enough touches to make a meaningful impact in Week 5 against the Steelers.
