Player Outlook
Shaheed is one of the more popular deep, deep sleepers after finishing as a WR3 or better in each of his final seven games of the season. In order for Shaheed to become a Fantasy relevant WR again, he'll need volume, and that means Michael Thomas will have to be traded, cut or injured again. If that happens, Shaheed has a realistic opportunity of earning the second-biggest target share behind Chris Olave. In that scenario, Shaheed is worth a late-round draft pick.

  • Saints' Rashid Shaheed: Sitting out Sunday

Shaheed (thigh) is listed as inactive Sunday versus the Panthers. Shaheed hasn't practiced since hurting his thigh Week 12 in Atlanta and now will miss a second straight game as a result of the injury. Meanwhile, the Saints' No. 1 wide receiver, Chris Olave, has been under the weather since Thursday but will be available to the offense Sunday, with A.T. Perry, Lynn Bowden, Keith Kirkwood and Marquez Callaway also on hand to pick up the slack at the position.

  • Saints' Rashid Shaheed: Not expected to play Week 14

Shaheed (thigh) is unlikely to play Sunday against the Panthers, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports. Shaheed is officially listed as questionable, but he didn't practice in any capacity this week while he continues to tend to the thigh injury that knocked him out early in a Week 12 loss to Atlanta and caused him to miss last Sunday's loss to Detroit. Though he'll sit out a second straight contest Sunday, Shaheed will have a chance to return Week 15 versus the Giants, per Schefter. Meanwhile, top wideout Chris Olave (illness) is expected to suit up against Carolina, leaving A.T. Perry, Lynn Bowden, Keith Kirkwood and Marquez Callaway as the available receivers behind him.

  • Saints' Rashid Shaheed: Questionable despite not practicing

Shaheed (thigh) didn't practice at all this week but is listed as questionable for Sunday's game against the Panthers, Matthew Paras of The New Orleans Times-Picayune reports. Shaheed didn't practice or play last week and was ruled out on the Saints' final injury report. The questionable designation for Week 14 can be taken as a sign of progress, though Shaheed still seems more likely than not to be declared inactive ahead of the 1 p.m. ET kickoff this Sunday. Another Shaheed absence this weekend would be especially problematic if Chris Olave (illness) -- also listed as questionable -- isn't able to play through a bout with the flu or is only a shadow of his usual self. A.T. Perry and Lynn Bowden have been the main beneficiaries of added playing time at wide receiver with Shaheed, Olave and Michael Thomas (knee) all struggling to stay healthy of late.

  • Saints' Rashid Shaheed: Spectator for Thursday's practice

Shaheed (thigh) wasn't on the field for Thursday's practice, Nick Underhill of NewOrleans.Football reports. Shaheed hasn't practiced in any fashion since exiting the Saints' Week 12 loss to the Falcons with a thigh injury, putting him at risk of missing a second straight game Sunday against the Panthers if he's unable to get back on the field in some capacity Friday during the team's final Week 14 session. Elsewhere in the Saints' receiver room, top option Chris Olave was missing from practice Thursday, though his absence was due to an illness rather than an injury. Olave thus appears likely to be ready to play Sunday, while A.T. Perry and Lynn Bowden would presumably join him as regulars in three-wide sets if Shaheed isn't able to go against Carolina.

  • Saints' Rashid Shaheed: Remains sidelined Wednesday

Shaheed (thigh) didn't practice Wednesday, Brooke Kirchhofer of New Orleans Football reports. Shaheed missed this past Sunday's loss to the Lions after injuring his thigh in the Saints' Week 12 loss to the Falcons. He hasn't practiced since sustaining the injury, but the speedy receiver and kick returner still has two more chances to return to the field before the Saints host the Panthers on Sunday. With Michael Thomas (knee) on injured reserve, Shaheed could be in store for a larger role on offense if he's able to recover from his thigh injury.

  • Saints' Rashid Shaheed: Week 14 Waiver Priority List

I'm hopeful that Shaheed can return in Week 14 against Carolina after missing Week 13 with a thigh injury, and it will be fun to see him paired with Jameis Winston if he starts for the injured Derek Carr (concussion) as expected. Shaheed should also benefit with Michael Thomas (knee) still out, and Shaheed had nine targets in Week 10 at Minnesota and was on his way to a big workload in Week 12 at Atlanta with five targets before getting hurt. It's worth stashing Shaheed in all leagues for 5-10 percent of your FAB.

  • Saints' Rashid Shaheed: Not playing Sunday

Shaheed (thigh) has been ruled out for Sunday's game against the Lions, Matthew Paras of The New Orleans Times-Picayune reports. During this past Sunday's loss in Atlanta, Shaheed left the game and wasn't able to return due to what was termed a thigh injury. It was reclassified as a quadriceps issue Monday, and he proceeded to miss all three practices during Week 13 prep and won't play this weekend. With one question mark out of the way, the Saints are waiting on Chris Olave (concussion) to gain clearance from an independent neurologist. Whether or not Olave is active Sunday remains to be seen, but A.T. Perry, Lynn Bowden and Keith Kirkwood currently are the health wide receivers on New Orleans' active roster.

  • Saints' Rashid Shaheed: Doesn't practice Thursday

Shaheed (thigh) didn't participate at Thursday's practice, Brooke Kirchhofer of NewOrleans.Football reports. Shaheed has opened Week 13 prep with back-to-back DNPs due to the quadriceps injury that he suffered this past Sunday in Atlanta. He'll thus have only one more chance for on-field work this week before the Saints potentially make a ruling on his availability for Sunday's game against the Lions. With Chris Olave also embedded in the concussion protocol and Michael Thomas (knee) on injured reserve, New Orleans' healthy wide receivers on the active roster are A.T. Perry, Lynn Bowden and Keith Kirkwood.

  • Saints' Rashid Shaheed: Sits out practice Wednesday

Shaheed (thigh) was listed as a non-participant at Wednesday's practice, Matthew Paras of The New Orleans Times-Picayune reports. Shaheed was injured during the second quarter of Sunday's loss to the Falcons and never ended up returning, with Chris Olave (concussion) getting ruled out not long after. Olave at least managed a limited practice Wednesday, and while an earlier report indicated that Shaheed is day-to-day, there's still a decent chance the Saints enter Sunday's game against the Lions without Shaheed, Olave and Michael Thomas (knee). A.T. Perry, Lynn Bowden and Keith Kirkwood were the team's top three receivers for the second half of the Week 12 loss to Atlanta.

  • Saints' Rashid Shaheed: Not seen at practice Wednesday

Shaheed (quadriceps) wasn't spotted at the media-access portion of Wednesday's practice, Matthew Paras of The New Orleans Times-Picayune reports. Meanwhile, fellow wide receiver Chris Olave (concussion) participated in individual drills. With Olave and Shaheed banged up and Michael Thomas (knee) on injured reserve, A.T. Perry, Lynn Bowden and Keith Kirkwood are the healthy wide receivers on the Saints' active roster.

  • Saints' Rashid Shaheed: Unlikely to return Sunday

Shaheed (thigh) is considered doubtful to return to Sunday's game at Atlanta, Greg Auman of Fox Sports reports. With Michael Thomas (knee) on injured reserve, Chris Olave and Shaheed are the Saints' top two wide receivers, but both have made early departures from Week 12 action. The door at least has been left ajar for Shaheed to return, while Olave suffered a concussion and will be subject to the protocol for head injuries moving forward. If Shaheed remains on the sideline, he'll end Sunday with two catches (on five targets) and one punt return for six yards.

  • Saints' Rashid Shaheed: Iffy to return Sunday

Shaheed is questionable to return to Sunday's game against the Falcons due to a thigh injury. Shaheed was targeted five times in the first two quarters and recorded two catches for nine yards, but he appeared to sustain the thigh injury early in the contest and had it flare up once he checked back into the game. According to Katherine Terrell of ESPN.com, Shaheed threw his helmet on the ground in frustration shortly before he headed to the locker room late in the second quarter, so he could be at risk of being downgraded to out for the second half. If Shaheed is done for the day, it would be a major blow to a Saints receiving corps that recently lost Michael Thomas (knee) to injured reserve.

  • Saints' Rashid Shaheed: Sleeper WRs

As of Friday afternoon, we don't know who will be starting at quarterback for the Patriots in Week 12 at the Giants, but it shouldn't matter much for Douglas. Mac Jones or Bailey Zappe should lean on Douglas, and he's coming off a solid game in Week 10 against the Colts prior to New England's bye. Douglas had nine targets against Indianapolis for six catches and 84 yards, and he now has at least six targets in four games in a row. He's emerged as the No. 1 receiver for the Patriots, and this is a favorable matchup against the Giants, who are No. 5 in most Fantasy points allowed to opposing receivers. Consider Douglas a solid No. 3 Fantasy receiver in all leagues.

  • Saints' Rashid Shaheed: Catches three short passes Sunday

Shaheed reeled in all three targets for 22 yards during Sunday's 24-17 victory against the Bears. Shaheed was targeted on three short passes by Derek Carr on Sunday. As a result, the 24-year-old wideout's longest play from scrimmage was a 12-yard reception early in the fourth quarter. The speedster's fantasy production is heavily tied to his explosiveness after the catch and as a downfield receiving threat. But New Orleans' passing offense has once again been limited this season despite the addition of Carr, as the 32-year-old is averaging just 6.7 yards per attempt through nine games. Shaheed has also received a somewhat inconsistent number of targets this season, seeing four or fewer targets in five of nine games. Moving forward, expect Shaheed to continue facing competition for downfield targets from No.1 wideout Chris Olave while Michael Thomas, tight end Juwan Johnson and running back Alvin Kamara all vie for short-yardage targets as well.

  • Saints' Rashid Shaheed: Sleeper WRs

I'm excited about Derek Carr in Week 9 against Chicago, and I expect his receivers to play well in this matchup. Chris Olave, despite his struggles with only two games of at least 12.7 PPR points in his past five outings, remains a must-start option. And Michael Thomas is a quality No. 3 PPR receiver since he's scored at least 10.5 PPR points in three of his past four games. Shaheed is a wild card because of his boom-or-bust production. He has three games this season with at least 18.3 PPR points and four outings with 7.2 PPR points or less. But when he's on he can win you a week in your Fantasy league, and I like his chances with this matchup against the Bears.

  • Saints' Rashid Shaheed: Week 9 Waiver Priority List

Shaheed is the definition of a boom-or-bust Fantasy receiver. He has three games this season with at least 18.3 PPR points and four outings with 7.2 PPR points or less. He's likely never going to be consistent, but when he's on he can win you a week in your Fantasy league. He has a great matchup in Week 9 against Chicago, and I would add him for up to 5 percent of your FAB to use as a No. 3 Fantasy receiver in all leagues.

  • Saints' Rashid Shaheed: Week 9 Early Waiver Targets (Add/Drop)

All Shaheed does is make plays, and at some point, the Saints have to make a commitment to getting him more involved in their offense, right? He scored for the second straight week Sunday while hitting on three catches of 40-plus yards. The problem? He got only three targets in a game where the Saints threw it 29 times. But with Michael Thomas looking a step (or two) slow and Chris Olave and Derek Carr still working on getting on the same page, Shaheed brings some poor-man's Gabe Davis potential to the table as a high-upside bye-week or injury replacement.

  • Saints' Rashid Shaheed: Tallies another long score Week 8

Shaheed caught all three of his targets for 153 yards and one touchdown during Sunday's 38-27 win against the Colts. Shaheed connected with quarterback Derek Carr on two long balls, including a season-long 58-yard touchdown pass that he caught in stride before gliding into the end zone in the second quarter. The 25-year-old speedster also recorded a 51-yard catch deep down the left side of the field in the fourth quarter. Shaheed has now accounted for the Saints' three longest plays from scrimmage this season, and he has logged a 25-yard-plus reception in five of eight games. With 23 receptions on 38 targets for 479 yards, Shaheed should continue to serve as the team's go-to big-play threat while slotting in behind top wideouts Chris Olave and Michael Thomas, who logged nine and seven targets Sunday, respectively.

  • Saints' Rashid Shaheed: Week 7 Waiver Priority List

Derek Carr's shoulder seems to be fully healed, and he's taking more shots down the field. We saw that in Week 6 at Houston when Shaheed had a 34-yard touchdown and another 51-yard reception. Now, those were the only two catches for Shaheed in Week 6, but he did have six targets. It's doubtful that Shaheed will post consistent stats when Chris Olave, Michael Thomas and Alvin Kamara are healthy, but Shaheed has week-winning potential based on his big-play ability. It's worth stashing Shaheed in all leagues for up to 5 percent of your FAB.
